I have noticed the following time related problem with my AT&T tilt. Yesterday, it was showing incorrect system time: approximately 2 hours 20 min off. I then synchronized it with my PC via active sync. Today it was 5 min off (compared to the same PC), which is too much for one day. I have searched the Internet to see if anybody has experienced a similar problem and could find only that similar things happen when you “lock” the phone – which I don’t do.
Does anyone know why this might happen and how to fix it? I am not sure if it is a software or a hardware problem, as I have installed some software on the phone.
Also, I was thinking to find a program that would run in the background and once in a while, say every 4 hours, would automatically sync time with the network time (I’d rather not use programs that sync time via internet) – could somebody provide a link to something like that?
i noticed the same thing. maybe its a problem with the network because don't these phones sync times to att? anyway i just changed it and it syncs with the time on my comp.

I have the same problem. What did you change? My TyTN II displays the wrong time, is there a setting to have the clock synched by GPS? Thanks!
There is an option in the Phone setting to sync the time from network, that fixes the whole problem of moving betweeen time zones and everything. Keeps my time accurate.

Thanks! That's the setting I had to DISABLE to keep my time accurate. The time on the network I'm on is off by 7 minutes, and that was driving me crazy.
weird thing happened to me today. the time at the top randomly changed from digital to analog! now i cant figure out how to change it back. i did a soft reset but it stayed the same. how do i change it back to the digital display? thanks.
edit: figured it out
I can't tell when it started happening, but my N1 has been showing the wrong time for a couple of weeks now, in that time I've been abroad to Spain & upgraded to Cyanogenmod 5.0.6 which has caused a time zone change and an OS upgrade, it still shows 2 mins slow.
I have set it to pick up the time from the network operator, O2, I can't believe that they don't have accurate time.
I don't really want to have to set the time manually, anyone got any ideas ?
Believe it or not, I have exactly the same problem.
I noticed it because we used to have our alarm clock ringing at the same time with my girlfriend, and I am now 2 or 3 min behind.
Weird!
Just found and tried this, works well. (fixed my 1.6 second difference)
http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/tools/ntp-client-root-only_goiu.html
I had to change the ntp server to:
pool.ntp.org (same port 123)
This works but doesnt set your time, but has a nice gui.

The time should automatically be set by using the network carrier's clock. This was the default for me - Did your setting get unset?
Settings -> Date & Time -> Automatic (network provided values)

No, it was still set to get the time from the network, but was 2 mins slow, consistently.

I will check out the NTP client, but it doesn't explain why the time coming from the network is 2 mins slow, that is just odd.
I am in T-Mobile, not O2
I have a problem in the last time. My watch constantly just go ahead for 12-13min. I set the regional settings but it is happening again . How to fix ?
Maybe your operator gives a bad automatic time update for your phone..
try to go into phone setting, disable auto time sync and see if the problem still occurred.
Thanks for answer...I suppose that's the problem, but I do not know to find "auto time sync" on my Kaiser.
When SIM card are extracted, time is OK for a long time...When phone is on "flight mode" time is OK also.
which build are you using?
well, since I always use android now, I also forgot where to find it
It was located in phone setting, but I don't know where the exact location is.
but if you sure you can't find it anywhere, its likely you have to install a dialer which has the setting.
My friend once had suggested me about phillux's dialer, maybe you'll find it here. But I've never tested it.
Good luck
Hi !
I just installed this rom :
Energy.RHODIUM.28244.Sense2.5.MaxSense.Dec.22.7z
Everything works fine, but everytime I reboot, the time changes. I am in switzerland, which has the same time as Paris, so I have selected Paris GMT+1, but when I reboot, I always have to set the actual time again and again, it doesn't keep my time...
I also tried with "Get carrier time", but the time is not right.
2nd problem is with the keyboard, I cant find the swiss keyboard, so some keys don't type what they should...
What can I do ?
These answers were already given in the EnergyROM topic in post 6.
Keyboard issue
Wrong physical keyboard configuration: If you are using AT&T or T-Mobile, and you are experiencing issues with the physical keyboard key configuration (FN not working, for example), you need to run the Carrier Provisioning that can be found at Start > Tools. Another alternative is to use a key remapper program such as this one.

Time issue
Wrong time: Several people outside of the US reported problems with time after the US changed to/from daylight savings time (aka summer time and winter time). If your clock is one hour (or more) ahead or behind, do not use "get carrier time" and disable "automatic change time zone and clock" in personal -> phone settings.

The time issue might might be related to something else, but this is worth a try. If this doesn't fix it, try another rom so you can be sure that the time issue is rom-related. You can also try updating your radio-rom, but I doubt if that would be a solution.

