I'm enjoying my rooted NC with ADW Launcher and various other apps etc. The one thing I'd really enjoy is a shortcut to immediately go back to my book after doing something else, web, facebook etc.
Presently, I have to go back to my home screen, click on the library and then click on my book again.
Any other workaround to go back to my Currently open book? On the native B&N Home Launcher it's a quick shortcut at the top of the screen to Keep Reading...any thoughts?
This is something that I am interested in as well.
Hopefully someone has an idea.
+1 - wondered why the book icon didn't do anything

Hey I just released a branched version of Droid Reader specifically for Honeycomb tablets. It's still in the development phase, but I thought I'd go ahead and throw what I have out on the market so people can get to it. Let me know if you have any problems or suggestions.
You will need to relaunch the application after you authenticate the first time (or hit back on the authentication browser window).
I'm hoping to eventually merge this back in with the actual Droid Reader project, but I have to get ahold of the project owners first. If they end up releasing a tablet edition I'll probably just pull this app.

I really like this reader alot. Might be my new favorite.
Only thing is it gets really laggy.

Trying it out right now, so far it looks good, does it have G Reader support or is it like Pulse where you add the RSS feeds to your local storage? I will find out for myself.

Hate to double post, but I have some things to say about it:
When you read an article it doesn't mark it as read
Going back to list of feeds is little misleading, I would assume pressing back would go back, but you have to press that button? Weird
Widget, I know this is in beta, just a suggestion
So far it's surprisingly smooth and stable, had one crash but that's cause I had Tapatalk and Sumarai 2 open in the background. At least I think that's why. Keep up the great work, and I love this so much it got rid of Google Reader( Google didn't even make a Google Reader app for Honeycomb? What the hell?)
Thanks!
Edit:
Embed video crashes the app, just wanted to add that
Sent from my Xoom
Great app, thanks !

Yeah, that's a known bug. It works intermittently. I'm still working on that.

Not sure I'm clear on which behavior you'd expect. So you'd rather have it go back to the channel list instead of backwards in articles?

It's on my todo list, but I'm pretty limited in my free time so we'll see if I can get to it.

Yep I get the crash reports so if you get FC's please report .
When you are on the list of RSS feeds you select one and then it takes you to that feed, I would assume to go back to the list all you would have to do is tap the back button, but that does nothing just flip through the articles you have seen, I thought that the back button would take you back to the RS feed list view.
Edit: would like to see a change log on app store please?

I've fixed the problems with clicking on links in articles and I added the option to select weather or not articles go into your back history. I'll post the new release sometime tonight after I've had time to finish testing the new changes.

Thanks for fixing the links issue, will be posting any issues I have, I shall use this as my main way to get my RSS feeds so I can find some more issues.
Keep up the great work :-D

offlline support
Hi, it works good now, but greatest addition will be to support offline cache. And not only RSS cache, but cache external link content. I want read news even when Im not connected and in RSS there are only few sentences, and I must open browser to read all and it is discomfort and with lack of internet connection (eg in train) impossible.
Thanks
First of all let me start by saying yes I know this is in the wrong place. I cannot post in the development forum though because I do not have 10 posts.
I don't know about anyone else but can you put shortcuts on the homescreen? Whenever I long press on the homescreen and press shortcuts the homescreen force closes. Is there any workaround for this?
Edit I also cannot get into the settings.
I know right. It sucks how we cant post in any of the developmental forums .
what launcher are you using?
Nevermind I rebooted my phone and everything is good now. Phone seems much faster. Just looking for a replacement for the calendar now. I like the calendar it came with. Is it possible to restore that?
i would check one of the deodexed system dumps for the service and app apks
as a side note, jorte is awesome imo
My galaxy note seems to reset the wallpaper layout to spread across each pane instead of staying as the whole picture on each pane (which I set it to do). I don't know why this is and I'm getting fed up of having to change it. This is my main query.
My note also just reset itself whilst I was in the middle of a phone call.
When updating to ICS the layouts were reset so there were no apps that I wanted on the main screen, no widgets whee I had set them up and no bookmarked internet pages. This doesn't matter now as I have gone through the trouble of doing it all again, but I thought it might be useful for people to know if they are considering to buy this phone.
I've seen an aweful lot of good reviews for this phone, but I'm beginning to wonder why.
You obviously downloaded a full wipe version of pics, or possibly wiped yourself during the process. Pretty standard behavior really, not sure it needs a thread about it!

