[Tranformation] Make your Aria look like it has Froyo! - HTC Aria Themes and Apps

Well, I have been around a few days and I've observed that you guys (or some of you) don't like Sense UI. We'll here a tut on how to make your Aria look like Froyo (Lol, this is a bit late).

[REQUIREMENTS]
-Micro-SD Card
[DOWNLOAD THIS STUFF (if you don't have it)]
-LauncherPro (free) - Market
-Desktop VisualizeR - Market
-Froyo Icons (See attachments)
-Home Switcher - Market
-OI File Manager - Market
[PREPARATION]
1. Download the attachment below, called "Android Icons + Dock Icons".
2. Insert your Micro-SD from your phone.
3. Open up the attachment. Now extract all of the icons to your Micro-SD card. (No specific place, anywhere is fine)
4. Safely remove your Micro-SD from your computer. Insert it into your phone.
5. Open up "Home Switcher". Set default "LauncherPro".
6. Press Home. Now goto Menu > Preferences > Homescreen Settings.
7. Set "Number of screens" to "5". Set "Default screen" to "3". Go back.
8. Goto "Dock Settings". Set "Number of docks" to "1". Go back.
9. Goto "Appearance settings". Tick "Dock background" to Froyo. Set "Home button on app drawer". Go back.
[OPTIONAL STEP] 10. Goto "Advanced Settings". Tick "Use 3D drawer".
[FROYO-IZING IT]
1. Goto Menu > Add > Widgets. Add a "Search" bar at the very top of your screen.
2. Goto Desktop VisualizeR. Goto "Select Icon", choose "OI File Manager". Browse to where you put the icons from earlier. Select "Camera.png" and click OK. Click "Select Action" and choose "Camera". Do this for every icon you want. NOTE: If you really want to make your phone look like it has Froyo, rename icons! So if you are running Sense, "Messages" will become "Messaging".
...Doo dee doo...doo dee doo....
3. Once you're done, do a long hold on the middle dock icon. Goto "Change shortcut" and choose "App Drawer". Once you tapped that, a screen should appear. Choose "Custom icon". Find "DOCK_ICON_Drawer.png". Select it. Do this for "Phone" and Browser", but Phone being on the left and Browser being on the right.
4. On the dock, do a long press on the very left. Choose "Change shortcut" and then choose "Homescreens". Choose "Previous screen". Do this for the very right (with "Next screen" being chose instead).
5. You're done! You now have a 98% percent Aria that looks like Froyo!

This actually sounds pretty cool. Will try when I get back home

How do you have honeycomb on an Aria? I thought honeycomb needed a dual core cpu?

You just need to do the Core2Duo mod... but don't forget to make a nandroid backup first.

This is how to do the core 2 duo mod!!!
First, plug in your device in recovery mode and mount system.
Then, type
adb push fakenotrealduocoreprocessormod.zip \system\processor\it'sajoke,getit?\
After that reboot your device and you get duo core processor! Yay!
note: I'm not responsible for bricking your device because you were too stupid to understand the real meaning. There is no real duocore proccesor mod and this "mod" is for entertainment purposes only. Please don't be offended by this message. This messgae will now self destruct in T-minus 5 sec, or not.

Tiramisu... But on a different note my Aria actually has FroYo just search for "Liberated Aria FR008" in the forums, you'll find it.

[APP THEME] Ginger Green Handcent

Apparently, I was thinking of a different app. This one is free so apk included now, just install and fix the settings to your liking.
Since this is a paid app, I am only including the /res folders in this post.
1. use adb or droidexplorer to get your handcent .apk out of /data/app (adb pull /data/app/com.handcent.nextsms-1.apk)
2. merge this res folder with the one in your .apk through winrar/7zip/etc (be sure to use STORE method so it does not compress)
3. resign the apk through APKTool
4. push back to /data/app (adb push filename.apk /data/app)
5. adjust settings: Use Dark theme, Hero skin
Screenshots attached.
This theme is based off stock and some ideas taken from this thread.
I have modified many of the images in the conversation list, bubbles, and the widget to blend better with my current color scheme. This is my first theme/mod so let me know what you think. Comments/suggestions/requests welcome.

Sure, np . i pulled this out of an older ADW apk and just tinted it a bit green. For those wondering how i changed it :
1. longpress an empty area on your homescreen
2. Custom Shortcuts > Launcher Actions > Open/Close App Drawer
3. touch the icon in the upper left corner, then find where you saved this one.
4. drag the newly made shortcut down to your dockbar
To change the regular dock icons in ADW
1. Create the shortcut (longpress, create shortcut, applications, phone or whatever)
2. click on the icon (top left)
3. find new icon through gallery
4. drag the newly created icon wherever you want it in your dock
If you're wondering about the dockbar its from EspressoUI (Nest w/Slide) theme available for free through the ADW theme gallery.
EDIT: attached the icons as well in case you wanted those. If you have any requests for icons you would like in that style, let me know and ill do my best to make something that will suit your needs.

Thanks , been rockin it for awhile now .
Love the launcher but I can't get it working correctly. The Dock Bar had everything but it says "LAB" over the Phone Tab in very small letters and there's a sense picture in front of the right app button. Neither of them do anything when I tap them, the other app button works fine though. Any help?

