I am running the stock AT&T Tilt, without any of the bloatware (having hit soft reset and aborting the installation of the extra CABS).
While I didn't think we needed to run the Microsoft DST fix, I found that phone is not reporting the correct time vis-a-vis OggSync, as I try to sync with my google calendar.
When I applied the DST fix, and then did the additional steps - go into Clock, set to a DIFFERENT time zone, close out of Clock, say OK to knowing that it will change appt times, etc. Returning to today screen. Giving the system a moment to adjust to new time zone. Go back into Clock, set to CORRECT time zone, close out of Clock, say OK to knowing that it will change appt times, etc. Returning to today screen, and letting system readjust to correct time. Then, DST is set and OggSync reports that the DST registry setting is correct.
Here is the problem: Each time I soft re-set, it loses the DST registry setting reading. I have to go back to the Clock and do the hocus-pocus changing of time zones to get it to read correctly.
I can't be the only one having this problem, can I? Can anyone suggest what I may be missing? Is there something that ATT added in one of the CABS that fixes this that I may be missing?
Please, if you can, wise gurus....HELP!!!
You might try turning off the Automatic Time Zone detection, which is under Settings > Phone > Time Zone. See if that fixes it.
According to MS, WM6 doesn't need the DST patch. Both my phones, 8525 & Tilt changed times without the patch.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/daylightsaving/default.mspx
You might need to install the DST patch on your PC, not your Tilt.
On this link you will find the patch for your PC:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/default.mspx
Thanks all for the replies.
I am not using a PC, so this isn't coming from that area.
My Tilt IS reporting the correct time and made the adjustment at 2 am on last Sunday.
The issue is that when OggSync (which is used to sync with Google Calendar) READS the registry settings for the time zone, they aren't there (or something like that, I think). The same issue happens when using SyncMyCal, another way of syncing with Google Calendar.
Is ANYONE syncing successfully directly with Google Calendar and has solved this problem? Or anyone else discovering issues?
It is weird. The phone is fine (time zone wise), but now its not just a soft reset. It seems that each time I open OggSync, I have to go through the little change-timezone-dance.
Any other thoughts?

Thank you very much for this tip! I never would have thought to look there for the problem I was experiencing, but UNCHECKING the Automatic Time Zone detection as you suggested solved the problem for me. I was this close <holds fingers pretty close together> to hard-resetting my PDA to attempt to combat the issue, and your suggestion saved me!
Thanks again.
Hello Everyone.
I'm new to the forum and this is my first post, although have been reading and applying a lot of knowledge you guys have! the forum is great!
Anyway, I have an unlocked HTC TyTN II, everything worked fine and I overall very satisfied with the device...
I made a foolish thing! I installed the "Wefi" utility and after playing with it for a little while, I didn't like the thing.. so, I decided to uninstall it.. however, now I find that my kaiser cannot longer connect automatically to my wireless networks after resume.. Now I only get the notification that it has found available wireless networks and, even though I chose not to show the message anymore, it does it every time, and when it does not, the phone doesn't connect to my WiFi.. so I need to do it manually... which is very annoying..
I already restored original registry keys under HLM\Comm\TNETW12511\Parms with no luck so far...
What can I do?... I'm still on the original WM 6.0, have not loaded any ROM changes yet..
Your help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

Fix for auto connect problem after removing WeFi
My name is Galia Finkelstein and I work at the support desk at WeFi. This doesn't happen anymore on the new version that's been released so for the older version we have a version fix for the problem with the automatic connection, just run this file and you should be good to go http://wefi.com/static/RestoreZCAutoConnect.exe
If I can assist with anything else please drop me a line at [email protected].
WeFi post-uninstall problems
Hi!
I am sufferring from the same problems as "obadillo" - see above.
I downloaded and installed the latest version of WeFi, but after a couple of days of use, I found that I didn't like it, and it also took up too much of my valuable "today" screen space.
After uninstalling, I found that firstly, all my previous wi-fi settings had been lost (WEP keys for my home network, my work network etc etc), and secondly, even after re-enterring these details, my device (HTC Touch UK Version - Orange UK) - (running WM6 Pro) refused to auto-connect when I switch the WiFi on.
After reading the reply from Galia (directly above my post), I downloaded and ran the executable, but found that it made no difference.
Any ideas anyone? I did email Wefi's support email address, but as yet have received no reply.
Thanks in advance!
I have also tried this fix with no success (running WM5). I have also sent an email to wefi support. No response. I would recommend you stay away from this software.
We-Fi Latest Version
I have found a (kind of) solution! I have installed the latest version of We-Fi (downloaded from their website), and then DEselected it in my Today programs. So even though its not in use, its wifi parameters still overrule the PPCs local params. This seems to allow me to switch on and off WiFi WITHOUT using the WeFi software, and it now autoconnects, even with the several wireless networks I have stored, whenever I switch WiFi on, it may take a few seconds to connect, but it now does every time.
Not the greatest "solution", but at least the problem is partially solved.
But as the good man above says, unless you're VERY sure you want to install WeFi, do not install, because you will lose ALL preexisiting WiFi connections and settings etc..
Have a good one!

