[Q] I've recently switched from aosp 2.2 to GB unstable and had issues flashing gapps on there. Now I cannot flash gapps to any of my roms. Is there any way to fix this?

I had to do a full wipe of both my internal and SD card for some reason to fix that.

I installed Cyanagen ROM 6.0, RC3 on my Rooted Nexus 1 froyo. I wanna know how to install the radio image? Also, do I have to wipe then install Radio then ROM? Or just update ROM/Radio.

radio
I wiped data, cache, dalvik cache then flashed radio image....simple as that
If it's a new ROM, wipe is recommended to avoid problems... if you're moving from another FroYo ROM, i'd even recommend formatting the SD card to get rid of the stray apps installed using FroYo App2FAT... If you already have a FroYo ROM (even if it's stock), you should have the correct radio version already...
How do I install Radio Firmware?

Radio image
You simply flash it in recovery. Select zip file from sdcard and let it run.

Look under "Radios".
Jack R1,
Thanks for the info! That helped me out A LOT!

Which is better? I've used both haven't really noticed a difference (restoring the backup) both seem to do the job. I've been using RA and nandroid but had to switch to cwr to install aosp 0.1.2 gb rom cuz RA wouldn't do it so can someone explain the difference?

well I use 1.7 but I have to go thru alot of steps to get aosp's GB to run.
Flash CM6 let it boot wipe dalvik-cache,wipe cache
Flash AOSP GB let it boot
Flash Gapps
Then it runs pretty good but still don't like some othe bugs IMHO

Heh tried that with 1.5.2 didn't work sent me into boot loops or would install gb but not gapps clockwork mod worked easily. Just flashed aosp 2.2 then full wipe then flashed 0.1.2 the gapps no need to flash then restart then flash gapps. Im just wondering if theirs a difference between amon ra's nandroid backup and cwr backup if so which is the better of the 2.

Y not just flash Darch's 1.7 and see if it will work for you from your post it seems like you've just read about others experience without giving it a go for yourself..... every phone is different no two are the same and no to users are the same hence forth every ones experience will differ IMO I think you should just try it and see!!!! There's always nanddroid good luck

To answer your question...
Both do the same thing. They make an exact copy of your system, data, and boot partitions and if you choose the ext partition on the sdcard.

So both perform the same core function, it's just the GUI and added tasks that are different. Correct?

Cool thanks for the info I thought they both did the same core functions and since its as I thought ill keep using the cwr it does seem to have the better GUI. Plus it seems a tad faster at backing up/ restoring at least I think so.
Thanks for answering my question unCoRrUpTeD

I have just recently rooted my old G1 and I have installed a custom rom... But my problem is that I can't open the market.
I have tried 4 different roms and all don't let me open the market but it is installed.
Any ideas?
what happens when you try to open it? have you used cmtd on any of those roms? did it ever let you use the market? have you tried wiping cahce/market data? did you do full wipes in between flashes of rom?

On the first couple of roms it wasn't even visible. After using BananaBread it appeared but it said "Unable to perform activity". I have never used CMTD as I cannot download the required files from a source as it just simply won't download which is strange as other files work.
This problem is also happening on my u8180 with a CM based rom.
Sorry for silly posts, its an issue that i have never came across on any of my devices.
if you didnt download the gapps package or the right one then you may not see the market (google play) and or if it is included in the rom it wont work without google sign in. bannabread doesnt seem to work too well without cmtd and you would need to bind mount the cache in order to download almost anything from the market. i would recomened a full wipe in recovery along with flash a superwipe script. and for fun do a fastboot -w too (not necessary but the cleanest wipe) not sure if any of the cmtd files from bannanabread were flashed, if they were you will be best off flashing the cmtd remove.zip or changing mtdmap.txt
or reflash recovery all together if these fixes dont work.
choose a stable rom with gapps included like froyobylazslo so you know it works for everyone else it should work for you

Recently bought the phone from Ebay with a piece of Sim card stuck in the tray. Removed it and started it up and have no sound whatsoever. Doesn't register headphones being put in and nothing from the external speaker. Any ideas on what it could be?

Have you tried flashing a new firmware? I would also wipe all data but pay attention to the fact that it's not safe to wipe under ICS unless you use a kernel that circumvents the brick bug (speedmod, gl_notecore, goku). If Gingerbread is installed wiping is safe. By flashing a new firmware and wiping all data you can exclude a software error.

is there anyway to upgrade TrickDriod Rom from 5.6.0 to 6.0.1 without wiping any apps or data ?!
Yes just flash without wiping the data....
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Not sure how that's gonna work for you cause 6.0.1 creates another folder that your apps go in. I believe that's why he mentions backing up the sd card.
If you read in the thread, you can see that is better flash with a full wipe.
However, you can try a dirty flash.
