I have the same problem. I think, that there is problem with SD card. If i change SD card, market instal it and everything is OK. I tried format card in phone, in windows, but the same problem. Try move the game to the phone, then install upgrade and then you can move it to SD card.
Yeah, i tried to clear data of the market but it still cant help =[[[
I put some apps back to phone storage and some of them can be upgraded again but still some cant (

Delete the file 'smdl2tmp1.asec'. It can be at 2 places:
1. /sdcard/.android_secure
or
2. /mnt/secure/asec/ (you need to be rooted if you want to delete it from here).
I deleted it from the /mnt/secure/asec folder and everything works fine ever since.
If you can't find this file you can just simply unmount your sdcard from the settings menu, download your app and then remount the sdcard.
I hope this helps.
I dont have this file. I thing, that problem is with SD card. If I try another one, everything is OK.
try to repair you SD Card via PC
Hello, right now i'm using miracle v4 ROM with dartremor a2sd script for cm7. I'm facing a apps installation problem that always occurs when I try to download big-sized app like inotia4, magic piano etc. It keep saying insufficient memory, but when I check the available space on titanium backup, I still have a lot of space in memory card also internal storage because of a2sd partition. Anyone suffer same problem as me?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
i have same problem..
i hv lots of space in internal and memory card.
but evrything installs to the small a2sd partition, which is only 180 mb
I have 1.16 GB on my a2sd partition and 88.5 MB on internal storage. The inotia4 only around 43MB. But it can't be installed even downloaded before the download process it keep saying error insufficient memory.

Anyone know how to solve this?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
This is most probably some conflict with the play store and/or titanium backup
go to settings->applications->manage applications
Clear the data and cache from the play store
If still doesnt resolve the issue, delete the vending.apk from \system\app
use this to reinstall it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802291
Okay, the first suggestion failed and now i'm working on the second, do i need to install it via root explorer (copy paste to /system/app) or just normal installation?

The second way didnt work either

I've been noticing that I have no storage on my one so I cleaned it out causethe section called 'other' says it's using 18 gb so I deleted the nandroid backup I had and now other still says 12 GB it's using and I don't know what else it is. I've cleaned apps, music and my download folder but still that 'other' anyone have any ideas?

Browse through ES File explorer, or any other explorer. You may have a 0 folder which is sitting in /data/0 maybe..
after upgrading I found I had this odd 12 gig file sitting on the root of my sdcard. i deleted it and everything's running fine
No data/0 folder, is there an app that can tell me what the folder is?

Personally all data are used by CWM when you do a backup.
For see and download it, I used Rom Manager.

It has to do with how 4.3 and 4.2.2 Roms use the sd card vs 4.1.2. If you manually upgraded to 4.3, the symlinks to your sd card were not created, so you are not seeing music, etc.
I'm on a train right now, so can't point you to the correct threads that talk about this, but search for android 4.2.2 and sd card, emulated, legacy, /data/0 .

Uve got astro and root browser. My data/0 folder is empty and my HTC one has no lib.dir file that I can find. I've been deleting stuff and still over 12Gb in "other" I'm also using disk usage and no luck. Arrrggh frustrating

how about you check /data/media
history:
4.1.2: sdcard = /data/media
4.2.2+: sdcard = /data/media/0
but nandroids usually are still in /data/media/clockworkmod or /data/media/TWRP
you need a root-enabled browser to view files&folders in /data/media
SD card data is empty, media folder is empty. I am rooted not sure what u mean by root enabled browser but I enabled hidden folders in astro and root browser and deleted bunch of stuff from the cache folder but there's still a lot in there that I cannot delete. After all the new deletes my 'other' is still at over 12GB. It was at 18GB till I erased my clockworkmod backup but this only came about after doing a backup before flashing a rom.
If I had any hair I'd b pulling it out about now

that's cause the file explorer is not in ROOT mode
Umm no idea there was a root mode I'll look. Nothing indicating a root mode with astro at least only enable hidden files

get ES File Explorer (free app), then enable Root Explorer (screenshot attached)
Got it and its enabled but under sdcard/data is empty
Sdcard/ media is empty except for 1 ringtone
Sdcard/clockworkmod has an empty backup folder and a download folder
I don't seem to have a structure that goes
SD/data/media/0
In the data folder there is nothing
I do see a sd/0 which has a bunch of folders which looks same as under sdcard. I've looked in the sd/0/data=nothing
Sd/0/media=nothing
Sd/0/clockworkmod= nothing

i don't remember those apk's specifically tho. not sure where you got that stuff. do you know what it is?
You've been visiting naughty sites!
Try force stop before uninstalling.

Looks like these are on your SD card. Did you try backing up internal storage, removing external SD then delete? Might have to do some SD house cleaning!
No I haven't tried that. What would be the process?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Backup internal storage to PC, then go to settings/general/storage and select format SD card. Do the same with your external SD but use a card reader with your PC. Delete the apps again and reboot. Hopefully the rouge apps will not reappear. Then copy the files you know back into internal storage. Try not to over write anything in internal storage unless you're sure you know what it is. Same for external. Format SD card then copy back the files from the backup you made. If you're not sure about a file, don't copy it back to storage. Hopefully this will take care of the issue. It's also good to clean stuff from storage that serves no purpose. Good luck!

Everything you see in that directory when you view it on a computer.. You will loose all photos, music, games and any other personal data or apps you have downloaded or installed. You will basically have a new phone with only stock apps and data on it.

So I have a bunch of movie files and tv show files on my external sd card. I have it in my s5 watch from it. When I am done with them and try to delete the file.. it tells me that it cannot delete files due to some security changes in kitkat.
any way to get around this?

Where are the files from? Did you download them from a PC and transfer to SD or get them through an android app like Google Play Movies? I have read that kit Kat has new security features meaning apps don't have complete access to the SD card. It is possible the card thinks a malicious app is attempting to remove files even though you are telling it to delete them and rejecting the command, for security reasons. I am unaware of this issue since I have not seen it happen on my phone. Try to plug your phone into a computer USB and delete through the PC operating system instead of directly through the phone.

The stock My Files app can erase from the external sd. If you're rooted there is an sdfix app which will enable all apps to access the external.

If phone is rooted, install app like root explorer and delete.
If phone is not rooted, try deleting them using stock Gallery app or Files app.
Kitkat, by default, imposes restrictions on 3rd party apps from deleting data on SD card.
