Hello!
I'm wondering if any is working on it actively? when do you think we will see a free, working codec / player of divx / xvid for android / htc magic mobile?
conveting movies is ok, but not a big fun ;P so, i hope some one will come up with something soon...
there is a paid one, but it is not too good, and movies got unwanted delays in middle of the presentation.

sorry, just to clarify, yxflash is a free app on market, but you need to buy a license for it. there is a trial mode for ti.
and it needs to be polished more as well. Doesn't work perfectly for me
does it work perfectly for most people?
I'm using it to show people the new cataclysm wow trailer. Although it will play the original HD file from the website, it is laggy as hell. I use pspvideo9 to convert it to mp4. Plays Like a dvd.
It works ok for me on my phone,but i only use it to watch tv shows,so 45 minutes run time max. (test both G1 and Magic).
Lifehacker just posted that about watching divx on Android, and I thought of this thread. They use RockPlayerBase which is still in beta, but apparently gets the job done.

I have tested in my HTC Magic and it doesn't work. A friend of mines tested it on his Motorola Milestone and it is awesome.

I am running CyanogenMod 5.0.8, which is 2.1. Perhaps there is some hardware restrictions ...

You're trying to play 720p video on a device with 192/288mb ram and a 528mhz CPU?! You're clearly intoxicated if you think that's going to work smoothly.

Nope, I am aware of the hardware limitations of the 32B, but I am trying to play a 640x352 AVI. Rockbase player doesn't even shows a frame, it shows nothing.With other players like yxflash I can see the movie, although not in a decent frame rate.

Ah ok, you said HD, so..
That sucks, would be really nice if it would play TV in the standard formats :-(

i'm trying it on my HTC magic (running cyanogen 5.0.8, which is indeed 2.1)
doesn't work for me either. i can't seem to open any files.
tried 4 different avi's. all of them bring the app back to the folder selection screen.
i tried uninstalling + reinstalling the player twice as well.
any suggestions?
It requires a CPU with ARMv7 instruction set. HTC Magic have only ARMv6. That is why it isn't working...
RockPlayer does have 3 branches:

I have just tried it on my HTC MT3G and it gets audio/video desync, although it was a small sized video...
So, guys , as i understand there's no solution - we can't play xvid and as I tried big .avi files on our mt3g`s. If someone finds a player please post it here so we all can use it btw if someone can tell me player which plays big avi files - please write me a message or smth.

I'm going on a trip and want to watch a movie on the awesome Captivate screen but I'm unsure of where to find any. Does anyone know if there are online (legal) sources where I can purchase/rent & download a movie or TV show? Does Amazon movies work on the Captivate?

I am not that sure of the technical details of the formats but I have used anydvd and handbrake (high profile settings) to convert my personal DVD collection. The screen is incredible on this phone.
I always watch disney movies on youtube by typing disney name and part 1

I've yet to run into a format our phones can't use (I hear there are SOME issues with 1080p mkv). As long as it's capable of supporting the license files if something is DRM locked, it should open in the video player.

And if the phone's default player can't play it, there's always RockPlayer and a few others available in the market that will do the job.
I see most videos on youtube of nook color are playing youtube vids but nothing else.. searching xda forums not going anywhere...

I am running CM7 and the videos play fine using Dolphin HD with the latest version of flash. Hope that helps.

Download Chainfire3D from the market. Its a 3d driver that will help in playing the games. It will also allow you to play tegra 2 titles etc. Works great fro HD2 and Galaxy Tab and the dev is also a member here

Only first level is working. second level is again hanging. and some other gameloft games are also not working.

i have backbreaker 2 from the market and it works perfectly without using any thing , if you talking about the other one , then u have to do what the theatheist told u
I just wanted to let you all know that order and chaos hd is available thru gamelofts mobile site. Of course you have to tell the system your using the lg g2x optimus star dop. I bought it last night. If youre in the games club its $2.99 otherwise its $4.99. I downloaded it on my streak last night. It has a right at 700 meg download so you might wanna be on wifi. I played last night and it downloaded all my created characters and money and game progress. So if you play on another device you dont havta start all over. It ran pretty good with a few graphical hiccups every now and then. But other than that, it was just the same as my other devices I play on. Feel free to add me on gameloft live, daniel3334. No mods at all. My streak is stock 2.2.2 of course it is rooted.but when you go to gamelofts mobile site it will say no games for your device. Look at bottom of the screen and it will say your device Dell Streak 7. Click on that. Then it will take you to a screen with all device manufacturers list. You wanna click LG, next screen scroll way down until you see LG OPTIMUS G2X P990 STAR DOP. When you click that link it then should take you to that phones list of games. Like I said at start, I dont use any mods. I use the games stock virtual joysticks. Every game on the list for the LG P990 OPTIMUS G2X STAR DOP from Gameloft I have purchased,except for shrek. And they all work for me using stock virtual joysticks from the game. The touch controls and virtual joysticks are great on this game, and many more from Gameloft! Just make sure you are clicking on the phone name I gave you. If you click on wrong phone model, then the game may not work period!! Also ive found thru playing that these games work best on wifi. When I didnt use wifi, the games acted crazy. If you have any more questions or need help feel free to leave a post or pm here on XDA. Also check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952058 . It is dealing with Gameloft games and how to do it also.

My ds7 is running the 3.2. I played OaC on it with no issues before updating the game to 1.0.4. it just force closes after I launch it. Anyone know a fix?
Well i had order and chaos working on my dell streak 7 rooted and has the hack honeycomb runing on it, but gameloft did a up date monday for the game, now my cracked copy of the game doesnt work very upseting, it load and the says to download update, i do and update and it crashes :-(

I have purchased the game using the instructions above. I updated the game via the direct download provided via the apk directing me to the GL website, the game downloaded and installed correctly.
Now getting network errors when attempting to download the updated content, tried rebooting, rinsing, repeating, reinstalling several times..... keeps failing any hints anywhere??
Bought the game through the marketplace how. Can I get this to my streak with out re purchasing it I'm not paying for it again any ideas sent them a email waiting to hear back

Will that copy work on my moto x2 running eclipse?
Hello, I created an account so I could post in this thread as I really want to play the game. I have a Dell Streak 7 Android v3.2 and was wondering how I can buy this game and if it will work with my version? It isn't in the Play Store and I do see it on the Gameloft site. What is the exact procedure as of today, May 11th 2012, that I need to following to buy and subscribe to this game?

Ok I followed your instructions and told the Gameloft site that I was an LG P990 Optimus 2x (Star Dop) and it allowed me to download and install the first part. When I go to run it I get the Gameloft splash screen then the Order and Chaos HD screen where it wants to download the game but it gives me a "A problem occured and the download could not be completed successfully. Do you want to restart the download? An unstable network may cause problems when downloading." I am given a YES and NO option and I keep hitting yes and it attempts something for a split second then keeps coming up with the same error.
What can I do to fix this? I am running 3.2 Honeycomb on my Dell Streak 7.
I really want to play this game and will do whatever I need to to get it to work on my Dell Streak 7. I have never rooted my Streak or used a alternate ROM but I will if it means I can play this game.
Please tell me what I need to do to be able to play this game on my Dell Streak 7.

my driod tells me its stopped running when its checking my license, and force closes..:good::good: i paid for the game, i tried contacting gameloft but i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem
just wanted to update my post,, just recently updated roms to sabsa prime 5.0 thinking about changing the scripts to unlimited boost. running great thanks to the people who spent time replying to my posts