Hello again, XDA devs!
I also had the problem and I'm struggling with Amir, some guy from the WeFi staff, to get the problem solved or at least recognized.
I left a complete description on my blog with links to people having problems. Here's the article (without links):
Before you consider installing WeFi on your Windows Mobile device, you might want to read this cautiously and save yourself some problems.
If you have not yet tried it, you're not missing much. Although promising, the app takes over your device. It controls your today screen, messes up your wi-fi parameters and some rarer stability issues were also reported.
First, the app needs .Net CF v.2.0, something that takes space and puts more useless crap on your device. Then the app doesn't just find networks and connect to them. Instead it overrides your wi-fi parameters and inserts its own code, thus the uninstallation problems. WeFi also takes a lot of your today screen's estate for basically nothing. How much screen space? Take a look.
Upon uninstalling it, many noticed their devices stopped automatically connecting to wireless networks, among other, rarer problems. The only known fix to the problem is to hard-reset your device and to stay the **** away from this app. We also saw a link to a .exe file somewhere but no one left feedback about it so we assume it's just as good as WeFi. You might also reinstall it, hide it and use it to take care of the wi-fi stuff or go in Settings>Connections>Wi-Fi everytime to select a network to connect to.
The developers were quick to comment about the problem and said they are working on it (see the first comment to this post). However their product page doesn't mention the problem yet and people still get caught. I left them feedback about *some* of the concerned device, assuming it's not all of them, hoping for a change. Feel free to do the same and put some pressure on these guys too.
You might also read one of those threads and see for yourself.

