I have been thinking about exchanging my HTC Hero for the HTC PRO 2. First off, am I crazy or do I have a sane mind? Second, if I do make the switch, do you think that Windows Mobile 7 will be able to be used with the phone? Please give me your advice of what I should do as I am confused.

The Touch Pro 2 won't officially support Windows Mobile 7. It does not meet the hardware requirements. That being said, some of the chefs here may try to cook a room with WinMo7 for the Touch Pro 2.
Great Googly Moobly, I'm still debating if I am going to keep this phone with WM 6.5XX being a patch fix and no future for WIn7 mobile in the works except for a ROM brew. This is depressing!
i know how its everyone knows taht windows mobile 7 is going to have major hardware requirements to it. but doesnt anyone think that that would be the problem?
if windows mobile phone REQUIRED say a 1 ghz snap dragon processor and high resolution capacitive screen,etcetcetc, doesnt that mean that everyone is going to have to buy the highend and expensive phones just to be able to use windows mobile 7? if thats the case, then the windows mobile market share wont get larger.
i hope that microsoft doesnt drop the ball on this one and makes it at least. workable on our 2009 devices, tp2, touch diamond 2. etc

But that's probably because HD2's internal architecture is very likeable... It support Windows Mobile 6.5, WP7, Android (Froyo-Jelly bean )
Porting another OS on an Android device would be extremely hard!!! The only ones I know is ICS in a Nokia N9 and the HD2..
If you want to port WP for Optimus Black, you should just wait WP8 which will be far better than WP7 (But I don't really see the point in having WP on our device)
(Well, I'll look into porting Firefox OS when it'll be stable enough (We can currently run it on Crespo, SGSII, and GNex) or Open webOS)
Actually Windows Phone 7 OS only support snapdragon processors and our lg optimus black has an cortex A8 processor which is not supported by windows phone 7 hecne we cannot port it to optimus black
