Hi,
We have a problem with an Optimus 2X.
1. We rooted the phone
2. Installed ClockworkMod recovery from ROM Manager (Flash recovery option). Successful window appeared.
3. We boot in recovery mode from ROM Manager.
The phone now hangs on boot at the LG Logo. There is no way to boot in recovery, and there is no way to do a normal boot. (Tried to boot with volumen down and lock buttons pressed, and without pressing volume down...)
It's like there was a flag that forces the phone to "boot in recovery" or something like that.
So we can't boot the phone in any mode...
We also tried smartflash, but nothing...
Any idea? How can we restore it?
Thank you very much in advance...
I would try the procedure at this link: add "http:" infront of my links, for some reason i'm not allowed to post outside links.
//android.modaco.com/content/lg-optimus-2x-2x-modaco-com/335474/25-mar-nvflash-stock-rom-release-v10b-dated-1300166062-15-03-2011/
It uses the nvidia flash tool and will allow you to flash a clean stock rom without booting up the device or going into clockwork.
The stock rom version that you can download on the link above will do fine. After you've flashed the stockrom you can reinstall clockworkmod. If I were you I would do that using these instructions:
//android.modaco.com/content/lg-optimus-2x-2x-modaco-com/335479/10-may-3-0-2-8-clockworkmod-recovery-for-the-lg-optimus-2x/
Basically all you need to do is attach the phone to the computer, make sure usb debugging is enabled and double click the install clockworkmod.bat file found in the extracted zip file downloaded from the link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098745
After that you should be able to flash all the custom roms you want. I hear the latest Cyanogen nightly is pretty stable!
I had the same problem and question a couple of days ago...
Mine also when trying to install CWM..
Follow this link and flash with NVflash and You should be good to go again
http://android.modaco.com/content/l...rom-release-v10b-dated-1300166062-15-03-2011/
I also gave up on the CWM flashing from PC and paid for this app in the market:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.modaco.twoxrecoveryboot&feature=search_result
Its .99 pence so not to bad... remember You NEED ROOT for the CWM recovery flashy thingy
After all flashing I just went with the stock ROM with the 0606 upgraded baseband
Works ok now (flashed with smartflash)
The 0606 baseband ROM can be found here:
Happy unbricking!
Thank you very much to both!
NVflash did the trick and I could fix the full brick!
Now I don't fear anything... nvflash can resurrect it!! xD
Thank you very much!!!!!
THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH GUYS!!!!!!!!
i was messing about for about 5 hours because my apx driver didn't successfully install but i finally found one and got it to work.
i am so relieved. I can sleep easy tonight
once again a huge thanks.
Hi there,
Not long ago i got a P970 and proceeded to root it and install CWM on my device using an all in one solution from this site, unfortunately it didn't seem to create a backup of the stock bootloader and i am unable to perform updates to the device as they all try to boot in to the stock bootloader to finish the update process which is ofc missing, does anyone have a copy of the stock bootloader for the P970, incase its of relevance i'm using one in the UK on the Orange network
I thank you in advance for any replies
Bump anyone got a copy of the bootloader?
If you flash stock vanilla rom it will overwrite CWM with stock.

