Hello fellow Nexus S users!
You might recognize me from the Nexus One forums. I've made this app that can be used to connect a wiimote to a phone and play games with the wiimote:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=672884
Official website: http://android.ccpcreations.com/wiicontroller
I would appreciate very much if I someone would test my app on the Nexus S to see if it works. With the wiimote preferably, but it's not neccesary.
If you don't have a wiimote, you can help too, by following this procedure, and reporting back the result:
http://android.ccpcreations.com/wiicontroller/wc-compatibility
Thanks for your help!
I don't have a wiimote to test, but I did what it shows in your website and I get the message: Found 0 wiimote(s), so I guess it should work.
i got the wiimote to connect but tried gbcoid and snesoid and couldnt get it to control them.
Hi pikipirs, I'm the guy who tested the classic controller for you. Guess what? I have a Nexus S! I just tested your app with nesoid and snesoid and it worked fine. Even the classic controller works.
Jaker, you need to enable "use input method" in snesoid under other settings and then map the keys under input settings. Also don't forget to select the wii controller IME.

hmm i did all that. maybe i missed something. i will have to try again
I have also tested the wiimote on the nexus s along with the classic controller and it worked perfect. It was one of the first things I did with my nexus s.
I tried your application with my Nexus S and it works fine. I have run into one issue though. Once I have connected the wiimote and selected it on the input method within the app it causes the stock keyboard and launcher to force close for some reason. Other than that I have had no problems with it.

PhoneMyPC works for me. I can view live and interact live. Haven't tried anything else. When I remoted in I noticed that the NC keyboard didn't pop up automatically. I use Button Savior to access the PhoneMyPC menu and was able to select the keyboard that way.

Its not that it sucked, I guess... just didn't have the functionality I wanted.
TeamViewer
Just tried the Android app, which youll have to get from the website an sideload, but a quick run though of the app went smooth an seemed just as good as the PC version.
Logmein works well as a remote desktop tool.
I'd recommend TeamViewer b/c with it you can connect to any computer running it. Very helpful for tech support.
Link is here: http://www.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewer.apk
phonemypc wont work when lappy is connected to projector..
moving on to LogMeIn, and if that fails... Teamviewer.
thanks for the info buds
I use remotedroid on my phone ... have not tried it yet on the nook but that may be an option.

I also use RemoteDroid and it's so much better on the NC rather than my Droid. The larger screen just makes it so much easier to navigate accurately.
Logmein ran slow. So I installed teamviewer and its sweeeet.
May try remotedroid, but tviewr is doing great currently
// from the nook
Open vnc. It works with my evo so i assume it will work with nook.
Sent from my nook COLOR.
Another vote for Teamviewer, pretty sweet.
If you have the ability to set up a vnc client on the target PC, I would recommend openvnc, if not than use teamviewer.
alright, so i installed and got the vnc stuff running, but i cant get any remote input working
im using tightvnc and android-vnc-viewer, and the only input it lets me use is trackball, which the nook obviously lacks. the other input options are greyed out so i cant select anything else.
bug with PhoneMyPC
Be careful with PhoneMyPC PC software.
Software: PhoneMyPC PC software 32bit version 2.0.2.2
OS: Window 7 Ult w/ SP1
I was looking for a remote desktop app that can pass through NAT network, when I have no rights to configure port mapping.
Just tried PhoneMyPC and uninstalled the PC software. I found that I cannot connect to L2TP VPN on my desktop anymore! error code 789. After system restore I managed to roll back and able to connect to that L2TP VPN again.
I tried it on two desktops, same problem.
I am going to try TeamViewer or Logmein.
I'll throw out another option - Unified Remote -it works really well...very fast and a lot of pre-configured controls for common applications. I love it.
Make sure you get the latest version RC2 as it's way better than the market one.
http://www.unifiedremote.com/screenshots
Splashtop works good but that's more of a remote option,

I use Unified Remote. It does require you install the software on your pc but it works great. It also has built-in remotes for VLC, Powerpoint and many other programs.
Sorry if this has been asked before but search on this site really does not work so well. I have a game on my NC but it does not fit on the screen, is there a work around for this? Thanks.
you need to get an app from the market called Spare Parts.
The solution requires a couple reboots and the repeated clicking of the compatibility mode in the Spare Parts app.
Best explained here, (he's using a Galaxy Tab, but it's the same process for the Nookie):