I didn't develop the launcher. It's found here. It specifically states that if you have ADW launcher installed already, things won't work properly. Try to uninstall the ADW launcher and then re-install the modded launcher and everything should work fine.

You don't need the SPB launcher to get that theme. The 3D stuff in the middle is just that certain launcher. What you want is the notification bar theme right? I don't have it myself, as I don't use those themes, but I would suggest using the UOT kitchen and you can cook it yourself. It's pretty easy to figure out and get your own themes up and running.
http://uot.dakra.lt/
I took some time and threw together what I THINK you're looking for... it was actually quite a bit more work than I thought it would be, but I just tested this out on my Nexus S (i9020a) on the latest CM7.1 Nightly (b. 180) and it worked fine.
I'd recommend backing up your Androidian.apk just in case something goes wrong, or even a full nand backup. You'll need to push this apk to /system/app and make sure permissions are set properly.
Here's what I did to set it:
1 - Use Root Explorer (or another file manager with root access) and go to /system/app
2 - Make sure the directory is mounted as RW
3 - Rename Androidian.apk to Androidian.apk.bak
4 - Browse to where you saved the modified APK on your SDCard and Copy/Move the modified apk to /system/app
5 - Set permissions (rw-r--r--)
6 - Reboot phone.
7 - Once phone is back up, go to Theme Manager and select Androidian.apk and apply.
8 - Hope it works for you like it did for me
I really like this a LOT. I've been thinking about requesting for it too. Can I add to the request please?
@tehgeekguy - Can you modify it further to remove the horizontal dividers in lists? Especially in sms and the menu lists. Pretty much like Minimalbread and Lucid. Please?

You mind taking a screenshot of what you mean? To be honest, I don't use themes at all, but I could tweak it how you'd like if you can show me what it is you're wanting changed.
Hello, Im hoping to remove all those white lines. Especially in messaging. That horizontal divider in message list or menu items. Please see attached image.

I THINK I got what you're wanting. I attached two screenshots with what I've managed so far. This will basically remove those bars from anywhere they'd normally show up (Settings menus, Messaging app, pop up menus, etc...). The screenshots show the Settings menu and the Power menu (I clear my messages daily so nothing in Messages to show but a black window).
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten it to work in a theme yet, but I can get it working with a morph, or you can yank the files and merge them manually if you know how, it's not too difficult. I'll keep poking around the theme files and see if I can get this put into the one I uploaded earlier. The morph is NoDividers.zip (attached).
WOW! This $hi+$ AMAZING! I can't THANK YOU enough! Best thing about this morph is that I can use ANY theme without those pesky dividers! Really NEAT man!
I really recommend this to anyone who love David's MinimalBread and Sonny Sekhon's Lucid.

Unknown notification bar icon

The gear shaped icon in the picture appeared yesterday and I have no clue what it means. There's no information in the drop down and I've not installed or updated anything that I'm aware of. Anyone seen this icon, or know what it means and how to get rid of it? Not rooted. Thanks.

Looks like the icon that pops up for watching porn. It's permanent. :silly:
Kidding aside, I don't know what that gear is, but on the SGS3 there was a similar issue brought up and it wound up being a notification bar notification toggle icon.

That's definitely the power control widget causing that. You were able to hide it easily until the most recent update, and I haven't figured out how to hide it since

you can hide notifications for any app in jellybean - settinsg > applications > find the application > untick 'display notifications' (or whatever it says)
Don't forget about the new JB feature.
If you hold down a notification, it will give you an "App Info" selection.

Yeah, that's exactly what it is. When Power Controls was background updated yesterday, the setting 'Notification Icon' in the app settings was reverted to 'default' (which displays the gear icon). I had previously set this to 'transparent' but now notice that that setting still takes up a slot on the notification bar & looks weird when it's sandwiched between 2 notification icons. I've since set the 'Notification Icon' setting to 'Battery 3' and have removed my Battery Widget? Reborn! widget & notification icon. Thanks to everyone for their help & suggestions. [HOW TO][ANY ROM] Install and Configure Halo

I saw a lot of people not knowing how to configure it, so here's how I got it to work
1. Install Floating Notifications and enable it in the Accesibility menu.
2. Select the box labeled "Launch Apps in Halo Mode"

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
3. Go to the app notifications menu and check which ones you want it to notify you for. HINT: if you want a real halo experience the rightmost icon in the app list will make the icon stay floating.
4. This is a personal preference: Go to Customize in Floating Notifications and select "Dock after a few seconds of inactivity" and then at the bottom set "Amount of the icon hidden when docked:" to 55%. If it is more than 55% then you will have trouble clicking the stack.
5. REBOOT PHONE.
Now for the Xposed part.
1. Install Xposed Framework
2. REBOOT PHONE.
3. Go into Xposed Installer and go to "Downloads" and select XHaloFloatingWindow, and then install it.
4. REBOOT PHONE.
5. Go into Xposed Installer and go into "Modules" and check the box "XHaloFloatingWindow".
6. For safe measure REBOOT PHONE. And then you're done
Lemme know if y'all need any help!
Also on the reboots it hung on the splash for a while.
Oh yeah not responsible if your device catches fire.