I'm trying to get the warning to reach all the download spots, if you guys feel like helping. This is just unacceptable, let's do something about it!
Haim head of WeFi Windows Mobile development team here
Hello all,
First, let me assure you all that we are doing our best to solve any user problem as quickly as possible.
Out of the thousands of mobile users we have, there are really only a few users who complained about this problem.
We released a fix that you can find in: http://www.wefi.com/download/client/RestoreZCAutoConnect.exe
which after executing and doing soft reset should solve the problem.
As our support team explained to “primemaps” via e-mails (sent in 08/07) this fix only works if you uninstall WeFi first.
What you are all describing is that ZeroConfig stopped auto connecting.
By avoiding the manipulation of ZeroConfig default timeouts in our next version (which should be released in about 2 weeks from now), this should not happen anymore.
If this does not help you or you have encountered any other problem – please send me an email to [email protected] and I promise a fast response,
it would help if you mentioned your WeFi version, Device model and ActiveSync version.
I hope you would all choose to install our next version and enjoy the many benefits it can bring you.
Haim
Can't work with it and can't work without it
With my HTC TyTN II I had similar problems as others have described, or maybe even worse: I could no longer work to any wireless networks. It would disconnect in less than one second every time.
I did a hard reset and that didn't work!
I also tried the "fix" the WeFi representative suggested but that didn't help at all either.
What finally helped me was Namwollem's solution: Install WeFi again and removed it from the Today screen (but kept it installed).
I can't help wonder if WeFi changes something in the ROM since a hard reset didn't even fix it.
One of these days I will have to install the ROM all over and see if it makes a difference, but I wish I could avoid that!
I hope others won't be stupid like me and install this #$%[email protected]#&$ software!
Nothing helps for my Diamond to restore Wifi signal
I have Htc diamond with newest Rom downloaded from htc.com.
My problem is that since i installed aplication WEFI(older version) and uninstalled it, i cannot see ANY available wifi networks.. I tried alot of things. I tried soft reset, hard reset, i installed WEFI (newest version) , in moments wifi works and shows available networks and i can connect, but after it doesnt work again.. I would say it shows networks only ocasionally(even if im always surrounded by at least 10 hotspots). I installed newest Rom again, i installed old official ROM, i always put mamximum performance instead of battery, and still i have no results/cannot see ANY available networks). I have a feeling like i really have a hardware problem with wifi now..But again i think whatever it is its caused by this aplication WEFI. Does anylone have any ideas? i saw some Rafael radio ROM , maybe i can try to install that?
Thanks
AArrrggghh!
This god-awful program rears its ugly head again! I have solved the problem totally now by getting a new handset!! Now I have my Touch HD (Blackstone), one thing I WILL NOT do is install this garbage!! A quick search thru the forums here will reveal a small and very useful program which will with one click switch-on WiFi (and auto connect to the signal it finds if stored in your preferred networks) and with another click will switch WiFi off! Its called AKWifiToggle, and while no where near as fancy as WeFi, IT WORKS and DOESN'T MUCK UP YOUR PHONE!!!
I have a problem in the last time. My watch constantly just go ahead for 12-13min. I set the regional settings but it is happening again . How to fix ?
Maybe your operator gives a bad automatic time update for your phone..
try to go into phone setting, disable auto time sync and see if the problem still occurred.
Thanks for answer...I suppose that's the problem, but I do not know to find "auto time sync" on my Kaiser.
When SIM card are extracted, time is OK for a long time...When phone is on "flight mode" time is OK also.
which build are you using?
well, since I always use android now, I also forgot where to find it
It was located in phone setting, but I don't know where the exact location is.
but if you sure you can't find it anywhere, its likely you have to install a dialer which has the setting.
My friend once had suggested me about phillux's dialer, maybe you'll find it here. But I've never tested it.
Good luck
Hi,
Not sure if anyone got this problem.. but I bought my phone from Kogan.com.au and the version of my LG seems to be for Taiwan (of course got English language etc)... but problem is, whatever I do with timezone, whether I set it Manually, or Automatic from Network, every time I restart the phone it goes back to Taipei timezone! It's annoying as I have to go in settings and set it again.. Although I did find a work around using an app that will set the time zone at boot, but still.. when I reboot the phone it boots up with Taipei time, then after few seconds the app will correct it.
I even edited the build.prop to reflect AU not TW regions.
I assume flashing a different rom might fix it, but I spent a full day setting up my phone, really don't wanna start over again, and I'm hoping it might be just a system file that needs editing.
Thanks for your help
Strange, I've found this issue can happen when a phone is offline at boot, but if you're connected to a network the phone should correct time and time zone at boot, perhaps your network is not providing these values correctly?

If I go in date and time, and disable and re-enable the automatic time zone it then gets the right one from the network.. so it's definitely not the network. Also on my old phone I get the right time (same network) and my gf gets the right time (same network also).. all android phones.

Perhaps you just don't have a connection when it polls for an update at boot, my desire s used to have this sort of problem
Sent from my LG-P880
Even if I set time zone to manual, not automatic.. it still resets to that time zone.
Anyway of making it poll again after reboot when I have connection?

Only manually as far as I know
Sent from my LG-P880
Ah damn it. I even tried to look up apps on the market.. but I could only find one.. but it uses NTP and you manually have to set timezone.. it sets the right time zone after like 5 seconds after bootup.. which is not so bad... but still, would be good if it worked out of the box.
Thanks for your help anyways!
I have the same issue, running the same firmware (v10d) for Taiwan. I suspect we're using the same app (ClockSync) as a workaround as well.
I also suspect that flashing a firmware for Europe or some other region may fix it, but I am in the same boat as you; I spent a bunch of time setting up my phone and don't really want to do it all over again. At least not yet.
Yes. That's the app. Works for me for now.. maybe when JB comes out.. I'd be willing to flash it, but for now, it does the trick.
If you ever find an actual fix (aside from flash), please let me know. Thanks.
I have this exact same problem with the Taiwan v20b (the correct one for my phone).
problem solved

Hy guys.
I had the same problem. After days spent trying to solve it, i got it. The problem was from some apps, that were installed. I removed them, i checked automatic date and time, automatic time zone, and after reboot, the problem dissapperd. The apps that did that are: facebook, facebook messenger, yahoo messenger. there could be other apps that could do that, but those apps, did it to me. Sorry for my english. Please post, if solved. Thanks!

