I've decompiled your Phone.apk. (In case anyone is interested: he sets a wakelock in PhoneGlobals.setBeginningCall and releases it in updatePhoneState to prevent the system from sleeping during a call)
This is a suitable workaround, but it doesn't solve the root cause. And unfortunately, this is why I cannot integrate it in my CM builds.

[FIX] GSM-fix for all AOSP 4.1.x-4.4.x ROMs

This is worked GSM-fix for all AOSP based ROMs by Xcrash (Graycrash on XDA)
If you want have all APN-s just reset default APN`s from settings.
Also attached zip for flash GSM-fix + bootanimation form stock + SLIM perfomance control + touch sound from Liquid Smooth 2.9.
NOTE: if the build.prop in future versions of the ROMs changes, this may cause problems. Don't be surprised if it does. Don't use it on non-4.3 ROMs unless you like softbricks
Please note for flashers in the far future: if the build.prop in future versions of the ROMs changes, this may cause problems. Don't be surprised if it does. Don't use it on non-4.3 ROMs unless you like softbricks

My tutorial on GSM unlock works, no "fix" necessary. Easiest and safest method, other than the Radiocomm method which works too but doesn't always stick. Either one works fine

The stock rom is already nv edited, I was wondering if there were any other steps on 4.1.2, such as build.prop edits.

If its not working then the edit reverted itself. Run through my tut with CDMAWS and it should work
What does this script basically do? What lines does it changes in the build.prop? Does it only change the build.prop or is it working on other files?
I've flashed CM10.2 ROM on my Razr M (Verizon, bootloader and root unlocked). To make all this work in Italy (in GSM mode) I just changed three parameters in the build.prop file:
"telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1" from 1 to 0
"telephony.rilV7NeedCDMALTEPhone=true" from true to false
"ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc=1" from 1 to 0
Everithing works fine now (2G, 3G, 2G+3G, switching networks)... Doea this script add something to my modifications? Is there some other parameter I may change to make the phone work better in GSM mode?
You can use this patch.
This patch is a stable patch and you can install it on every rom to fully enable gsm.
#Postedit
Only now i checked the patch in the first post and that patch is a mod of my patch with some lines removed and with this lines added:
Code:
telephony.rilV7NeedCDMALTEPhone=false
ro.cdma.subscribe_on_ruim_ready=false
I could update my patch if Graycrash can tell me why this mod.
For now you can test both patches and check which works correctly.
Feedbacks are appreciated.

Yeah one could do that.
One could also just open and edit their own mixer_paths.xml and change values to ones own liking and save.
But the number one question that would pop up would be: can you make a flashable zip?
Yes I can. There you go
As with any problem there is several solutions
I choose to give the easiest one.
Can I flash this on CM11 4.4.4
No. There is another mod here that's made from the cm11 file needed. Take that one.
Does it work well on latest build?

It should ?
I think it needs an update. Somethings changed in CM12 build from 28th or 29th dec. After flashing this fix speaker stops working, at least for me.

You will need someone else using Android 6.0 MM to send you the original version of this file: /system/fonts/NotoColorEmoji.ttf
I'm on Lollipop so I can't help you there. Perhaps one of the Marshmallow system dumps online might have it?
If you find the stock version of this file, copy it to /system/fonts and set permissions to -rw-r-r

Check /system/fonts folder to see if there is a file named NotoColorEmoji.ttf. If you have a file with this name, take a backup of it and flash this ZIP to see if it works. If it doesn't, restore your backup ttf file and set permissions to -rw-r-r

make sure your rom is DEODEXED to use this font. need root or not i don't know because i'm root, but the important is the rom must be DEODEXED

I'm not at my computer right now, but I can build you one.
If you want to do it yourself, find a zip that extracts something to the /system directory and you can also just replace whatever's in it with the APK and the framework directory. The script should have " extract /system/ " so it'll work either way.