First things first, I'm extremely savvy in Android / cell info.
As the title says, anytime I load up something that uses GPS, it turns on the GPS, and cycles the cellular radio. I've tried QPST, factory image flashing, radio flashing, reset AGPS, downloaded new AGPS. Tried every GPS Tools app there is. Calibrated GPS.
If I disable GPS, and only use Data for location, it does not do this.
I've noticed that the APN table gets corrupted sometimes. Doing a reset to default restores all APNs, but adding the APN manually does not activate Data (even though the info is correct).
If I set the Preferred Network Type to LTE Only, and run GPS Status, it will eventually lock GPS location, and keep data active (after cycling the radio off and on), but then after a few minutes, it goes back to LTE, GSM, CDMA preferred, and I'm back at square one. Also, going into Cellular Networks (in Android Settings), and forcing 3G without LTE does the same. My best result seems to be leaving it on 3G in this menus, going into the *#*#INFO#*#*, and then setting it to LTE Only. But again, eventually it reverts, and/or if GPS is turned off at any point, then the cycle has to be started again. This only works for like 15 minutes at a time, so this is not reliable.
Due to this, I can't use any Maps, or even run Speedtests, since it tries to get your location first, and then do the test.
Obviously Pokemon Go is fudged up.
I have spent the last 3 days and nights fighting with my phone, flashing ****, modifying, restoring... I am so frustrated I have actually begun to fling and throw my phone around (very very harshly).
Failing this, I will break it in half, but I can't do that until I have my Note 7...
Please help. I know it sounds crazy, because GPS should not affect the data connection, let alone the ENTIRE cellular radio.
I'm thinking of wiping the EFS partition, but the only backup I have of EFS is from after this whole ordeal started.
IMEI is intact, I can see it with *#06#.
It is worth noting, this all started by Maps locking up (or I suppose the GPS getting messed up and crashing Maps). After I reboot the phone, GPS and Data still worked, but my location was stuck at the same spot, even though I had driven miles and miles away.
Trying to be as thorough as possible to try and get whatever help I can get. Would any debug logs help anyone at all? If so, which.
Thanks in advance!!
Best thing I can recommend, is get on Google Maps, put in somewhere to go... Let it lock GPS. Then go use your app. The problem is only with turning ON the gps... once it's on, and doesn't turn off, you are good to go. Can even play pokemon go. Obviously your batter will be **** but meh... 22000 mAH battery pack.
i have been having the same problem all of a sudden, on almost every rom for the past like three days. I'm about to completely reset and wipe the phone

It wont help. I've wiped everything, gone through every factory image. Flashed every stock partition there is. Re-encrypted phone, tried all the ROMs, all the kernels. Nothing works.

Well then were not doing something right. There's no reason for our phones to all of a sudden break themselves and no one else to also be doing this. I'll see if I can talk to some of the devs to see if there is any possibility as to something it could be
There's a thread in Q&A, but the short version is that it's a known issue affecting Nexus 6 almost exclusively on carriers worldwide. I haven't found any full workaround. Freezing Google Connectivity Services helps quite a bit, I got about 10 hours out of the data connection that way. But GPS eventually screws it up. Disabling location services is the best option for me right now, I need data more than location.
Google has acknowledged the issue, as has t-mobile. They claim to be working on it. No one knows how long that might take.

Lol dude calm down. This is the first I've heard it of it, so my bad, besides the fact that this is the kind of stuff were bound to run into with the stuff we do. I know other people who have nexus 6's that aren't having this issue at all. Therefore we keep texting and figure out what's going on ourselves. No reason to get upset over it lol

Think about how strange this legitimately is. All to a sudden, nexus 6 owners are having dropped data with GPS. Not just ones who've accepted an update, not just ones who have rooted and installed custom OS's, just those of us who own nexus 6s'. Its strange, but it makes me think that its a bug within one of their application, possibly connectivity services. I wonder if its all to a sudden appearing because they're editing code to get ready for android n

Nothing against you... I'm just flustered that I've spent countless hours trying to fix a problem that had nothing to do with me.
The legitimacy is real... But this was a hidden update pushed by Google. I initially thought it was me, then TMO. But its the phone/google/motorola. Just angry of all the time I've wasted.
Download GPS Locker, let it get a lock on. And just don't turn off GPS. The issue only happens when GPS is enabled/activated/awoken. Just leave it on 24/7 and that's all.

But if its a hidden update how is it effecting those of us who haven't updated a ROM or anything since before august. Is that when this started for you? Because come to think about it that's when mine started lol. I'm thinking its a system app update issue that they were getting ready for android n.
And I completely understand your frustration, I think most of us have been in this situation one too many times, except normally its our own fault lol
Well i just came here to find out / ask if this problem is only for me and some how happy to see i'm not alone.
i have this problem aprox. 2 - 3 days. First i thought this was a rom problem
---------- Post added at 07:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:52 AM ----------
i might have found a solution;
i disabled modify system settings permission of google connectivity services and also i activated xposed mobile radio active fix. Now i still have gps at high accuracy ( says sometimes gps signal not found ) but still have working data and GPS at the same time.
I don't know if this could help but I had the same problem, it happened after I updated connectivity service couple days ago so I uninstalled the updates and after I did that it didn't happened again cellular radio and GPS are back to normal.
Sorry for the bad grammar
I, too have had this problem for 4 days now. I just changed location accuracy to battery saving mode (no GPS) and when I access the application that always killed LTE it remained on. I'm hoping this setting works long term (i.e., for more than a few hours).
I am having a similar issue since the last 3-4 days. My stock T-Mobile Nexus 6 (never rooted or flashed any custom ROM or anything ever) is losing data connection for long periods. It started 3-4 days ago when I, coincidentally or not, installed UBER for the very first time. I really don't know if its a GPS issue or some other hardware issue or Android OS issue. I did a Factory Reset today and it appeared to be fine at first BUT then again the issue started, this time without UBER but when I installed the STARBUCKS application. So again , I am not sure what the issue is. But my cellular radio is losing connectivity like anything.

I fixed this by uninstalling Google connection service updates. And then also going into the settings and granting location permission. Let's see how long it works for!
The updated connection services did not have an option for permissions.
This worldwide issue seems to be fixed now.

Did you find any news about it? What was causing the problem etc etc
Running the DP5 beta and somewhat affected like everyone else, but unlike some folks here I have never needed to reboot my phone. I lose all connection few times a day but it takes roughly 10-20 seconds and LTE comes back alive. Guess I'm lucky.