Couple of small issues is that i dont want to lose everything i've installed and setup so far and the only images i can find of the stock ROM's are .kdz files which use the LG tools to flash and those require me to be able to boot to the standard software update tool found on the phone which doesn't seem to work with CWM installed as i can't do any OTA updates either.
dude, I already answered to you by pm. this cannot be saved, you have to flash again to recover the standard loader. AND, you don't have to boot or something else except going in s/w mode. just backup your apps / datas with 3nd party app then restore them after the flash. standard recovery is absolutely uneeded and is even useless. you might restore full datas with cwm by going into the advanced menu.
Hello everyone
Recently I need to flash my ROM to official ROM - BIN_LGP990AT-00-V10c-EUR-XX-APR-16-2011+0 by SmartFlashTool for p990. Everything was successfully done and everything worked fine, then I rooted my mobile by SuperOneClickv2.3.2-ShortFuse. Again, everything was done well, but the program asked me if I want to install BusyBox, I chose YES, but I think that I hadn't done it. Because then I want to start/boot my android and nothing happened, just LG logo and then nothing only black screen (as like been the system was stuck), no boot logo, nothing even though I wait to boot about 10 minutes. I diceded to try flash my mobile again by SmartFlashTool, but didn't work again. I done everything right, but still 3 sec LG logo then nothing just black screen. I also tryed to get to the Recovery Mod but still no response.
Please VERY PLEASE, WHAT CAN I DO NOW??? HOW CAN I FLASH SOME NEW ROM WITHOUT SmartFlashTool and Recovery Mode or how can i FIX this problem?
P.S.:SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH
Hi. I would suggest to you to flash the original ROM thru SmartFlash tool, the .bin and .fls files. After that, root it again. It will be successful if you can see the Superuser App in the list of apps. Then, install CWM version 5.0.2.8 and do NANdroid backup (if you have problems on the ROM you have flash, you can flash the backup anytime you want!). Select the ROM you want, download, put it on your SDcard, do the 3 wipes (factory, cache partition, then davlik [advanced]). Everything must be working, if you those things correctly.
Hope it helps.

This is the NVFlash Cleaner for SU660
the LG official V30C firmware of the SU660 have different partition layout
so If you want to install the CyanogenMod 10 official Nightly build on to your ICS installed SU660 device, you have to rollback to the GB firmware to make it compatible with CM7/CM10 using smartflash or nvflash.
This NVFlash Cleaner helps rollback your ICS firmware to GB.
but all partitions will be ERASED, the old GB bootloader restored and the CWM5 will be installed onto both the boot and the recovery partitions.
The size of the NVFlash cleaner is only about ~5MB!
Cautions
●before using the NVFlash Cleaner, backup your device and copy backuped files into your PC.
●The internal storage will be erased, you have to format your internal storage before use it.
Procedure
1. Prepare APX mode.
2. run flash.bat to format your phone.
ChangeLog
● CWM5.0.2.8e update : support changing font

Thank you very much, this will save ICS user a great length (smartflash back to GB, root, install CWM) now just a click. But I heard aragorn said you have a kernel already. Pls release it - thank you very much. You seem of the highest technical level on SU660 side. Tks again
how can i install zip rom using smart flash or nvflash.??

extract it. and you will have a .bat file. now connect your phone to computer in apx mode (by plugged the cable in when holding volume up and down keys). you should see your computer show apx device connected. then run the .bat file!
How to prepare APX mode? I dont have the drivers either
hey wkpark, do you have a O/C kernel for stock SU660 ICS? :good:
just tested the flash.bat under APX mode (s/w upgrade screen with battery out and press volumn up&down), it is not going anywhere.
Nvflash started

You'd better to use the Smartflash cleaner. It's more faster and easier then the nvflash cleaner
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987772
wkpark. I used the smartflash cleaner to wipe the partition, then install stock ICS and rooted (used Unlock Root), but I still can't boot into CWM?
tried "power+volumn down+home" method, Red LG logo -> the green android guy with neutron stomache ....and boot straight into ICS
also tried rom manager -> "Reboot into Recovery" and it won't work either, it shows the green android lying with red exclaimation mark not going anywhere.
Am I doing it correctly? What should I do?

Red LG logo?
The Red LG logo means you got the newer ice bootloader, seems like you''ve changed your bootloader or the smart cleaner is not correctly packaged by mistake
I will check the bootloader as soon as possible.

