I use the normal Facebook widget, but transparent.
I got it from this thread.
I use the one that comes with launcher pro plus.

I'd like a smaller (not 8 spaces, maybe a small 4 spacer) Facebook widget that I can update my status on without seeing others' statuses roll by. Is this available?
Also, I'm new to foursquare, and I'd rather not scroll down my list to open up the app, click over to location, and check in. Any widget with a quick checkin?

While ADW Does allow me to resize, it doesn't ask in what direction. It is cutting off the status entry portion and leaving me with the unwanted section. Solution?
So, I've asked Wunderground themselves about this, but they don't have anything planned. Currently I'm using WeatherBug, and it's good I like the widget. But, I have a personal weather station that uploads to Wunderground and would love to have a widget I could use just like the WeatherBug one so I can check my weather without having to go to a website.
Does anyone know if there is an app (that includes a widget) that connects to Wunderground to pull data?

I'm not 100% sure because I stopped using it, but I believe beautiful widgets has the option to pull it from weather underground. Worth looking into if you need it.
From looking at their website, they pull from either Accuweather or Google.

Weather forecast widget by Francois Deslandes in the Market has a Weather Underground source selection. I don't know whether or not that works in the free version.

Loaded that and trying it now. Seems to be a bit off from Wunderground, but much closer than WeatherBug for my location. Will give it a few days to see how accurate it is.

SNS, email, car home, weather and clock, preloaded apps. For me battery life has increased. Now always get 30+ hours from it without worry

Uninstalled:
o F-Secure
o Car Home
o LG Email (installed stock android e-mail instead, it actually works with Exchange.)
o PC Suite
o On Screen Phone and related services
o LG Launcher (don't do this unless you're sure you'll not need to factory reset.)
o SNS (Twitter/Facebook, official apps are better.)
o All LG-widgets except for Messages and Calendar.
o Voice Search
If you're unsure if uninstalling an app will mess up your phone, just freeze it instead. (If you're using Titanium Backup, which you should, you can get it to remove it from the Market and app-screen as well, making it appear completely uninstalled. If your phone doesn't do anything strange for a week then it's probably safe to uninstall it for real.)

thanks TrymHansen...
i do have Titanium backup pro. i'm a veteran of the galaxy i7500, so i did alot of freezing and uninstalling.
i opened this thread to compile a list of safe prof uninstalling so everyone will benefit
from it.
your reply is great contribution in that cause.
How you uninstalled all these apps?
Optimus2XPrime -
1. you need to have root (read how to in the Development sector).
2. you need to install any uninstalling tool from the market (Titanium backup for example).
3. you need to be very careful with what you uninstall so the phone will still be usable.
4. advice - uninstall stuff thet you read others have and reported it's fine...

P.S some minutes after my post I found the answer
what does freeze do ?
removes selected app from app drawer and cannot be started by user and/or system. like they are uninstalled, but still there, occupying few megabytes. can easily be un-freezed from Titanuim
Isnt there any free software ? titanium is paid one

its not SMS, its S N S Facebook/Twitter/Myspace app
if you want to freeze the SMS app, you need to freeze MMS.apk
Why does the Facebook app always seem to be running in the backgound?
Even after a reboot, the app is running - usually 2 diferent services - media upload and notification checker or something.
With an X8, there's not much spare RAM, so to have facebook take up anywhere from 8mb to 16mb of ram is a problem for me.
Is there a way to stop this background activity without having to go to Applications>Running Services>STOP all the time, or, is there an alternative to the facebook app that behaves itself better?
Thanks

Yes it's old bug I try to log off from facebook but it's always back to running services. I fix that with unistall, if I need fb I install it direct from SD:cyclops:
I just uninstalled both facebook and twitter, and will try seesmic for a while.

Ohh yes, I forgot. I use SEESMIC on gcr and after log off there are not backgreound apps from seesmic :good::laugh:
What I do is I "freeze" the app.
That means the app is installed , but it can not run in the memory.
When I need the app again , I simply "defrost" it.
That way I am able to use the app whenever I want and I can simply and quickly switch between Freezing and Defrosting.
I use this application free on Google Play called "Chef's Freezer"