There's too many people on here that act cocky, just because they know more than somebody else. Do you get enjoyment out of it?
As it happens though, you were no help at all because you haven't answered my question.
I don't know why the layout keeps changing on its own. I've got no idea what you mean about a full wipe version of pics. I have downloaded nothing of the sort. All I have done is taken a picture and set it as my wallpapaer, but the phone decides to spread the picture across all the panes after a while and I have to keep changing it back.
Sorry, that was supposed to be ics not pics.
What I meant was the old add age of a bad worker always blames his tools, the rom seems to be behaving normally.
And you didn't ask any questions, just slagged off a great phone
Sent from my Paranoid Android GT-N7000. It doesn't get much better than this!
Ok... Why does my wallpapaer layout change on its own? There you go... The fact is, you still don't know the answer and you haven't helped me.
'A bad worker blames his tools'
I don't really know what that has to do with anything. I just use the phone as normal and the wallpaper layout changes on its own. Nothing to do with me or how I use it.
And as I mentioned, the phone restarted whilst I was in the middle of a phone call... To me, that doesn't sound like a great phone.

Ok. Assuming you're using TW Launcher, goto "Applications" > "Settings" > "Display" > "Home Screen Wallpaper" > Select your favourite wallpaper here > choose the second layout (with one column > the right option not the left one) and you'll have a non moving non spreaded wallpaper.
Hi djpianz
I have done this and that's what I have to keep doing every time I turn my phone on.
When I turn my phone on it seems to have reset to spread accross all the panes.
Problem still not solved. It still happens every time I turn my phone off and on again.
I did have that same issue on gb. I know its not a fix, but a work around, but have you considered a 3rd party launcher?
Sent from my Paranoid Android GT-N7000. It doesn't get much better than this!
Spydertracks. Excuse my ignorance but what is a 3rd party launcher and how do I go about using one? Problem still persists.

A launcher is what gives the phone its visual style. So touchwiz is a launcher and there are various others eg. Launcher7, adw, go launcher, spb shell 3d. They each add different functionality and provide sensation to the home screen, folder and app drawer layout.
Have a look at each of of them on play store and see what you think.

Hi
Yesterday I installed CM10.1 on my HD+ following the instructions from the big "Dummies" thread here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317500
Everything went without a hitch. Then google installed a bunch of my stuff and I am up and running. I have a few issues but I'll just focus on one big one:
When it is on the standard lock screen (which I only modified by adding weather and calendar) I swipe to open and it flicks to the corresponding app, and then within half a second jumps back to the lock screen! Once in a while I seem able to unlock it, but mostly I can't.
A bit of a show stopper obviously. I googled and didn't find anything like this.
Any suggestions? (I'm happy enough at the command line.)
Cheers
Dave

This sounds like the magnetic cover/case known issue. Just open the cover and don't touch the home button. Been discussed a lot. Search all threads.

Sorry, I just made a thread on this issue but I even took off the case. I got around the stuck on lock screen / flicker by turning it off. Not a solution but keeps me on the build.
The ROM is running great otherwise.
Also, any way to turn of Nook Screen when HDMI playing on TV. Uses much more of the battery.

I was somehow able to disable the Google Search bar somehow in some setting somewhere, but I kinda want it back. Anyone know how to make it come back short of restoring the damn phone?
Please use search the next time. Your question was asked and answered in this forum section just a few days ago.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/removed-persistent-google-search-bar-t2888115
I tried searching but it wasn't coming up when I looked. Thanks for pointing me there, though.
it does look like an eyesore especially if you can't get it back. though I assume it will have its uses when you want to google something on the fly.
i think installing an alternative launcher may be the only successful way
Go to settings > apps > disabled, if it's not there then restoring might be the only option
Sent from my Xperia Z2
Go to apps, find Xperia Home then press clear data
Note that this will reset your home screen settings to default but whatever apps your have installed will remain. I don't think there's an easier way learnt it the hard way too...
