2.3 on Samsung Spica - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

I don't know if this is OT but here is the Gingerbread port for Spica.

Spica has a lower hardware than our Milestone/Droid. Maybe we can also use Gingerbread on our device?

[Request] Make an JPX Rom for i9000b? (with JPA sources i9000b and JPX sources i9000)

Hello Everyone:
I havenĀ“t the knowledge for this:
Samsung released the sources of Froyo JPA (2.2) for i9000b (brazilian Galaxy S) (they put only the things that are different compared to the i9000):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875267
Also, they released the sources of Froyo JPX (2.2.1) that allthe people says that is much better than 2.2, for the international Galaxy S (i9000):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884553
Is it possible to make a 2.2.1 ROM for the i9000b using the sources for the international Galaxy and replacing those things that differs in the i9000b using the sources of 2.2?
I dont know if it is an easy task or is something that need a lot of work
If someone can do it, I will make a donation for him
you can do this yourself. just upgrade to jpa and then untar
tar -xvf firmware.tar
to get the parts (but recommend you use jpy now which is newer than jpx) and then apply only the parts you want.. everything but the modem using himdal.. i did the same for my i9000t .. search for thread on it.
a tutorial for dummies about how to do that please?

[Q]Kernel and ROM based on 2.3.3 official update on the euro galaxy S

im new in this section.
i have a nexus S my self.
but i am asking this, because my GF is getting the galaxy S today/tomorrow.
and i was wondering.
is there any ROM thats beyond the official euro update 2.3.3.
and is as stock as possible?(like the nexus S)
(at first ill let her fidle with touchwis though)
and i also need A kernel with lagfix and a bit of save over-clocking for the official euro update 2.3.3(and/or the rom any one suggested here)
thank you in advance
there are many 2.3.3 custom ROMs available for the SGS, although the SGS does NOT come stock with 2.3.3..
2.3.3 is also not available 'officially' through KIES, but it is available on a website www.samfirmware.com
which is 'leaked' official version.
and finally, EVERY custom Kernel supports lagfix, and majority of them also support Overclocking and Undervolting

i ment,a rom/theme closest to stock 2.3.3.
thank you on the kernel heads up though.
i think id let her wait until official update comes through(any time soon here)in KIES
But for now there is no OC/UV Kernel for 2.3.3.

my bad lol
anyway you can get a good kernel / lagfix with 2.2.1 and just apply a gingerbread theme, until the update arrives,
if your GF is anything like mine she wont even notice
awww bummer.
the problem with my gf is,she is pretty interested in what my nexus S
and my spica(that she's using for now.until she has the galaxy s) can do.
adn she asks pretty often, can i do that, how do i do this ect.
and mostly my answer is: you need root or thats only with custom kernel/rom.
2.3.3 custom ROMs with close to stock themes

[Q] SGS Best Custom rom 3.x request

Hello
First of all, i'm new and happy to know this forum
I have an galaxy S I9000 and currently on ISCSGS 4.2 and found it wonderfull
I added latest semaphore kernel and really fast
thanks for the releases
however, I would like to see if any best honey comb custom rom is available with a powerfull kernel (as powerfull as semaphore )
thanks for your help and have a nice night
.
Just for precision
althought ICSSGS is really good and close perfect, I think an honeycomb port will be better
indeed, ICS need more than honeycomb
moreover, I think honeycomb port can be more stable and as fast as ICSSGS
I just try to find the best balance between hardware and software
maybe i'm wrong
for the moment i won't change for ICSSGS until a best honeycomb is available
