So the Nexus One Sleeve Holds the Nexus S Pretty Nicely - Nexus S Accessories

Not much more to be said other than that. Thought I'd throw the info out there for prospective buyers. It leaves a very small amount of the phone sticking out the top and since the volume / power buttons are on the sides they can sometimes be pushed by the sleeve. It will do for me until Otterbox comes out with a NS case.

case
I was using the old nexus one case too, but I just got a neoprene case made for the nexus s from ebay for $3 shipped.

After getting the Nexus S, I couldn't find any case that I liked. And BB told me to get the hard case they were selling. I declined. Now I am using my old G1 pouch/sleeve temporarily.

Gel Case & Vertical Belt Case?

I plan on getting a Nexus S within the week (luckily my store got 25 of them) and was wondering if anyone has seen any good gel cases and belt cases for the Nexus S? Specifically a vertical belt case, I already have a ton of horizontal ones and would like a vert one.

the platinum series case at best buy is very nice. the one for $34.99 comes with a vertical clip
Actually the platinum series case is garbage
. Its loose on the phone and very flimsy. Don't buy
+1 I bought the case but am extremely disappointed. It's very loose near the volume rocker. I'm taking it back Monday.
If you didn't Get the phone now. You aren't getting it in the next week or so

UK Bargain PDair Leather Case

I picked up a Streak in the recent sell off and am loving it - have upgraded to Streakdroid 2.3 (really easy with a bit of background reading even for someone coming to Android for the first time). I picked up the Otterbox commuter case but never really got on with it - I prefer leather flip cases so decided to look what was out there apart from the many derivations of the "PU leather" cases you can see on ebay.
Morpeth Mobiles are selling off their stock of PDair cases for the Streak at only £5 delivered (UK) rather than the usual £30+ that these seem to go for. I think the Tuff Luv case generally seems to get a better reception (and is a little cheaper at RRP) but I decided to try one of these for a fiver and am happy enough with it (its the flip style rather than the book style folio that I think PDair also do).
Anyway, if anyone wants to buy one you will have to google as I'm a new user and can't post outside links (before anyone asks, I have no relationship with Morpeth Mobiles whatsoever other than as a purchaser of this case). I don't know how many they have but they are still showing up at £5 this morning

Welcome to the forums, you have been registered for 4 years, and posted 4 years later?
Nevermind, thanks for the heads up, i have bought one.
Not sure if it matters but in the interests of full disclosure, I had a Dell Axim PDA back in the day which I got rid of and then did not rediscover the forums until I got my streak.

Glad you can join us on the twilght of the Dell Streak. Shame the price was £199, its hardly the £75 they were selling them for in the states at the end of life. There again, Dell support is so crap, they would have to pay me to take a another piece of their kit on.
Its a great phone, but mine had a dead earpiece from new. Absolute rubbish, whatever happened to quality control.
You buy a nice shiny new phone, then they give you someone elses if it becomes faulty.

Review PDAir Flip Case
I ordered this case and it arrived today, so i will give it a quick review.
I have used a PDAir case before for my Sony-Ericsson P1i, but that time it was a aluminium case. The quality of this leather case is very nice, well stitched.
It has a magnetic catch that holds the flap securely closed, 3 pockets in the flap for credit cards, business cards or memory cards. There are cutouts for the PDMI port, power and camera buttons,
The top sides of the device are not protected so you have total access to volume buttons and headphone jack. The case fits tightly, i doubt you could fit the phone with a extended battery installed, might be possible but i doubt it. There are 5 holes punched in the back to allow sound out of the speaker and cut outs for the 3 capacitative buttons, microphone and screen, earpiece and front facing camera and sensor.
To use the main camera you have to pull the flap right back to allow it to be used.
There is no belt clip, so it will have to go in a pocket, or a bag.
Generally fits nice and keeps the phones slim profile, but apart from protecting the screen and back of the device, the sides are very exposed and personally i prefer my Otterbox Defender case, which although chunky provides my delicate streak allround protection apart from the screen, which is protected when in the holster if its put in with the screen facing inwards.
I have attached some photos for those considering this case
Overall, at £4.99 its a reasonable case but i will be sticking with my Otterbox.
The Streak can be bought from Morgan Computers for £199.95 sim free, as for the PDAir case it's great at a fiver (if it was in stock) but not worth the original £30~
Wish they still had these as looks nice but thanks for flagging it up for us maybe they'll get more

My Nexus 7 fits in my Blurex HTC Flyer case..

So I saw the post about the Blurex coming out with a Nexus 7 case so I thought I would try it in my HTC Flyer case I had laying around.. The Nexus fit into the case perfectly and it holds it nicely, but I did not have access to the 2 buttons on the side.. I cut the side of the case with the only thing I could find handy (wire strippers) and hacked it up but I made it so I could use the buttons and have a nice functional case now. The case is only $19.99 on Amazon shipped because the Flyer is out of production and might not be worth it to some but will work fine because I had it laying around..
The cuts look awful but can be cleaned up and made to look almost perfect with 5 minutes of work..
Here is a link to the case.. I know if the Nexus 7 Blurex comes out soon and costs the same then this is a stupid option, but if the Nexus 7 Blurex case ends up being $29.99 or more than I think the $20 one is worth it..

