void. #forever (android 2.3.4) has been released, featuring increased performance and battery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125870
But I don't like my favorite community to be sad so...
I present you devoid. #froyo-final.
features:
* Crazy unbranding and deapking
* Patched hosts
* GPS settings tweaked
* Browser settings tweaked
* Build.prop tweaked
* Patched SQLite
* Ramdisk tweaked
* ZRAM support (active by default)
* Added ringtones and notifications
* Replaced boot "animation"
* Boot tweaked to be faster
* Replaced homescreen wallpaper
* Removed more useless trash
* Auto-zipalign @ boot ([email protected])
* Strict minfree handler tweak ([email protected])
* Smartass is now the default governor
* Noein's secret performance tweaks recipe
* I always forget other things, blame Moskovskaya!
And of course, kernel is FrancoKernel v15.1.
Don't flash any other kernel, only Franco's updates (v15.2, etc).
important:
* I don't attend to requests to add applications. Devoid's philosophy is to strip everything to a minimum and make sure you use the goddamn market.
* You are a community, help each other out. If someone needs a stock application which is not on the market, give him a hand.
* I won't add a powermenu or overscroll, it's easy but I'm lazy sorry.
* Want FM Radio, Calculator, Browser or Calendar? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14598612&postcount=1554 (thanks)
instructions:
* The usual; the zip is signed and uses edify so you can flash both on cwm and amon_ra recoveries.
download:

* There'll be no more updates; only through franco's kernel. check out his topic.
* If you want to donate money to me, don't. donate to franco instead, he's the real star of this community.
How many souls I own? + these!

I'll quote myself:
However, the base is no less important. Void's core is stripped of most applications, widgets and along with its pure black theme, I couldn't think of a name for the ROM other than precisely just: void. I've also picked 2.2 for this. It's faster and as stable as 2.2.1 (since it didn't fix the SDcard unmounts).

void. -base (mandatory)
root + superuser + busybox
APKs: deodexed, zipaglined, png-optimized
Build.prop tweaked: JIT, HW:A, VM.HS
Stock kernel clocked at 600Mhz / ondemand governor
Kernel repacked in order to accept onboot tweaks
Extended APNs (won't cover the whole globe but won't be far)
Patched hosts file (will block ads as it slows down the system; however, if you like an application, always remember to support the author by donating or buying the full version)
Applications removed: almost every single one (too many to be named, but keep reading, I'll cover this soon)
Applications added: launcherPro, root explorer, doubletwist (replaces music/video player) and missed message flasher (incl/ my settings)

First of all I want to congratulate you for your hard work. I can call this a piece of art.
Can we tweak a little bit the status bar, and notifications ? It would be much easier to read if it was like the HTC, or Gingerbread for example.
L.E: I tried something here, don't know if it works because I haven't flashed this ROM yet.
I have modified the framework from void.theme-module.
Could you please give it a test Noejn ? (I suppose you have a emulator)
DO NOT APPLY UNTILL TESTED !!!
Noejn I HATE you!!!! WHY YOU DIDN'T COME WITH THIS GREAT STUFF ONE DAY BEFORE?
Yesterday at night I just installed Prime from Megatron because I wanted to try your second ROM even that it haven't exactly what I want same as Megatron haven't. Now, you came with this!! Why you done that to me?
Anyway, really thanks for your work!! I will definitely test it!! But I haven't time now....
Thank you!!
Wow, this looks really awesome, if only i didnt flash and configured my device again yesterday..., this is for sure the next rom i am going to try next.
Nice job and thanks Noejn!

YES!! Same like me.
Is it normal to only have 156MB free space with base only? I wiped everything before installing. Or should i have mounted everything in the recovery menu and after that wipe?
LE: it's fixed now. after reboot i now have 192mb with gapps + a2sd + kernel oc.
Interesting! I was hesitant to try Prime because I didn't want to lose all the apps you stripped from it, but here you provide a way of getting them back When I have a bit more time on my hands I'll try this ROM out, thanks!
EDIT: by the way, would the sapps zip also work in prime (after removing the unwanted apps)?
@Noejn
Is there any way I can tweak this ROM to use ad-hoc wireless AP's when connecting to the internet?
By the way, Noejn...
If you open one of the zips (e.g. the sapps one), and remove the unwanted apks from it, will it still work? or do we have to do anything else to it? (e.g. 'zip align' or ?)
Wow... You're the best Noejn! I'll try this rom now

Awesome! Based on fr15?
Nope!
I don't use MoDaCo's online kitchen..!
It's based on my SuperSlim ROM!
It's tweaked and built for speed, has alot of useful apps and widgets, yet has alot of free RAM at boot (240Mb!).
It's a really nice ROM in my opinion
is there chinese in this rom?
Thanks ^^
I think I accidently deleted Chinese support.. I haven't gotten around to fixing that yet!
This is 1.5a, right?!
No Tasar, this is a different ROM.
You are thinking of my SuperSlim ROM, which can be found here.
This is the Speed Edition, it has alot of apps and widgets whereas the SuperSlim v1.5a and v1.5b have nearly no apps/widgets.
Could you maybe add some screenshots to the main post? Would really appreciate that!

