[Q] cannot edit exchange event created with outlook - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I'm runnig xxjpy on my galaxy s. The trouble is I can't edit exchange event anymore if it has been created with outlook. If i create an event with the device, the option to edit the event is there but not if it's created from outlook. I think it was working in the previous firmwares. Anyone has a clue?
Thanks

My experience is that this feature has been lost coming from Eclair 2.1 to Froyo. The only workaround i have found is to use another calendar like Touchdown, loosing integration with the built-in calendar in the progress

[Q] Exchange Calendar Synch with Froyo

hey guys,
Bear with me here. My boss just came in asked me how to make his Droid with Froyo 2.2 Calendar work with our Exchange server. My experience with Android has been limited playing with XDandroid on my Tilt2...so I'm no expert.
Here's what he's got...
1)Gmail account w/ calendar is syncing correctly
2) Corporate Exchange acct - email synch's, event's created in Outlook on the PC synch with Exchange server & phone... but Events created on the phone do not synch with the Exchange server & PC.
Is the google calendar F'ing him up? or is he just SOL?
EDIT TO ADD:
The problem has been identified as PEBKAC. He wasn't specifying the Exchange calendar when creating events on the phone....

[Q] Cannot edit Corporate Calendar Events on designgears Froyo ROM

I have recently upgraded to the I897UCJI6-OCD-REV02-Low-designgears Froyo ROM on my AT&T Samsung Captivate and absolutely love it but...
I'm having an issue with the Corporate Calendar Events (i.e. Exchange) that did not occur on Eclair. Specifically, I cannot Edit events that I receive from others. I know that it is no longer possible to select Edit from the Event Details menu in Froyo but when I hold down on the Event in the Calendar View; it get the "Unable to Edit this Event" message.
The problem is that many of my Corporate Calendar Events don't have alarms set on them by default so my Captivate does not notify me when the Event is occurring so I end up being late or missing some of my appointments.
Can anyone help me determine how to add an alarm to a Corporate Calendar Event on the Samsung Captivate running the I897UCJI6-OCD-REV02-Low-designgears Froyo ROM.
Thanks in Advance!

Finally Ive got it.
You need to stop all calendar tasks and delete their cache...
Reboot and you got it!!!

Hi
Did this work for anyone else?
I stopped and cleared the following services,

[Q] Exchage folders problem - change email apk

Hi guys,
Moving from WM to android is creating me more problems than expected
Apologies if I make a few noob questions.
I got a Galaxy tab, and everything works fine expect the email apk which is not able to show the folders of my corporate email account. I've seen that this problem affect other people/devices, but couldn't find a working solution.
Funny enough, I got my old Blackstone running XDAndroid working fine with the same exchange account and showing all my email folders and sub folders.
I've seen the $20 touchdown, but I'd prefer a native solution, so my questions are:
- Understand that after rooting I'll be able to replace the Samsung mail apk. What would be the procedure?
- I would like try the email apk from the XDAndroid. do you see any limitation for this apk to work on the tab.
- is it possible to get the HTC mail apk (sense) working in the Tab? does someone have a working apk?
- Any other solution to show the exchange email folders into our Tab?
Thanks in advance
Funny, i had same idea with HTC Mail.apk but found nothing on web.
So anybody want to port HTC Mail to Galaxy Tab?
~ from Tab using XDA App. ~
HTC's email.apk needs sense, and would be nearly impossible to port it without using a sense rom as a base.
Exchange(2007 SP2) and subfolders works great though on my tab.
Also i've noticed that there are some differences between my stock rom and overcome, so you could try that.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
hi YoMark,
Can you pls let me know which Email version are you running? (just go to aplication/manage applications/all/Email.
Mine is version 2.2 and it is not showing the exchange folders/subfolders (exchange 2007)
I also have the email 2.2 apk and while mails and folders load fine, it takes ages (1 min at least) on startup and any switch and email apk is prone to force close (especially when switching between mails or switching to another app)
I reported this months ago, but no solution has been found yet... Only thing I hate about the tab, as I have 0 productivity with Emails

[Q] Exchange Status Override after Sync

Hi everyone,
It's my first post hope that someone can help and thanks in advance. I have a SGS I9000, since I updated to 2.3.3 i have a problem with calendar sync. If for example, I create an appointment using my outlook exchange calendar and mark the calendar as busy. After I sync with my phone I notice that the calendar status has been changed to free. I have notice 2 things on the gingerbread 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 they have an added field on calendar settings called "My staus" which by default is free and it seemd to override all other status. I have also confirmed this is not the case with froyo 2.2. I have colleagues with sgs II 2.3.3 who have the same problem.
Is there a work around it. This is a pontetially big problem for users I have at work. Can anyone help
Thank you,
Jack
