Saw this on the homepage today
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909801
This got me curious as I like the idea of being able to manually tune my display color and audio output, but it say's its for i9000's.
Doing a little research led me over to supercurio's site (project-voodoo.org) in which i saw he's got a sound kernel driver as well. Posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=806195 but that looks to be for the i9000 and his page said Epic and Fascinate builds aren't built but planned. Anyone know of anyone working on a port for the Epic?
Sorry if this is old/duplicate, but i didn't see any previous threads on Galaxy Tuner or the Voodoo sound kernel development (just voodoo color).
Oops, this probably needs moved to General
I just tried Galaxy Tuner on my Epic and it worked, I wish the color adjustment was finer though.
Edit: the sound eq works too
Most likely the sound driver will be impossible without kernel source, much in the same way as the voodoo color mod. As far as manual color adjustment, CM6 has it built it (render effect mode) but I don't know about doing something similar on DK28. I'll look into the cm source and see if there is a way to integrate this into, say, a rom.

I just tried on DK28 Nebula ROM v1.06, the color mod works.
Anyone have suggest a good color profile? I don't think the phone is too blue though
Thanked.
I'm excited about supercurio's voodoo sound enhancements. I really hope they find their way into some epic4g kernels!
Great find! Finally, I can listen to music without getting disgusted with the sound quality.

Does that mean you successfully tried voodoo on the Epic?

Gizmodo post a cool Gingerbread screen-off animation video leak
http://gizmodo.com/5669828/watch-a-leaked-video-of-android-30-gingerbread-in-action
Any developer keen to port this to Froyo or Eclair custom rom?
Mr.Admin, let me know if I post at the wrong section. Pls help to move it
(Q&A or General?)
Samantha
That is awesome! D:
This is relevant to my interests, sub'd!
yeah, this is really cool
i think its not hard to make something like this for the Galaxy !
It's rly awsome
Good, but if gingerbread is not out how we can port it?
To write it from nothing there a lot of work to do.. Too much.
U and all of us have only to wait.
Moved to Q&A as not development
Doesn't froyo come with option to play sound when shutting down/powering up screen? Could this sound maybe be modified to play animation instead of sound? This is just a suggestion to devs around. I don't have the skill set to pull this off. I reccon there could be something usefull inside the froyo source code around the powering up sound part.

Not sure if these can be ported but here they are if anyone wants to give it a shot
Probably need touchwiz framework to get it going.... wouldn't be impossible, but most likely not simple either
added touchwiz framework
Not sure if that's whats needed to get codecs working on NS i really have no clue really but music play itself IMO is really good, much better than stock
So does this work?

no at the moment
Since it has only been one day, I am sure this will get ported. I also hope that Samsung Media Hub is ported over while waiting for Netflix!
At the very least it would be great to get the codecs. SGS plays everything under the sun.

Bumping this request because compared to my Galaxy S, the stock camera, music player, and video player on Gingerbread are pathetic. Anybody hear of anything on the Galaxy S apps working on the Nexus S? (seriously considering going back to my SGS)
Bump, all stock media players are just awful.
I'm looking into the same thing.. In addition to the Player I'd like to port the Clock apk and the dual-clock widget.
The SGS Clock apk is very handy with world clock/timer/stop watch in addition to the Alarm clock it self.
If anyone can do so?
Here I attach the apks
i also like the sgs calculator better. you could minimize the numbers and see your history of what you've calculated.

Its long been known that porting any of the stock Samsung apps is completely impossible without the entire TouchWiz framework. If you are desperate for these apps you should work on having a port of TouchWiz for the Nexus S however, and I hate to have to be frank like this, I wouldn't hold your breath. The general consensus seems to be that there aren't devs interested in porting TouchWiz.
Tested and works on the fascinate.
I personally like the miui app better but you might enjoy this. Looks like the image gallery lol

Edit: seems to take up alot of resources..see what you think. I get lag when using it..you might not.
SCH-I500 - Froyo DL30/Transparent Myst 4
Love the app. But i've tried many times before, this phone just does not handle it good. It ruins music with skipping/studdering. Which is surprising because its fine on the inc. But you cant even play music and load a webpage. Its just a cool looking thing but will definitely require a more finalized build to make it even acceptable
agreed.

Hey Everybody
Due to the unacceptable in-call quality of CM7 and MIUI on my O2X, I am forced to use Stock or Modaco. (Yes I have tried all RIL+BB combos)
Unfortunately the Stock/Modaco style looks like someone drank a lot of curacao and vomited inside my phone.
My theme request is as follows. Can someone please find/replace all the curacao vomit color with perhaps some gingerbread green and make a stock or modaco compatible theme? Bonus would be if menu items where all white a'la CM7.
I have no idea what the extend of this request really is, but if you come through on this - I will be your facebook friend anytime, perhaps even myspace.
Thanks
/Mikkel
Just in case no one is available to help out. You can always try to do it yourself.

Just a heads up. Since Nightly #177 in call quality has vastly improved. it used to be a dealbreaker for me too
First of all I want to declare that this is not my work, this is "D3HuM4NiZ3D" work and I am just sharing it here
Original Thread Link
So,this is MegaBassBeats audio sound enchancer for Incredible S but limited to Gingerbread only!!!
Earlier i used this on my galaxy 3 and sound was too good so today I though I should try it on Incredible S as well and I think it's working.
The bass and overall sound is much clear, switch on beats audio and feel the clarity.
ALL CREDIT GOES TO D3HuM4NiZ3D.
IF YOU LIKE HIS MOD PLEASE THANK HIM
NOTE: This will work on GINGERBREAD only.
Obviously I am not responsible if your phone will explode or you turn it into a MP3 player
FEATURES:
[*] Much better than beats audio and SRS!![*]clear sound![*]ultra clear bass![*]bass is clear even if its enchanced in DSP![*] Louderrr!!!!
INSTALLATION:
1. copy the .zip to sd card
2. boot in to the recovery
3. Install .zip from sd card and choose this zip.
OK guys so please report if this is working for you or not....
I am using NIK Tritnity XL and RC MIX kernel....
Download: Mega Beats
Alternate Download link: Dropbox
I didn't felt any change..i am on Niks trinity XL 5.0..
Tried out of curiosity on MIUI.
Felt no change :victory:

Well the reason of this mixed response is that we already have beats Audio....but acc to me this MOD gives clear sound and effective bass then beats audio, that's why I flashed it and if you don't feel it probably you are using stock headphones.
If you are not using stock headphones, then flash this mod and disable the extra bass from Tweaks in settings.
And then tell me if you can feel a rich bass and clear sound..
after i flashed this, will it appear in app drawer menu?
i mean how to know if it is working or not?
i have ARHD rom

No, this will not appear in the app drawer.
Well to know if it is working...
Listen to a song then flashed it....and then listen to the same song if u feel the diff in sound quality and bass then it is working.
Acc to me you will not feel any diff with stock headphones...only try if you are using good headphones.
Sry, I don't get any difference either... Using beats with some GB-ROMs...