EDIT: okay, redo the smartflash cleaner, it can get into CWM...now what's the next step to apply stock ICS and OC kernel?
EDIT2: it seems like the stock ICS will overwrite the smartflash cleaner CWM. Apply smartflash clean (silver LG logo + CWM) -> smartlfash the stock ICS -> red LG logo (no CWM). How do I install CWM back?
EDIT3: very frustrated, tried reinstall CWM using your old method. and get this (see attachement)
please HELP!

v0.6 is out with the newly updated CWM5.0.2.8e
Do you have another way to install CWM? Such as install from SD card? My USB port was broken, and I can't install CWM via APX :|.
OK I am new to using LG's and so far it seems a lot more involved vs the Motorola Droids and Samsungs i've worked wtih. With that said, I AM A NEWB and might have bit myself in the rear.
So I obviously did something wrong... I thought I followed the process meticulously :crying:. Now I cannot mount the /emmc and /system on the internal storage since running nvflashcleaner. What did I do and how do i fix it lol. I downloaded v 0.3 and it wouldn't see the port for the phone. so I d/l'd 0.2 and had the same issue. 0.1 did the wipe no prob but now i'm at a brick wall. I downloaded Gingerbread from LG's site but no good if I can't access the system and the backup I created got wiped off the SD card (i accidently wiped the card) So needless to say, i'm having a bad day even after work LOL. I've got to have this up and running by saturday or i'm going to find myself buying a cheap android to get me by til i can figure this out (a friend already paid me for my existing phone when I got this one on ebay...big mistake I think) any ideas are greatly appreciated!!
*edit* I must add - I am trying to use CWM Recovery and it just hangs at "Nvflash started"
OK I found one download with nvflash that was listed for an SU660 but ended up being for the P990 LOL. outside the touchscreen not working, It booted up to the OS so thats a start. so with that... just have to find the Froyo OS or Gingerbread I can get working on here
helpp
plzz help i try to use that method i came from ics v30c then i flash the pa_jb build 8 10 rom then it always say installation aborted after that i try to flash android paranoid cm9 i successfully flashed it but the problem when i open the gallery, camera it always say the sd card not mounted my sd card card need to be mounted itry to flash the fix made by mr.aragorn the switch mnt sd/etc but nothing happen then i restart my su660 again but not boot up it only stuck on cwm recovery..plz help me i want to flash my su660 in jb hackfest cm10 i didnt like the official ics v30c
hi wkpark
Thanks for doing this!
Unfortunately, I was unable to format my internal sd card from within cwm, and I don't know how to do it with my computer. I ended up being stuck with cwm and a bootloader without being able to transfer any rom zips to my phone. SO, I used this thread to help me roll back the old way. This should help anyone who is in a similar position.

A bug I spot.
The phone wont boot up when the battery is drained and I insert the USB cable. Stock rom will boot normally, but this version will be stuck at the "white lock" screen.
Reverted from ICS v30c with this tool and after can not enter "s/w upgrade" just black screen, can not use smartflash tool, is it possible to fix? but still can use nvflash

When using Smartflash tool, you should be on "Download mode or SW mode" (Turn off phone, pull out battery, run Smartflash tool, hold Volume down and insert USB cable from PC. wait until Smartflash tool detects your phone)
In nvflash, you should be on "APX mode". Before going APX mode, make sure you installed the APX drivers first. Then turn off phone, pull out battery, hold Volume up and down then connect USB cable. wait until PC detected the device as "Nvidia USB Boot-Recovery" in device manager or APX device in notification bar.
Hello everybody! I flashed on my LGP880 the rom eternity(cm10.1) and now i want to come back to stock rom. for me was v10f. but i don't know how because i haven't any PC now and i can't flash the file .kdz
Today i tried to make reset from original recovery but nothing changed and at reboot was again CMboot(eternity rom).
So, i want to ask: there is a way to make fullreset for come back in stock rom ( v10f without root and recovery)?

The only way is to flash .kdz
Or you may go back with cwm backup which was taken before cm install. Don't know wether it work.

If you had taken the stock backup before installing custom rom, you can install the recovery apk form this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123602&page=10 , install it as normal apk, reboot into recovery and restore with your backup.
It worked for me perfectly

There s a way to make Super Reset on 4X HD, but after a super reset guss what comes...
An ULTRA Reset which is basically vol- and Powering 0n the device.
After an ULTRA Reset if you are not satisfied with the results, you can try making an ULTIMATE RESET, by downloading v10h firmware and flashing it with tool called KDZ.
You can find many tutorials about this on the General section on this forum.
You previous system doesnt exist anymore.
Only way to get back to any stock LG Rom is sadly the pc-kdz way
