I have a thing for transparent widgets. I've skinned Pandora, Weather Channel, and GTasks here at first to be transparent. You can request others for me to look at to skin.
Installation instructions: Uninstall your current app. Put the apk on your sd card. Install it using a file manager. These are full apps, not skins.

Fantastic!!!!! The only thing "wrong" is that you can see a border around the 'Large' widget.

Yeah you're right. I fixed all the borders, should be fine now.

Updated the original post with some other apps I've done, Pandora and Gtasks. Probably am going to look at Android Agenda next

You're welcome! I'm pretty sure there's a transparency option built into Smooth Calendar, check the settings.

Sure, here you go.

I probably won't do the Facebook widget because as far as I can tell it is embedded into the system in the Virtuous mod I am running and would be difficult to get to without using Metamorph. I'll try messing with it later though.

Always remember to uninstall your current application before installing these skinned versions.
Also the skinning process (for images, anyway) is very easy to do if you don't know how, I can post a guide if you would like to know how.

Black minimal Icons

I've made my own minimal icons to mimic the ones by Ultralinx, but in black.
I thought you guys might want them, I think they look a lot better with themes like Revolution that have very dark status bars.
Two PSD files, a font, and a readme file are included to help you make your own icon.
You need to use desktop visualizer to apply these icons, and use astro to choose the file instead of the gallery, because the background of the previews in the gallery is the same color as the icons and you cant tell which is which

Ok, I use SiMi Clock too, but how are you getting an extension of the vertical line in SiMi? Which beautiful widgets weather skin is that?

Confused.
Im sorta at a loss here, I have used to Desktop Vis. as well as setting up me icos side to side of the "Launcher Pro" home icon. How do I change that one and get the "Launch opition for the Apps menu".
Im currently running 1.4.1 Blackhole with Launcher Pro.
Do I need to Uninstall Launcher Pro and then apply?
Also how are you getting the extension of the black line on SiMi??

Still can't figure out how to get the extension of the line down and how to pull the weather all to one side, I'm still getting it all the way across with NO black line.
Also whats the Wallpaper your using? Looks really nice together.

I used Launcher pro (needs to be the pay version, free doesn't support resizing).
Add the weather widget.
Add Simi clock.
Position the weather widget where you want it to be
Hold on the Simi clock widget to activate launcher pro's resizing.
Drag the box down as far as you want.
The line should extend down as far as the box is drawn.

I just went and downloaded beautiful widgets, what is the skin of that widget. I am new to the beautiful widgets but I am assuming that I am using it correctly.

youve got a nice line extension for the simi clock amazing, how did you get that, also how did you manage to completely change the WHOLE home screen? No little dots at the top of the screen showing you what page youre on, no shortcuts on bottom besides the apps, msg, and phne of course, im just confused as to how you got it sooo customized?

Launcher Pro Plus most likely.
It replaces your default launcher and allows you to resize widgets among other things. Find it in the market.

Please let us know how you did that screen, I love it.
I think you are using SiMi Clock, Beautiful Widgets and Batt Stat.
What I can't figure out is how you extended the line down, the wallpaper, or the notification bar.
Icons are awesome as well.

Extending the line is done with LauncherPro Plus. It allows you to resize any widget by long pressing and releasing
The notification bar has to be built into the ROM he is using, or is a Morph (search metamorph) that changes files.

Clock is SiMi clock, the weather I assume is Beautiful Widgets.

Anyone happen to have that wallpaper? Very nice setup....whoever it originally belonged to

The clock is Simi Clock, the weather is Beautiful Widgets overlapped onto the Simi Clock widget. ADW Launcher EX allows you to do this. You can place the 2 widgets, then resize Simi Clock to extend the line down through the weather widget. The power controls are Switchpro. If anyone knows where I could get the wallpaper, I'd appreciate it. BTW, I think the calendar portion is Smooth Calendar.

Select the Beautiful Weather 4 x 1. You'll probably need to download a custom skin to get the look you're going for. The line between the current weather and forecast isn't part of the widget. It's overlapped from the Simi Clock widget (overlapping is an option in ADW Launcher EX, not sure about LPP). Also, remove the background (Check the "Hide Background" option).

the beautiful widget don't show the forecast nlike the image.
maybe it's Accuweather or WeatherChannel with a mod fo celsius.
(only if it's possible to set simiclock under another widget with ADWlauncher...)

I was able to get mine to look nearly identical except that I have a different skin for the weather icons. Otherwise, everything looks exactly the same. Make sure you uncheck "Hide current weather". Also, I'm using ADW Launcher EX, not plain ADW Launcher. The overlap effect may not work in vanilla ADW. I'd take a screenshot if I knew how...lol.

Yup this is awesome. Works very well with Minimalistic Text too.
Unfortunately beware of force closes with some widgets so take precautions.
Also many widgets can't scale properly in 1x1 or 2x1 tiles.

Been noticing that. Seems every widget so far force closes on me, or restarts the browser.

Sundroid sun or moon looks good in 2x1. Genie looks ok as 2x1, scaled slightly though... Folders work too which is a huge bonus.
Ahh... so fresh and so clean, clean.

anyone try it with the unread count SMS/GMAIL/MISSED CALL widgets?

The app already displays this info with nice big numbers so not sure why change it? It would only use extra cpu/memory....

I had a force close with System Info Widget 1x1. But after reinstalling launcher 7, I had no problems adding the widget. So maybe you try doing a reinstall?

Nice thread, you beat me to it. Im currently using beautiful widget 1x1 weather too...the best! Moving on..... If you have the statusbar not visable, then using minimalistic text widget to disply the time in the tile is a great option!
If anyone finds a music player widget that fills the whole 1x1 2x1 tile with the 'now playing' album image please let me know in here. I have treid playerpro, mortplayer rockitplayer, but none of the them can cover the whole tile with the album cover picture.

i remember before going to MIUI roms, I used to have enom's rom and he had a music widget mod that only had an album art with a previous

Still, it's the best solution for now.

Agreed. Just tried it. It does sit too close to the top but it is the best so far if you set it to 4x2. Another problem with it is that it only works with the stock player.

Anyone know any good calendar ones? I want something like pure calendar that shows old and new dates so i know whats coming up. Pure calendar doesnt seem to work for me.