Scratch that, I'll do the screenshot now! I'll post it within 5 minutes

Yes, you should use Pimp My CPU for OC/UV-ing the CPU

But your SuperSlim Rom is based on MCR Rom :-D
Nevertheless - you've done a great Job, and my device is running Your SuperSlim ROM, which is awsome. Unfortunatelly, your ROM does a better job than a slim baked ROM at MoDaCo...
No it is not!
It is based on Docs Romkitchen v1.6
And then tweaked for speed. I'm glad you like my ROM!

But it's not necessary to OC if not needed, right?
I really like your ROM! thanks!
Two more questions:
- why are you still using Eternity Kernel 1.3? 1.5c is the latest stable i think.
- the window animations when for example opening a submenu in the settings or going back are really nice but somehow i always have the feeling they somehow "lag" a bit. i think it might be just the animation itself which somehow is folding the "old" screen away but gives me the feeling that it's stuck for a short time. am i the only one with that feeling?

Personally, I would only OC it for brag-worthy Quadrant scores and keep it at stock and underclock the voltage a little for day to day usage
@maini85, it is not necessary to OC. It is possible, but not necessary
I would recommend UV-ing by -50mV on every frequency tho, it helps your battery last a little longer
And I am still using 1.3, as 1.5c does not have Pimp My CPU support..
nice rom
hi bro...thanks for ur nice and speedy rom...i like it very much...
btw, when will u add in the chinese support?
@aaronkuek, I first need to find the files in which the language support is programmed. I'm afraid that that'll take a while and as I don't have unlimited time to work on my ROMs due to work/university/trying to make a Gingerbread ROM D) I cannot give you an ETA yet.
ic....thanks anyway....will then try to stick to it 1st...
btw....thumbs up for ur rom....like it very much

i know you have an update but, cant you just stick to one thread! or update your old ones like to others?
edit:
ok... i thought i was the first one to post here... but anyway. same reason....
This update does not include the Android Market. I installed the latest apk but I keep getting FCs every time I try downloading an app. Does anyone have it working?

It seems as though there's only 3 languages supported in this version .. English (US) and two Asian languages.
I restored the original version for now, will test again this weekend.

The locales were removed to streamline the ROM and free up more space according to the changelog in the Chinese thread.
so what about working gapps???

Google translate gives me:
Google suite of services can be free without the shoes off (advanced features - the script) have this optional feature, son aufs features on the machine you need to

Maybe there is a script for the gapps (I know it sounds crazy), try looking under something like advanced settings and look for a list of scripts, maybe it's there
Edit: just installed it but all the scripts have Chinese names so i have no idea what they do
Previous ROM had way more info and patches and this one does not (and dont forget there is no market that works)
So I'm waiting for an update from the dev with more info and Fully English ROM
谷歌服务套件不用的童鞋可以自由关闭(高级功能-脚本)有此选项功能,son机器需要先开启aufs功能
From my understanding, it seems to say:
Those who choose not to use Google Apps Package can freely choose to turn it off (through high-level command in the script) as there is such a command in the options.
S-ON phones need to first enable the AUFS command.

Some feedback
Working great so far, not working with current Wallet installer which is around, same as Brainmaster's I wonder what is different that doesn't allow wallet to run.
Backups are fine (no kidding, some roms rename stuff in build.props and it messes with nandroid names. I am to lazy to go in and change it)
Performance is great no crash on setup (like pure OTA).
Super user working.
I like it, good job!
are there any known bugs??