Have you personally tried this? I keep trying but it still does not work, perhaps its the app in particular that is not working. Angry birds work perfectly. Im trying to play Assassins Creed (not working to well) and the comic reader ACV works great in portrait mode but does not work (only the center shows) so well. Any other ideas?
EDIT: Got it working but Assassins Creed is just one of those games that dont work but ACV is working perfectly. Thanks.
I tried to search for this, but I don't seem to be having any luck. I noticed
the google maps 5.0.0 does not have the 3D feature or the 2 finger rotate.
Is there any way to get these working??
Only the Cyanogenmod rom has gotten it working on the gtablet so far. Install that or wait.

Will need to wait a while longer for cyanogenmod. Tried to get it working on the other roms, but for some reason the tab doesn't want to enable it.

Hi, I have tried to install teamviewer (version 6.0.170) to my LG optimus 2X. When I launch it on my phone, it just gives me a black screen and I have to force close it. it used to work well on my old motorola milestone.
May I know which version of teamviewer do you use? Can you send me the apk?
Thank you very much.
Hi,
I use 2x client, with very good results.
Best Remote desktop tool!
Hey There,
Im working a Lot with Remote desktop programs!
Just because.. Its possible!! And there're getting better and faster!
Ive bought, PhoneMyPc a half year ago, which has I think the best way of navigating through your Pc.
Im using SplashTop which is the best for viewing streaming media (Video&Audio) on my phone. Which working unbelievable good!
Also using that one on my Asus Epad!
Its the fastest remote desktop tool I used!
Sometimes I use LogMein because that program really shows everything what is happening on your desktop screen. When your starting up a game.. Not intent to do that, PhonemyPc and Splashtop are giving a black screen, while logmein, is showing you the game. It slow, but it works.
Also Logmein is working almost Everywhere!! Through every proxy etc! While PhonemyPc and Spashtop having some trouble when your in a business environment or heavvy protected area.
We just have splashtop some more time! I think.
Thats why, when Ive to chose one. I'll go for Splashtop!
Greetzz..

When i downloaded Sixaxis compatibility app 1 time, it did work correctly, it showed my bluetooth adress, and it found my sixaxis controller.
But then, when i use Sixaxis Controller app, and click "Start" it just crashes and says that it "Stopped unexpected".. And it kept doing it, even after rebooting the phone.
But now, 1 day after, Sixaxis conpatibility app had an update, so i updated it, now the compatibility app dosen't work, same problem, when clicking "Start" It stops..
Im running CyanongenMod 7.2.0 to p990
Anyone who can help? Dos CM 7 support the app?
Contact the app developer. He should be able to help you out.

I'm on cyanogenmod and I have the exact same problem, I definitely think it has something to do with it
Same here. Nexus 5. Cyanogenmod 11 M11.
Yeah, I have the same issue
The sixaxis controller -app worked just fine before updating to newest Cyanogenmod 11 M11...
I hope a fix is available soon
Same here. I have a Oneplus one running the latest version of CM and the app was working just fine before but than I tried it yesterday and now when I hit start, the app crash...
Anyone found a fix yet?
Guess we have to wait until there is a Cyanogenmod update...
Yeah guess so...
I even reset to factory setting through recovery and installed all fresh, unlocked bootloader again and rooted my OPO. I got the app working the first time I pressed "Start", then when I tried again the crashing started. This is really annoying. Sixaxis Compatibility App works just fine and that is meant to indicate that Sixaxis Controller would work. Now it is definitely not the case and I have a useless app.
Turning of an icon pack might work
I had this problem to and I figured out that it was caused by an icon pack I had enabled switched it back to default icons and the app now works flawlessly. Maybe this is also the case for you. Try it out!
My god... You were right. Switched icon pack to default from DCikonz pack and it works!

Worked for me, too. Thanks so much. So disabling a custom icon package, will make the Sixaxis Controller app work.
Nexus 5 CM 11
a workaround I'm using is setting your icon pack with xposed gel settings, however using a different launcher or unicon might work as well
