friends, please help, share me your opinions/experience..
my X1 is totally dead now, my friend said that the IC power shorts and dead already..
is it okay to change a non-original IC power? because I must wait for so long to repair it in SE, whereas the non-original replacement only 3-4 days..
i think it's ok as long as power ic code is same as original one
I have the same problem here. My X1 is no longer working due to bad power ic, I leave i Nigeria where there's no SE support and cant find a replacement ic. Where can i get a replacement ic, please help.
how can you tell if its the IC thats not working ?
bring it to sony care center
in Vietnam it costs about 30 to 40 usd

One day I was charging my Milestone via USB and I unplugged it. The USB pins came out with the charger. My carrier told me that it was user-induced damage and not covered by the warranty, as well as telling me that you can't replace the charging port, so I'd simply have to buy a new phone.
This was quite unacceptable to me, so I went around to cellphone repairing shops and none of them have been able to fix it. In fact, the most recent attempted fix has left the back panel ripped apart, too!
The phone was in perfect condition before.
So does anyone know where I can find this elusive charging port - is it so special to the milestone that I can't replace it with another phone's USB port? I also need international shipping. Yes, pigs fly.
I have a dead Motorola Droid.
It sure is the same charging port.
PM if you are interested, I can ship worldwide.

I see you're still trying to get your phone to work. I may take you up on the offer, but I'm going to try one last phone technician to see if he can fix it. If he can't, I'll find out if it's just because of the port or because of general incompetence. Then I might be able to take the phone off you. Thanks for the offer.
Hi I am looking for a motherboard for my milestone. I am from Germany. My Milestone has a water damage. The only thing that does not work is the touch.
I think if I were an undamaged motherboard in it have ,it work again.
Does your motherboard?
Dear Greetings from Germany Misch xD
won't you need a new touch panel as well? if ur mother board failed, how did u determine touch doesn't work?
Hi
Hmm I think that the motherboard is damage. Because it has water damage suffered.
but maybe I should first install a new touch. Although I think the honest, the motherboard is scrap.
Do you have to sell a Touch?
thx
I recently sent my phone into their service center for repair. Power button is dead. I was 3 days out of warranty (darn!) and talked to the service girl in Singapore for a discount in handling fee ($53.50) but I'll pay for the parts. I wonder what is the quote they usually give out for just the power button fix (my phone is unlocked and running MIUI at the time I'm sending to them, with DT A2SD+).
Assuming the out of warranty is not relevant now, how much do they charge to replace the button? Would it just the button or they have to change the whole board? Anyone has done this before?
Thanks.
yes i had the same problem,in my country youcan't find any google service, and my nexus one has no warranty and no guarantee!
i found someone who had a totally dead nexus one,he was selling his nexus's spare parts, and the person who was repairing my nexus told me (before i find that guy)to find a new logic board and i'll replace it for you,so i bought the whole logic board from that guy and it cost me 95$!!! but it woth ,because i bought my nexus 750$,but u have another way! not sure how exactly, you can bridge your power button and the main power path on your logic board with a wire, but i think it's risky some how! because the repair man who told me this way also told me that it doesnt have any difference for you! it's like your power btton is always conncted to your phone's power path on it's chipset, and i chose to spend more money than risk to save money!

It depends on whether the plastic button is broken or the actual connection on the logic board. However even if it was just the plastic button the chances are they'll still replace the logic board, especially if it's out of warranty and you need to pay for replacement parts.

Thanks Pal. Yeah, 3K seems to be THE cheapest price i got after checking many Samsung Service centers at the moment but not sure how it can vary this drastically. Wondering if it would be original board. Anyway shall check again.
BTW, do we get these kinda motherboards in open market so we can fix it ourselves?
Thanks
Jei Kumar
Did you brick your device or something?
The samsung service center guys always say that you need to replace the motherboard to unbrick it. But actually, they just use jtag to fix your device! If you have warranty, you need not worry. But if you don't, then it is very difficult to get your phone fixed.
The last time I bricked my phone, they said the motherboard is 5000k.
Good luck!

Havent bricked yet but got water poured on it accidently. Its functioning all well but got problem with charging. The battery icon graphic shows the "charging" status even after unplugged. And much worse is the phone gets switched off in 15-20 mins though it was put on charge for hours together.
The warranty is over so had dis assembled every accessory from the motherboard and tried cleaning the board and power connector unit with spirit, axe/denim deodarant and what not.... no good so far...
Surpise is, the phone still works well while its on ... Love this phone

When checked the same service cemter today, they claim the price to be INR 4400
Had asked them if they can get me the board so i can fix it myself but it also seem to be not possible as they claim the board would be blank without any IMEI # and they had to update the board with my IMEI #
Seems like no other option now than to replace the board.
Thanks everyone.

not a solution, as I did it already twice, after a week or two you need to do the same. Probably the only option is to change the motherboard.

Hello i had same problem with phone. Totally dead, then i read on forum that it is probably pmi8994 chip on motherboard that was defected. I order that chip from aliexpress( must know what version is chip on your phone). Mine was pmi8994 002. I paid 8$ on aliexpress for two of them(you need only one) and 35$ for replacement. After replacement it come alive and working fine more than half year. I hope this will help.

It was suddenly power off and didn't want to turn on. I put it on charger (before failure battery was around 70%), but it didn't power on and notification light for charging was very dim and blinking. Then i check my domestic forum and got solution from one user who had same problem.

How did you change the chip? I saw a video on Youtube that describes the procedure of changing a chip, and looks like it is definitely nothing for laymen.

Thanks for your reply! Sorry to hear that it didn't help.
I need a motherboard for Redmi 3s Prime 32gb (land).
My phone was dropped from a height of about about 10 inch's and its motherboard had some issues. The service center asked for Rs 3500(37$)[Base price is 2599 +350 service charge and 18% tax] for the motherboard. So im looking for a cheaper motherboard as i have to exchange this phone as soon as possible.
Also im looking for its button connector i.e Power and Volume buttons whose strap got cut in between.
If anyone has any idea from where can i get please share. (already checked aliexpress).
Thank You !
You SURELY CAN find lock key and sound rocker cable on AliExpress, as I had the same problem after disassembling it not carefuly. It's about 3-5$. But have no idea about motherboard

Don't trust on Xiaomi Service centre . They were charging me Rs. 6000 for the motherboard replacement(The fact was that I had brought the phone itself at Rs. 6999 (Redmi 3S 2gb variant)). I got the phone repaired at some local shop at Rs. 2000 (TouchScreen Replacement and Other things replacment). Motherboard itself stores the IMEI and other essential information, so it is equivalent to buying a new phone, don't go for new motherboard, go for local repair or buy a new phone (Realme is much better option in India)
Do you still have the phone or just replaced it?
As of now I have the motherboard you asked for but I'm also trying to fix my phone myself but couldn't found a dead Redmi 3s prime to replace out the motherboard