Mon grats for the upload; even without the tweaks it's far easier to implement on a previously-rooted (CM7) 'phone than reverting to stock and using the standard upgrade.
Been tinkering with it for the past hour or so and seems as stable as anyone could wish for.
Can't stand the limitations of the built-in launcher (though it _is_ much better than the Froyo/Gingerbread launchers), but couldn't be bothered installing & configuring LauncherPro (if it's compatible with ICS?) given that it's almost 5:30am here :-/
An annoyance I noticed (ICS annoyance, that is - not your fault) is that it didn't seem to restore saved WiFi settings from the Google backup, so I've currently only got the network I'm connected to at the moment in there. Or does it hide all other networks until they're in range? If it's "forgotten" them, it looks like I'll be re-configuring settings for a couple of dozen office & customer networks over the next few weeks
No text in Facebook
First up: Thanks for doing this, I appreciate it!
For me: Neither using Facebook's app, or the website, shows any text. It's there (as there's space for it), and I can see the pictures and everything else, but no text.
This is with V2.
Any thoughts on a fix? I saw some other people mention this issue as well.
Hey there, tried a lot of other stock and somewhat tweaked ICS roms. Came back to yours, clean, not a single force close or reboot. I am a perfectionist I can live without Wallet but it would be nice to have if you can integrate it in the future.
Thanks for such a nice rom