Using a Pelican case with N7

Hi guys,
Just putting this info up for anyone who may be interested. Suggestions/comments always welcome I'm new to the board, so unfortunately, I'm not allowed to post links (you can find all these on Amazon)
I was looking to get a durable case that would fit my new N7. In particular, I was after the Pelican 1055CC. It should also fit a Pelican 1060 case.
After PM-ing a few people on these boards who have owned this case for the N7, it seems that that fit for the N7 is good but not perfect (It seems the N7 slides around a little within the case).
It looks like Pelican also makes the Pelican Pick N Pluck system, which is basically a set of customizable foam pieces that are made to fit in specific Pelican case models. You can find this on their website or on Amazon.
I have this case and with the tpu case i have on my N7, the movement isn't bad. I would recommend the pelican case in a heartbeat.

In my search for a tough case for the N7, I decided to get a Pelican 1055CC. Only thing is, I am not sure how to find this in Europe. I don't want to order it from the US, as it is already pretty expensive. Do you have any ideas if there are any resellers, or should I contact pelican directly?
Not cheap - http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb...d-keywords=Peli+1055CC&rh=i:aps,k:Peli+1055CC
No, but the price is kinda ok. It's very close to the quote I got straight from Peli, however the reseller they sent me to, only deals with companies.
This one from Amazon isn't ok either. For some reason they won't let me use a shipping address outside of UK.
I will keep searching.
EDIT: Found an online Peli reseller in germany. Only 55 euro with transport included. Placed the order, should have it in 3 - 4 days.
Pelican cases will never be cheap, but you get what you pay for. I have them for my rifles and they are great. One of the ones I had fell out of a plane and broke. They sent me a new one for free.

Peli case arrived this morning. It looks great. Good build quality, not too bulky but very sturdy. Didn't get a chance to put the Nexus in yet as I am at work but from what I read around, there might be some space left in the case. If this is true and it will have some play, seems that I can insert some sort of foam sheet under the case lining. It is glued in, but looks like it can be lifted in some parts.
If anyone is curious about this, or you need pictures, close-ups, any extra details, let me know.

Nexus 7 really needs a back case?

Its an accessories related question and i hope its ok to ask here. I just received my Nexus 7 32GB and loving it! As what i would do usually, I immediately started looking for back cases / covers / pouches for this lovely device and then I tought, does it really need one? The material at the back doesnt look like the one that could easily be scratched. But then I see so many cases around and people using them. Maybe to better protect the device when/if it falls? I dont like folio cases anyway and only buying a back case looks like a waste.
Any suggestions?

It can get scratched. I have mine in a case almost all the time and I found a scratch on mine somehow
While it's not essential, I'd still go with a case, because you just never know what may befall your new shiny tablet. Since a lot of cases on the market appear to be cheap and ugly, buy something that is well built and from quality materials. This may set you back $50 or more, but trust me, it's well worth it. The tablet will just feel better in your hand, more secure, and you won't have to worry about the screen being scratched or it getting dinged on the side.
Ever since I got my Norever leather case I like the way my N7 feels way more than it does without it.
If you're only interested in a "back case" then I would consider the Incipio Feather. Here's my review. The Feather did come with a screen protector, but I'm with the others in this thread and I would just go with a full case to protect the whole thing.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The Feather was provided to me by Incipio for the purpose of review. I do not receive any compensation for my reviews.
Protection required
I would have to agree that i enjoy having my nexus out of a case . I like the feel of the back and for me it would not get scratched as im careful.. But I use it while im out and about all the time.. I have almost dropped it a few times.I think if you drop this device and it hits the edge of bezel The screen will crack. So i recommend having a nice case . For me i have the bobjgear silicone case . It does add bulk and the nice look of the device . But it provices alot of protection.

I am thinking of a simple plain matte black slim tpu case. Let's see if I can find one.

Well, having dropped my N7 twice, I can attest to getting a case for the Nexus lol. Both drops were from at least 3 feet and the first one went down rolling to the sidewalk from my truck in my Treegloo case. The N7 came unscathed but the Treegloo had an indentation that could barely notice. The second fall was in the garage cement floor. This time the fall was straight down back side down and went SPLAT. I freaked!:silly: and immediately took it out and found it turned on fine and the glass was uncracked. So I went inside and put the N7 down but noticed the cover didn't sit flush like it normally did, so I took the N7 out of the case and saw the backing corners were coming undone and I had to press down to re-snap them back into the corners again.
Now the treelgoo has been semi-retired now that I have the Seidio Active case on. It works because I now also use the Kropsson Aero modded universal car mount and using the treegloo wouldn't work in that case.
Simply... Yes
as in the title yes, I have had a couple of small falls and one or two larger ones, and having the stock official ASUS ones may have saved it a lot of times, so getting any that will have some bump protection is a definite go ahead
call it insurance
I like the naked feel of the N7 in my hand. It's just right. The options available are all over the map. Those folding contraptions remind me of the old paper maps that I could never get right. The armored ones look like two handers and you are going to drop test it because it's a job just to handle all that bulk. I'm going with a leather YooMee pouch [correction: they call it a sleeve] for transport purposes and working the N7 raw.
Noticed Otterbox just announced the Defender series for the N7.
I like Otterbox but $70 is too expensive for a plastic case. Hell, you get a hand made leather Noreve case for $72.

I think this would be good. I am not too worried about dropping it but more want to protect it from scratches. A nice leather pouch is what I need. Thanks! Off to eBay

I only use a case outside of my house, otherwise for reading and such I go caseless. I have carpet everywhere and even with a couple drops it's not damaged. It's pretty solid.

You're right about that. I figure once things settle down they'll run in the $50 neighborhood. Still, as much as I love Otterbox, I'm afraid it will add too much bulk and that's entirely too much for a stand.
I've had all sorts of adventures with my nexus 7, and to be honest back plate is as good as new, the silver border however is a different story.
I went with a Cruzerlite TPU case $19 doesn't add any bulk really comes in all colors with cool design on the back (they are the androids)
