Hi guys,
Am I missing something? I have a16gb mem card that is busting at the seams...... It won't let me even save a photo on it it's so full! I have a lot of apps, however not enough to fill the mem card. Are there certain folders that store random info I can delete using astro? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Could it have anything to do with a partitioned sd card? Thanks...

Diskusage from the market will tell use what's using up space.
Unless you have some large files, it's possible that you don't really have a 16gb card (fake).

I found I have a LOT of scheduled back ups that are around 650mb each..... Do I need all of these, or is
It safe to delete all back ups prior to the most recent? Thanks again.....

I don't know why you would need anything more than the latest one our two copies...

Yes, it works. I have two micro SDXC 64gb cards (class 6 and 10) that both work well on the phone.
How much did you guys pay for those?

Class 6 I got late last year for $79 and Class 10 I got from Amazon when it was on sale for $50
Im clueless about the classes but the higher the class the faster or better quality the card is?

Yes, the higher the class the faster the data read and write speed. but regardless, class 6 is plenty fast enough for anything you do on the phone. But since the price is so close to each other, I would suggest just getting the class 10. You can always use it on your digital camera (newer ones that support it) if you don't use it on the phone. fyi, make sure you format the drive in FAT32 (let the phone recognize the card first before putting it into your computer).
class 10

Nice thanks alot for the info

update
Received my Sandisk 64gb Micro SDXC card today and it was a complete FAIL. Tried to format it in the note, it did not work. Kept saying sd card is blank or is in unreadable format. I tried to format it in FAT32 via CMD on my PC, did not work. I tried to format with other programs did not work. Spent the last 4 hours trying to get this to work to come to the conclusion that I must've received one that was part of the bad batch that was released to the public. I will be returning this one and exchange it. *sigh I'll likley have to wait until next week to try out the new one since its a holiday weekend.
My note wouldn't read it out of the box. I put it on my S2 and formatted it under settings. Then my note started reading it. So you can prob try a different Android phone and format it from the phone... I thought I had one from a bad batch too at first but that fixed it. now it works like a charm.

Ill try that but i doubt it will work. My pc doesnt even recognize it. It shows it as a drive but it cant do anything with it. Format it, copy files to it...etc etc

nope. i never use ebay. I don't trust it. I got it from amazon. I will say this though...amazon was just the middle man when I first bought it. I returned it already and will be getting a full refund while my new card will arrive tomorrow, but it was purchased from amazon directly this time.
Update. I got the new card and it wouldn't format on the note, but it formatted easily on my pc and works like a charm now. Only issue IM having is that it won't transfer.files above 8Mb/s. Not exactly the 30mb/s that it's rated it. Could be a number of other things causing this, but I'll update once I figure out why it's so slow.

Seller is amazon. returning it and waiting for another one. *sigh. what format do you have your card in?
I just popped it in my s2 first then under settings i hit format right off the phone.. I originally put it in my note but it wouldn't read it. Wouldnt even load.. After i did the format on my s2 it worked. I uploaded movies, music and used about 70%of it and it runs smooth with no lags... Its a speed 10 btw not the six one idk if that makes a difference or not

i am getting 32GB class 10 for my note. is there anyway that i can use my external microSD as my internal microSD so that i have 32GB space instead of 11GB?
There is a thread in which the thread head taught us about making internal card apps games an all move to Sd and vice-versa.
And what you are asking is next to impossible.i have never seen anythg like this in xda.

There is away to repartition your internal storage to include external, it has performance decrements, but if you want to try it its available. Fraid you'll have to search though.

I'm sorry but why would you ever need that? )

There is a faster way that is more easily reversible. Just search "directory bind" on xda.
The app will allow you to bind pairs of directories. Meaning I can move the folder with the huge game data files onto the external SD, and while mounted and bonded to the old directory for apps to read.

Just grabbed one of these for my wife for christmas. She was wanting an eReader figured I could put cm7 on it and then she could have a choice of reader apps and have some tablet functionality as well.
Digging through stuff it seems alot of information is old so I don't really know where to begin. Do I need an sd card? Does it matter which size? Would greatly appreciate if someone could direct me in the right direction.

If you are wanting CM7, just follow eyeballer's guide, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12797652
It is still applicable. And get CM7.2 stable from the Cyanogenmod site. And yes, you generally need an SD. A lot of apps expect one. Size just depends on how much stuff you want to store on it. Generally 4GB or larger is enough. With the price of SD's nowadays, I recommend getting as large as you can afford. You can never have too much SD space. And if you have any thoughts of maybe putting a ROM on it in the future, it needs to be a SanDisk Class 4.
Let me know how you like it with CM on it, Cor-master. I've been thinking about getting one for my parents and rooting it since they're so cheap now and I get 20% off with my employee discount.
Yeah the nook color is what got me interested in tablets in the first place. I thought the ipad was a dumb idea when it came out, then my friend showed off his rooted cm7 powered nook to me and I was in love lol

Only if you choose too. If you install it to internal memory the SD is only used for media storage. If you choose to install the ROM to SD, then the internal ROM is not touched and is ignored on boot.
Those instructions I posted earlier is for installing to internal memory, overwriting the stock ROM.
Cool that sounds good to me. I'm no noob to this stuff, my Nexus 7 is my 4th android device and I never leave them stock, but you know how it is, different on every single device.

When I had my GNex I could always look at what was taking up space from storage in settings. Now that I have my One I cannot do this. I've got 2gigs available overall and "other" is using 10gigs. But I don't know how I can see what is taking up so much space. I am rooted, btw. Any suggestions? I've got 18gigs of music so far and I'm not done so I'd really like to free up this storage.
Im a huge fan of Grid Size File Manager. It gives you a visual representation of whats eating your storage. Most likely downloaded roms or videos.

GNex didn't have a physical SD card slot. I've moved my backups to my pc and now I've got an extra 4gb but there's still 6gb being used and I haven't a clue as to what's using it. I even deleted all of my music to make sure there weren't any misplaced files in my music folder. This is driving me crazy.
A ton of space is used by the system.

I really didn't want to come to that conclusion but I probably should have just stopped there from the beginning. Of course they're system files, duh. *slaps forehead*
Yup. Out of the 32gb when i took this baby out of the box I had just under 27. Still not bad, as I rely on the cloud for everything but roms, booby pics, and the like