Thanks man, I'll give it a try when updating to v4 I'd hate to wipe my newly set up rom, been flashing rom after rom since OTA release. I tried the one made specifically for 4.0.3 but not working for some reason.
Hello everybody!
Sorry for the huge delay of releasing this stuff - although it only got a little better. Consider this as my last contribution to this forum as I won't use the LG Optimus 2X as my daily driver anymore - starting from the next days the come. The sealed "Sony Xperia Z1 Compact" is lying for about a month now on my desk, because I didn't want to carry it with me during my holidays. It also took so long, because I have screwed up quite a few things on the last zip files I've created. Nevertheless... see this thread as my personal "goodbye" ROM.
Most of this stuff is based on pengus77's work, kudos, greetings and huge thanks to him for all of his work! And as we all know that stuff is based on CyanogenMod (so thanks also fly out to the whole dev team, especially Ricardo Cerqueira) and would not be possible without Linux (kudos to all people contributing to it and to the front man, Linux Torvalds).
Here it goes...
Do not try to flash this ROM when you are on the old bootloader! This won't work and support for it is not planned!
I DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILTY FOR DATA LOSS OR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR DEVICES. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND BACKUP YOUR FILES BEFORE USING THE FILES!!!
WHO SHOULD INSTALL THIS ROM?
If you want to be on the bleeding edge - avoid it completely. Period. I have created and used several "evolutions" or "versions" of this ROM over a year now, because I want to have a stable phone with every bit working out of the box... and the closest one to this state was the CM10 of pengus77. Kudos grand maester pengus!
I was nearly satisfied with version 20130106, but especially versions 20130208 and 20130514 caused a few hot reboots and sometimes also longer device reboots. Then there was also the problem of the Launcher not residing in the memory (i.e. if you press the home button the phone needs to reload the launcher and for a couple of seconds no icons are there and so on). That's why I've chosen 20130106 as ROM base, backported some changes and configured / modified the ROM how I liked it. Still interested? Then read on...
PREREQUISITES:
* An external SD Card (I'm not kidding!)
* New Bootloader
* Clockworkmod Recovery (recommended version: v6.0.2.5), the steps above have not been tested with TWRP (consider this as a "not supported, but it might work")!
If one of the last two requirements have not been met, see the following thread (with grand maester spyrosk's tool it's easily possible to switch from the old to the new bootloader and also to flash CWM): [TOOL] All-In-One ToolKit (by spyrosk)
LIST OF INCLUDED FILES:
Code:
PASSWORD: forxda
0-new_easy_upgrade_wipe_0.5n_ext4.zip
0-new_full_wipe_0.5n_ext4.zip
1-ed_nw-cm-10-20130106-UNOFFICIAL-p990-newbl-ver5pub.zip
2-gapps-jb-20121011-rmTalk.zip
3-kk-exp-20130505-121-newbl-rmKowMgrApp.zip
3-kk-exp-20130727-126-newbl-rmKowMgrApp.zip
3-kowalski-kernel-100p5-newbl-rmKowMgrApp.zip
SHORT EXPLANATION OF THE FILES:
* 0-new_easy_upgrade_wipe_0.5n_ext4.zip: It wipes system (ext4), cache (ext3) and clears the dalvik-cache on data! Short story: Use this file if you are coming from any of pengus77's CM10 ROMs or you want to reflash this ROM without losing the data.
* 0-new_full_wipe_0.5n_ext4.zip: It wipes system and data (both ext4) and cache (ext3) Short story: Use this if you are already on the new bootloader and you want a clean install of this ROM.
** Long story of both previous files: See this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414440
* 1-ed_nw-cm-10-20130106-UNOFFICIAL-p990-newbl-ver5pub.zip: The fifth release (ver5) of the public version of the ROM. It's massively edited and doesn't wipe anything (nw). (See the changelog for any changes made to pengus77's version.)
* 2-gapps-jb-20121011-rmTalk.zip: The recommended gapps (=Google Apps) package without the Talk.apk (rmTalk), source: goo.im
* 3-k*-newbl-rmKowMgrApp.zip's: Three versions of pengus77's kernels I've used most. Currently I use the 126 version, which I also recommend to everybody else, who want's to try this "stuff". Last but not least: The rmKowMgrApp of course stands for "removed Kowalski Manager App". If you want to use any other pengus kernel with this ROM, you should remove the Kowalski Manager App as well from the kernel.
** As I already hear most people scream regarding the last sentence a further explanation of this: pengus77's kernels always come with the famous Kowalski Manager App (made by wfd). Of course... once a newer version of the app was released and you want to re-try the older kernel, but keep the new Manager app... this is NOT possible. That's why I've always removed ALL of the apps from the kernels, because I see this as the ROM's responsibility - not a kernel one. Of course you couple then the ROM together with the Kowalski Kernel, but without this latter kernel our P990 is crap anyway... so, who cares?
INSTRUCTIONS:
Code:
1. Download the *.7z file from a mirror below and extract it with the following PASSWORD: forxda
2. Place the files anywhere on your /sdcard/
3. Reboot into CWM recovery
4. Installation procedure:
* Flash the files in the correct order starting from zero (0) to three (3).
* Beware which files from the zeroes you use, because the full_wipe will clear your data whereas the easy_upgrade_wipe won't do that.
* If you are unsure which files from the threes you use, stick with the 126 version for now.
5. done :)
6. Reboot and have fun! ;) As always: Warning, the first boot might take a while...
CHANGELOG:
Code:
[U]2014-09-08:[/U] Added two attachements to this thread, which make it possible to swap
the SDcards (use [b]ext1st[/b] if you want the external card to be your first card [default
for this ROM] or [b]int1st[/b] if you prefer it the other way around.
[U]2014-08-07:[/U] My old stuff v0.1
+ CM10 ROM: First public ROM release, the following changes have been made to pengus77's 20130106 version (Lights Fest):
- [color=red]changed the services.jar that the Launcher resides in memory[/color]
- swapped sdcard and sdcard1, so an external sd card is mandatory when trying this ROM
- added "telephony.test.ignore.nitz=true" to build.prop
- removed "format(...)" from updater_script, either the full_wipe or the easy_upgrade_wipe have to be used
- removed 240p videos
- removed superuser.apk and replaced it with the supersu.apk and the corresponding su binary
- replaced roboto's font with the ubuntu font
- included a modded Mms.apk for nicer smileys and also included two CM10 skins (AlphaBlueMod and Resistance) with the same modded smileys
- updated apollo.apk to newest version
- included the following well known apps: KowalskiManager.apk, newest (to date) TricksterMod.apk, QMemobin.apk and PDroid_Release.apk
- [strike]better defaults for Kowalski Manager App[/strike]
- added the following other apks to /system/app: BatteryBar.apk, FDroid.apk, FasterGPS.apk, RealCalc.apk and the best app ever: Tricorder.apk
- last but not least... added the following stuff of pengus77's later ROM releases (i.e. 20130208 and 2013014):
* updated wpa supplicant 8
* updated dhcp daemon
* added iwconfig/iwlist
* added alsa_amixer / alsa_ctl / alsa_aplay
* added libjpeg-turbo from Linaro Android
* enabled Purging of Assets in performance -> memory menu
************************************************************
+ CM10only gapps:
- removed talk.apk (-rmTalk)
+ Kowalski kernel(s):
- removed KowalskiManager (-rmKowMgrApp)
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1) Recommended basebands are... either v30a or v30b. I still can't decide which one works better, but I'm using v30b again for a few months now and I'm quite happy with that.
2) If you use a whole lot of apps, I would increase the /data partition to 2GB, which can be done through spyrosk's great All-In-One Tool.
3) If you have ever flashed a su660 baseband after switching to the new bootloader I urge you to clear the calibration data (I was able to fix the 3g->wifi->3g transition changes with that and it also reduced the battery usage of the phone). Read more in the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075564
4) The matching blue color for Resistance's CM skin is in hex: #078982 (I've used this for the BatteryBar's blue.)