Issue with timezone
I have the same problem with my P880. Clocksync Fixed it for time being. Hope someone can find what is causing this.
Recently I'm quite often annoyed by a popup asking me to select the network I want to connect to. Took me a while to figure out in most cases my mobile signal was weak then. I've set the device to automatically chose the network (as my provider has two entries here, one for 2G and one for 3G).
As I explicitly said "automatically", why I am always asked and, more importantly, how to get rid of that?
What good is an automatic like that otherwise, if I'm just trying to read something (offline) on my device, and all 2..5 seconds have to close such a stupid popup
Besides I remember having had a similar popup when my battery dropped below 30% -- which is where the built-in energy saver should kick in. Instead of kicking in (as I would expect), I just got a popup where it asked whether I want it to activate now. Makes no sense to me if I have to approve each and every action. But in this context, it looks like I have some stupid setting sticking somewhere, setting actions like the mentioned ones from "automatic" to "manual". Is there such a thing, and I've missed it?
Both issues are meanwhile confirmed by two other users running the same (v10h) stock ROM. Any more confirmations here? Or is this a thing specific to the European version?
Select the network manually in the network settings menu. That should solve the popup problem.

Thanks for your suggestion, but that's not an option. My provider has 2 network entries (for different bands, I guess -- check for yourself, we share the same provider), so that would make me lose coverage. Besides, I doubt that would remove the popup: As soon as the connection gets too weak, it will always come up again ("Please select a network [since the current one is too weak]").
Writing "this should solve" (instead of "try it, it might solve"): Have you tried it, or have you any reference?

I didn't tried it myself for that specific network when the signal gets too weak but there was a problem with cm nightlies where this popup did occur also and manually selecting the network did solve it.
OT: Referring to my "should" in my other post: I'm not native English and I sometimes get confused with this whole "should, shouldn't, must, mustn't etc." thing so I'm sorry if my reply gave you false hope, but I'm just trying to help you? If it's not appreciated by you I will leave you and your problem alone
EDIT: One question? Did you even try my solution? Or why do you know that you loose coverage when you choose it manually? Don't write such things if you have no reference
Sent from my LG-P880
OK, the hint to CM is a good reference: might be the very same issue, thanks. Maybe I will try that (just to check; as written, it's not a "permanent option" for me).
As for the "should": Your help of course is highly appreciated! It's just that the wording suggested you might have tested it. Not being an English native myself, I know how easy we Germans confuse words (you might know the famous joke: "Waiter, when I become a beaf-steak?", but that plays at the similarity to the German word "bekommen", "to get" ) So my apologies if I sounded "accusing"; I was just seeking affirmation
(such a thing seems only to happen when two Germans try to communicate in English...)
You're right only Germans try to be this accurate when it comes to grammar
Which network are you on exactly?
The E-Plus network is very bad indeed but I never get this popup on my WerewolfJB thing (even if I have no network signal at all like when I passed the alps down to Italy).
Sent from my LG-P880
Well, I'm using E-Plus (since ~1995), switched to their "Base" section two years ago. In "Networks", my O4X shows me two entries to select from (after searching for ages). At least it did last time I checked − currently I only get an error message after about 2 minutes, and no list at all (at least it's booked in with 1 bar) Ah, now: Both are labeled "E-Plus", but one has "UMTS" and the other "GSM" below it.
Could very well be that it's only a speciality of our O4X to display them separately, and it wouldn't matter which I select. To figure out, I just selected the GSM entry; before that I had HDSPA in the notification, now it's just EDGE. Will check later today when in an area with stronger (UMTS) signal, and report back then.
Btw: I'm on stock (so no werewolf), and unfortunately will have to stay there: Not having any Windows machine to play with, I'd have no fallback in case anything goes wrong while flashing (didn't know one needs to obtain a Windows license to use/update an Android phone; not sure if I would chose a LG device again for that reason and their mafia-ware called "remote call service")...
Oh, wait a sec: The "H" is back. So my assumption was correct: The "two entries" are just to show that both standards are available. O2 e.g. was only shown with GSM here. (Well, in the heart of Munich, in a big business center, almost no coverage...) Now let's see if that nagging screen re-appears. I'm pretty sure how I was able to trigger it, just using the elevator (Faraday cage )
Postscriptum: As I expected from the beginning, fixing the device to a given network/provider doesn't keep that stupid message from popping up. Had it a couple of times already again
