Ok what are you doing to try to boot your phone ? and what ROM are you using to boot with ?
If you only need to do a factory setting boot ie you want the ROM you already have on but restored back to how it was - follow this
1. Turn off the phone .
2. Hold vol + & - keys and tap power on button
3. Once on the Tricolor screen release the volume buttons
4. White screen will show follow the instructions on screen to reboot phone.
Your phone will now hard reset back to factory settings.
If you are trying to boot a new ROM over the top
1. Ensure you have Hard_SPL on your device details of this can be found below.
2. Attach the phone to the pc
3. Transfer over your .nbh ROM file to the root of the memory card
4. Once the image is on the card rename it to TOPAIMG.NBH
5. Follow the flashing how to guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=585201 to flash your phone
If all else fails download a stock ROM from htc and re-flash original ROM.

Hi all,
what can i do?
You sure that what you're trying to perform is a hard reset, not a mere soft-reset?
If yes, this is really weird. Try flashing your ROM again.

If you are trying to perform a hard reset and it doesn't work and phone won't reboot, then only other option you have left is to put phone in bootloader and flash stock/cooked rom.
Does phone reboot ok? Are you actually performing a hard reset i.e. turn phone off. Hold down vol up & vol down and then phone on while still holding down vol buttons. You will then be presented with a white screen with text asking you to press vol up once again to restore factory settings.

Have you tried a Hard reset?
As Fallen Spartan wrote : Are you actually performing a hard reset i.e. turn phone off. Hold down vol up & vol down and then phone on while still holding down vol buttons. You will then be presented with a white screen with text asking you to press vol up once again to restore factory settings.
If it doesn't help try to flash a cooked or stock rom but I recommend you to first try the hard reset.

Bootloader is the tri-coloured screen you are getting
If you can get phone in bootloader then you can still flash new rom.
First of all try a hard reset by doing the following:
1. Turn phone off
2. Hold down vol up & vol down
3. Continue to do No.2 and turn phone on
4. You will then be presented with a white screen with text asking you to press vol up once again to restore factory settings.
Once complete if phone still doesn't reboot you will need to flash new rom by doing the following:
1. Turn phone off
2. Hold vol down button only
3. Continue to do No.2 and turn phone on
4. You will be presented with bootloader screen (tri-colour screen)
5. Connect phone to pc and bottom of screen text should change from 'serial' to 'USB'. If this doesn't read cRaCKwHoRe's guide (see link below) as you may need to update pc drivers.
6. Now flash original stock rom from which you have downloaded from wiki. You can find stock roms here. To flash rom you will need to run ruu file from pc (this is rom you have downloaded)
Make sure you only flash original stock rom which was already on your phone. If you want to flash other roms you will need to follow cRaCKwHoRe's guide
I'd recommend reading the wiki so you understand more about the process and you phone
Good luck and keep us informed
i'm trying to insall a new rom valkyrie v1.6... i've put it on my memory card root and changed it to kovsimg.nbh got the three colours, now all it says is "Loading..."
any ideas?
X1 rescue! Bricked?
I flashed stock SPL over HSPL before flashing back the stock ROM.
X1 will shows the SPL version following by "Loading..." on the LCD whenever power up! (with memory card inside the phone)
My SPL is 0.72.
The phone should be in recovery mode now without valid ROM/OS in it.
I copy an official UK ROM (R2AA010) into the micro SD card and rename it to kovsimg.nbh,
remove the battery for a few sec, insert the SD card with image file and then hold VOL Down button and power button to boot into Flash mode.
Press Power button to begin flashing process.
(Like normal flashing to other ROM after HSPL mod)
The phone should read the ROM image data and reflash back x1.
If this method not working, try to hold Power+VOL Down and press the RESET at the same time until the phone turn into "Rainbow" screen then try to flash again.
This "Rescue method" works for my set but I still advice that MUST flash stock ROM then only follow with SPL!
If your xperia is stuck in a "boot loop", which I think is what you're describing (as I remember mine always said it was loading the rom, each time you rebooted) then there's a PC application called mtty. it gives a command line interface to the phone when connected by USB.
I don't remember what commands are needed, but a search of the forums should find them. You need to set it to boot properly. Sorry I can't be more helpful, it was last year at some point that I needed this last.

i heard you are supposed to flash the stock rom THEN soft spl. not the way you did it
It is the rule: always restore last what you have flash first

sometime bad things happen :)
Hope this info may help those screw-up their X1.
I believe those with bad flash may try to recover their X1 with this method.
Flasehed this ROM: 23563 V2 FULL WWE-ITA using Jump SPL 1.93 which went fine but later after installing the apps asked to reboot.
Once clicked on the reboot unable to get the phone back.
Does anyone have any ides on this. on how we can recover this. Or Flash another ROM from this state.
Moved as not ROM Dev.
By unable to put back on i imagine you can't power on device? Remove battery and try after an hour or so.
If not then maybe the end of the road.

why did you use jumpSPL to flash a complete ROM???????????
its written everywhere that jumpSPL is only meant to flash HardSPL...and HardSPL is needed before you can flash any ROM. i mean why???????!!!!!
follow the advice the chef gave you in the thread for the ROM because i noticed you posted your question there as well in addition to starting a new thread here.
Try flashing Stock rom via 2GB or smaller SD Card. Check the wiki for Stock OEM Roms from your BRANDED Device.

Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Kaiser Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your computer
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to KAISIMG.nbh
4. Copy the KAISIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Hold in the Power and Camera buttons, then press the reset button with the stylus for about 3 seconds until the BootLoader screen appears
7. You will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
8. A message will then pop up asking you to press the Power button to start the update
9. Press power button to start flashing
10. Once phone finishes flashing and says Update Complete, reset with the stylus
11. When it gets to the screen where it configures the stylus, HARD RESET
(press left and right softkey buttons on the front and hold in reset with stylus until message appears)
12. When prompted, Press "Send Button" (Green Call Button on Front) to Clear Data
13. When prompted, Press "Send Button" (Green Call Button on Front) to Restart Phone
14. Follow onscreen instructions to set up your New Rom

Flashing Your First Kaiser Rom (For Noobs)

Thanks for your advise, i have recovered my phone, i went into boot loader screen then flashed the original HTC ROM which is "TyTN II_AUS Hutch_WM6.1_Upgrade_20080602" which went through fine and ALL IZ WELL so far...
The reason i used the Jump SPL is that when i flashed normally, i was not able to get the ROM upgrade, it was throwing error message UPDATE error...
so
1. checked some info and Ran Jump SPL 1.93
2. Right click on the Active Sync then unchecked the USB connection
3. Connected back and ran the KaiserCustomRUU.exe
which went fine but anyhow learn lesson...
Thanks once again for everyone...
Hi, I was flashing the Empora ROM this evening and followed the instructions exactly.
My Phone will not power on and when I try to into recovery I get this instead.
Warning!!
"A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications.
If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key.
Otherwise press volume down to cancel.''
When I press up it puts me in download mode and down I get stuck in a black screen.
Not sure what I did wrong but any help would be greatly appreciated to get back into TWRP and at least restore my back up.
Thank you
Do you have the latest bootloader and modem? If not, Odin the latest oem ROM first.
1. Pull the battery out for 30 sec.
2. Put battery back in, power up in Download mode
3. Odin the correct TWRP to the phone
4. boot to TWRP, flash Empora ROM.
5. Reboot and wait 15 mins, enjoy.