KNOWN BUGS:
- Unfortunately the better defaults for the KowalskiManager App don't stick. This was my last change to the ROM and the app does not seem to like the permissions to be set to owner and group system. As I have no clue which uid gets applied for the app I don't know how to easily fix this.
(nevertheless... see the attached Screenshots for the defaults I recommend)
INTERESTING FINDINGS:
- The P990 is capable of handling 128GB microsd cards (for those, who would need to buy a bigger sd card). I have bought it for the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, which is able to handle it as well.
(see the attached screenshot as a proof, made on the P990)
DONATIONS:
Regarding donations thank you, but keep in mind, that tonyp, pengus77 or spyrosk did a lot more than me for our beloved phone...
Loving this rom! But i miss quick settings...

Thanks for the hint with tusfiles. Updated the op with the new mirror. As I don't have much time tonight I won't edit / change anything else as previously planned... I just "fixed" the wrong date, because the thread was posted after twelve o'clock.

thanks it works fine, but I'd like to give a warning for the download:
Obviously avoid to let the mark on
" [x] -> [ ] " Use our download manager and get recommended downloads
because the thusfiles server downloader is a virus, you must remove tick in the box in:
" [x] ->[ ]Use our download manager and get recommended downloads" otherwise you will get a trojan.

Oh goodness... I completely forgot to reply to this message - sorry for that. As "quick settings" is a feature of Android 4.2 there is no easy way to bring it to Android 4.1 and as I mentioned: this ROM is designed to just work - so adding a crippled version of quick settings won't happen.
@ everybody: I finally found the time to finish the op. Now everything should be correct and in place. Just a hint: See the second post of the thread, which may be useful for some of you out there.
Consider this as: job done. And my last regular appearance in the LG subforum... concluding this era by quoting Linus' words: "nVidia, F*** YOU!"

Really? our p990 can reads 128 gb sd card?
Yes, the p990 is really capable to read 128gb micro sd cards, which surprised me as well.

Full Advance is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. Full Advance does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Code:

Awesome ROM!! I was gonna skip KK after losing IMEI/APN/BASEBAND in various KK ROM's, but this one's been rock solid. Very stable. LP's notifications UI is great, but the eventual lag kinda spoils it. So, it's nice to have a solid KK ROM to use as a DD fallback. Not being forced to use MTP is a nice bonus. UMS is so much faster & more convenient, imo.
Could you provide a flashable Kernel only .zip (for the kernel used in your rom)?
I've been testing kernels and wanted to cleanly revert back to your default kernel whenever necessary. NeatKernel v1.11 (20140724) yields an impressive 417 MB RAM, but it obviously breaks 720p video playback. Surprisingly, I can still record video (just can't play it back). lyahmanKernel 20150722 (with Bigmem on) simply crashes when taking video. I used Semaphore KK v3.4.3 (20140315) zip contents and replaced the boot.img with yours, but I wasn't exactly sure if the META-INF (updater-script) was cleanly compatible for this ROM. After going back & forth between various kernels, it seems to be ok. Just wanted an "official" kernel zip to use just in case.
Is Stagefright patched in this ROM? IIRC, Coldwindofnowhere's OmniROM 5.1.1 (20151202) is the only recent ROM I've seen that indicates the Android Security Patch Level in settings.
Also, can Halo be completely removed or disabled? The novelty wears off after a while. I have it turned off but keep accidentally hitting the toggle in the notifications pulldown. Just wanted to remove that toggle somehow. Didn't notice anything in settings Halo section. Or, can it be frozen in TB? I'm assuming it's bundled with other system settings.

If you want Stagefright patched 4.4.2 rom i guess @althafvly will need to cherry-pick some commits from cm12.1 (see on cm gerrit ... i think it's possible to do so, even if i'm pretty sure you will get some conflicts) .

Which META-INF - updater-script file should I use? I just used Semaphore KK v3.4.3's updater-script, and it seemed to be ok. Just wanted to see what you recommended.

I was hoping Stagefright would get patched in currently released builds. I like how your omni-5.1.1-20151202 build included the 2015-11-01 Android Security Patch. I just kept losing IMEI/APN/BB after flashing SuperSU-4.26.zip. That was a freaky fast rom (@ 1200 OC), but I just couldn't get past the IMEI issue.

@Audiracecar90 - The kernel file in the zip is named boot.img.img. Since the updater-script references boot.img, maybe this was a typo? Was wondering why when I flashed this rom, the kernel would not change. Anyways, just an observation. Thanks again for this great KK rom.

If you open up the rom .zip, the actual name of the kernel file = "boot.img.img"
Is that extra ".img" supposed to be in the name?
