Hi guys,
I have a strange problem, when i installed lagfix; i am not able to access the wifi routers which have wap/wap2 encryptions, but i am able to access the routers which have no security encryption or have WEP ones...
Is this problem related with the lagfix? I have installed Vodoo version of lagfix...
I an running android 2.2.1 froyo JPY... Also i have rooted the phone...
Any ideas for this matter?
Smells like wrong password .
Delete wifi settings and connections reboot and refind .

I had that problem.
I installed different firmware and it was fixed.
Do a complete wipe and start fresh, should work.
(I think I had JPX, then once I flashed to JPY, it was fixed)

I just finally got sick of waiting for an official Froyo(Bell isn't about to give me an upgrade anyhow.) So I went to a froyo rom that was based on one of the stock roms. But I figured since I'm rooted anyhow why not play around, and grabbed cyanogen 6.1 and installed it. Then I end up with the issue of its not connecting to my wifi, I have no issues on the stock 2.2 roms. One thing I have noticed is the cyanogen shows the network as wep, but it's actually wpa encrypted. I flashed into it from the stock without clearing it first and it worked until I shut off and came back to it. Any ideas on what might be the issue. I'm fairly new but I did look and couldn't find anything to fix this.
I assume you flashed 6.1 stable version? I have no issue whatsoever on my device (and I also used official froyo previously). Did you wipe all before flashing 6.1?
He said he "flashed without cleaning"...so I presume no wipe. This could be the problem, a wipe is strongly adviced if going to CM from a non CM ROM. Also check the number of WiFi channels set by default in advanced settings of wifi. It is set for 11 and if the router is set to 13 or 14 it could not work

I had the same problem when i was installing CM6.1. (with wipe)
The phone could just se a wep version of my network and not the wpa that i have. But after i turned on and off the wifi a couple of times i suddenly saw the wpa version of my network and after i connected to that the problem was solved. I also did click "forget network" on the wep version.
Hope this will help you

Trying this now but no go. Sometimes will flash it as wpa and then jump back to wep. This is after a full wipe. What I was trying to say was once I flashed in without wiping and it worked for a bit but jumped right back to not working, after the phone going to sleep.
Bump.
Any insight into this issue? Still only reading my network as wep.
Try installing "WiFi Advanced Configration Editor" from the market. You should be able to change to WPA manually with it.
Did you try to reset your wifi router?sometimes the issues came up from wifi router, not the phone itself.
Mine is fine. I share my broadband wifi to my phone using connectify.
The only problem remains is wifi disconnect frequently, but I heard that it's due to a new kernel which I use (.32 kernel)
hope it helps
Ya reset the router a few times, and it still came up like that. I did install the wifi advance config software mentioned it seemed to fix it. I didn't actually set anything up on it and it seems to have fixed it. Thanks.
CM 6.1 messed up my wifi. Wiped everything, but it suddenly doesn't find my networks.
Wiped again and restored nandroid backup of working rom but STILL the same issue now!! Can I flash the wifi drivers again somehow?
My university's wifi network has the following setup:
Authentication:
WPA2 or WPA (WPA2 is preferred)
Encryption:
AES or TKIP (AES is preferred) with WPA2 Authentication, TKIP with WPA Authentication.
802.1x/EAP Type:
PEAP
Authentication Method:
MS-CHAP V2
I can connect using Ginger DX, but if the connection drops, I have to forget the network and reenter it, otherwise it just scans and disconnects.
Has anyone solved this? I have tried replacing tiwlan.ini in system/etc/wifi, but that didn't help.
Thanks
Asy I tried out some 2.3 ROMs I noticed this bug in all of them. And only when WPA2 encryption has been set. Someone please try to solve this, because WPA2 is the safest and the best solution for keeping the LAN safe. (now that was a really beautiful sentence XD )
I have the same authentication processing on my university but with my gingerdx (v17) it doesnt work... i cant connect to the wifi...
i have used WACE (wifi advanced configuration) too... still not work.
can someone help me?
You should try to change rom on any base on fb or gingerxperia v7 - on this i only dont have connection problems with eduroam cer. connection. I dont know why but when i try to change files ab wifi from working roms to f.example gingerdx i lose all results in schearching So FB pro or Gingerxperia v7 its only solution on this problem.
sory form my english
Does anyone have a solution for this??
I have the same issue on my X10 Mini running MiniCm7 2.1.4 (Android 2.3)
Is there a way to copy files needed for wifi from a previous ROM? Android 2.1 was working OK on wifi 801.2 enterprise. So I would like to copy files from an Android 2.1 Rom (e.g. Stock rom) to my current ROM. Is this possible? Which files do I need to copy?
I tried already
system/bin/wpa_supplicant
system/bin/tiwlan_cu
system/bin/tiwlan_loader
But then I get "Wifi error" after enabling Wifi ...
802.1x Wifi not working
I have trouble connecting to enterprise 802.1x wi fi connection. It works fine with WEP connection. Further I nticed that while using Froyobread it worked well for both encryptions. Please do fix this problem!
any news about this bugfix?

Nope, but i have read that this patch will be in GingerDX .23.
Still waiting...
Helou everyone,
There is a problem with WPA2 AES in the build doxian used for DX , the phone is constantly conecting and loosing connection while using internet, this problem is known as per this thread > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964199&page=4
The guys there have solved it by replacing files, i do not know if i can use those files for our x8, unfortunatly i cant switch to TKIP as my Soft AP in windows 7 does not allow anything else except wpa2 aes. AdHoc has own problems too.
I appel on developers if they have the solution, or files we could use to make the problem in CM7 go way.
i run Stock kernel on dx v21
Thank you.
the same for me
i tried the files from link but wifi not even on
ad-hoc works for me but when lockscreen activates it crashes
my wifi was working normally until today when i decided to update to ICS so i downloaded medroid and there wifi turned on but couldnt find anythin and the same happens with me after i switched to texasice rom please help me ????

did you flash CM7 or nandroid restore? If you restored and wifi worked, that means, you didn't set up the wifi in your phone after you flashed either texasice or medroid because the wifi data is gone when you did full wipe. Is your wireless network password protected? And is the router set up as DHCP or get the IP static? If static, you have to manually set up your phone again.
Hi,
my router is MAC-Address filter secured. When I flashed Mackay Rom (of course after wiping and that stuff), I couldn't connect to WIFI. It didn't say that I had the wrong password.
Do I have any chance to edit the phone's MAC-Address? Does anyone else recognize this problem?
Oh and don't want to use those spoofer apps...
thanks
