Does anyone knows where can I find Samsung folder with Audio and Video? I've deleted them and now any firmware I flash doesn't install them. I want to have them back.
Thanks
Hi,
I've just flashed a SingTel version of firmware to my Galaxy S and I would like to revert the splash screen and shutdown screen to the original Samsung's version. I've search the forum and googled for it but can't seem to find any.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Replace system/media folder in ur phone with this one
the download is slow.
Thanks for the fast reply. I'll download it and try it out.
UPDATE: The files replacement works. I only replaced bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg and all files in shutdown folder. In the firmware shutdown folder, there is a .cfg file. That file need to be deleted, else the shutdown sequence would not play until the end.
I have searched - and found some circa 2008 bits on how to change startup images, but they all seem very tecky (Way out of my depth . .) I am just trying to remove my Vodafone flash video on my rooted SGS. It seems to me that it is not a simple matter . . . oh dear!!!
If you mean how to change the bootanimaton here is your tips:
with root explorer or a similar program navigate to /system/media and delete the bootanimation.zip file or replace it with one other.
I hope this will help you. Of course to do so your device must be rooted.
Just flash a kernel that supports boot animations with sgs kernel flasher, then get a boot animation changer apk and choose a boot animation you like

I find this annoying as well.
If I follow these instructions and flash to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=992251
will this remove the logo?
Go to their forum, they will know!

I have a galaxy y, recently I rooted it. I installed Rom Toolbox to change my boot screen. Even i changed it bt when i boot my phone it doesnot play my coustom boot animation. It only plays its original Samsung Boot animation. For verfication i wen inside system/media to check my bootanimation.zip bt the file contain my coustom boot screen. Bt still it plays the original one. Kindly help me plz. :-(
So it's not bootanimation.zip then. Open your /init.rc then search for "boot" or "anim". I guess the file is called "samsungani" or something like that.

- Open Root Explorer and go to system/bin
- Find and move "samsungani" to the SD card ( for Backup)
- Rename existing files "bootanimation" in the System/bin with "samsungani"
- overwrite files "bootanimation.zip" who have downloaded earlier to the system/media
- Reboot ....

When you browse the system folder using Root Explorer, right below your status bar you'll see a button which says "Mount R/W" >>> this means your system folder is currently mounted as read only. Tap this button so it changes to "Mount R/O" >>> this means your system folder is mounted as read-write.

Sorry can't help, but hopefully my reply will garner more attention. I'm also bugged by this. I can't seem to find a way to get rid of it. I tried flashing AKOP milestone 5 and I see it there.
Hey! Maybe... Just MAYBE u can do it by following these:
-download GOO Manager from Play Store
-in Goo manager, select "Browse all files"
-then select "Themes"
-and find a theme with boot logo included!
-hope i helped!!!!
guys all you need to do is to find the bootanimation.zip on the rom you like and copy that file to /system/media overwriting the existing file.
Hope it helps
changing the boot animation will not change the boot logo
