I was flashing back and forth between a bunch of different things this evening and somewhere in the mess I lost the ability to send SMS messages.
I can still receive SMS, make/receive phone calls, browse the net via 3G... it seems the only thing that has been lost is the ability to send SMS.
Any ideas?
I have flashed back to stock & master cleared already with no effect... still can't send messages.

There are times when I cannot send sms while there is a full bar signal, anyone who has some hints on why is this?
Thanks!
Do you also have problems with recieving sms-messenges?
I initially had problems with my X1 as well, only half of the messenges showed up, didn't send a lot of messenges either. Most notably, the new messenges icon (xperia panel 1) contstantly showed me that i had unread messenges but they werent visible when i was in the inbox.
Fed up with problem (after updating through SE update service), I had T-mobile send it in. It's fixed now!
I have the same problem.
My provider is KPN (Netherlands) and sometimes the text messages I send are, either duplicated and send twice, or not being send at all.
Also, when I recieve messages (rare occasions) the messages that weren't send to the receiver, are being send at the same time I receive the message.
I have the latest SE Update with the Update Service.
Does anyone have an answer to this problem cos I have the same problem texts are not being sent
Long story short, I compiled CM7 and flashed it, everything went just fine.
I can send sms messages, but not receive them. Sms works fine for everyone else using it, both i9000 and Captivate users. Smsc number is correct. Non stock messaging apps don't work either. I receive all the texts within 20 minutes of flashing back to stock.
Any ideas on why this is happening?
I can't receive any message either. Send OK.
When update to 20110211, the problem is gone.
I get some texts but I'm finding more and more that people respond to my texts and I never get them. I dont have Advanced Task Killer but I do use autokiller. Is it that? Could it be some other program or maybe my ROM? This is driving me crazy.
I have the same problem with mine. I've checked my friends' text logs to confirm that they're not being mean and lying their way out of not texting me, and my phone has the most sporadic SMS reception and sending. I'll receive doubles of some texts, and fail to receive others at all. Friends only appear to receive 1/3 of texts I've been sending, and this is under both Apex and S7.
I am running Apex also and I even deleted Handcent, didnt fix problem.
I have a lumia 822 and every time I try to text, I get a failed message.
I get to make calls and even get HSPA 3G data, but I just can't get texts to work
any help?
If you're doing anything outside of normal messages (long ones, multiple recipients, images, funny characters, etc.) it may be trying to use MMS instead, which sometimes requires some configuration. Check the Messaging settings to see if it's using MMS instead of SMS. Beyond that, try sending a very simple message to just one person. Better yet, have one person send a simple message to you, then try to reply (if you get it).
SMS uses a mechanism inherent in the way modern cell phones work. You don't even need a data connection for it; if you can send and receive calls, you can (in theory) send and receive texts.
If it's really not working, I'd suggest taking it back to the store; there's something wrong.
I read that it's an issue with the phones, but some have reported that there IS in fact a fix for it, was hoping someone here knew.
I can receive texts no problem but sending always fails.
What carrier are you using? I would contact them first, I had a similar issue with my Tmob 8X.
Any update on this issue? I recently switched to SimpleMobile from AT&T and the text messages are not getting sent. Incoming messages work fine!
Hey everyone. I just got my global unlocked Mi Mix (6gb, 256gb), and I can't receive texts. I'm on At&T, and I'm getting 4g VoLTE all the time. I can send texts, and I can make and receive calls, but I'm not getting any texts that are sent to me. I've tried switching to 3g, and I've tried the stock messaging app, Google Messenger, and Textra. Nothing has fixed the problem. I really want to keep this phone, but I have to be able to receive texts.
Anyone have suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I have this same problem. To make matters worse - mine happens intermittently too. For example, sometimes I could be texting someone and receive some of their texts, then suddenly a few texts in I no longer get their responses. Not sure what's going on.
I suspect it has to do with the Contact Manager APK, but not sure how or why.

Are you on ATT? And if this is a software issue, putting on a custom ROM might resolve it. I guess.
I've got texting working now. I did two things and I don't know which is the solution.
First, I put my sim in an ATT phone I had laying around. I sent some texts and took some calls on that phone. Then I put the sim back in my phone while wifi was turned off. I did this whole thing because I saw a thread on an ATT forum regarding the same SMS issue but with a different phone. The ATT moderator suggested doing those steps.
Second, I downloaded Pulse and set it as my default SMS app. So far, texting is now working without any problems.
