it has an extra battery slot for charging two batteries at once
built in headphone jack so you can plug it into speakers and use it as a media dock as well
there is a slighly cheaper version available which doesnt have the headphone jack built in
you can find this version here

Moved to HD2 Accessories

Should be a good bargain. I suppose that there arent any better docking stations around, particularly fot the HD2 model. I too have ordered the same thing (audio hack included) so eagerly awaiting its arrival
Sent from my HD2

I bought the same.
A word of warning, I tried to charge the bigger extended battery on it and it just lasted 5 minutes before it went with a funny smell and noise. I will send it back as there is still guaranty on it but I’m not sure if these chargers are just not prepared to take the bigger batteries.

Thank you for the useful info. With the cradle I also ordered an extended battery and wanted to charge it in the cradle. Now I will be more caucious.
My first question is: have you used an extended battery whitch comes with a flip stand cover, or an extended battery with a regular cover? (I ordered the one with a flip stand cover)
The second question is: have you charged the battery from within the phone (when the phone was attached to the cradle), or have you placed the battery into the cradle battery slot - without the phone attached?
This is very importand for me as I don't want to push my luck and use the warranty / send it back.
BTW: I recieved a call today from the seller... he apologised for lengthly shipping (took for over one month) and packed in a pen for capacitive screens as a bonus YAY
Sent from my HD2

I picked up one of these on ebay a while back - it was a version without the headphone jack and extra battery charger slot, but otherwise exactly the same from the looks of it. Was around AUD $20 with shipping from memory.
Worked fine with the usb cable, however the power cable when plugged into the same powerboard as my laptop caused it to build static up until it would not boot and I had to run the manual discharge cycle - could have been an issue with the converter for my local power source that came included though.

Sounds like a troubbeling power source. Maybe you have some audio sources plugged into the same slot? It can generate interference. Try moving the dock to another wall socket.

i wanna ask you about this cradle. i've bought it almost 6 months ago. it works good in time it causes my phone's usb slot to getting corrupt, i mean slot getting expanded so my phone's original usb cable can't fit into it so i can't recharge.
i don't know how i can fix the problem. is there anybody familiar with this kind of problem?

my crable it works good

If this is the same one I've seen on ebay (the one *with* the audio plug) - description says not good for T-Mobile USA version of the phone. Can anyone confirm this?

so it charges the phone and a extra battery at the same time?

spec me a car charger!

Hi,
Sorry if this has been posted before, but i couldnt find anything! I'm basically looking for a car charger to charge my HD2 in the car. I've looked on ebay but they all seem rather cheap? are these ok to use?
Anything with a micro USB plug would do, as long as it has 1000mA output. Motorola has one that will work well with HD2.
Alternatively, you could buy a DC to USB adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter and then use a micro USB cable to connect your phone. Again, make sure the adapter is rated 1000mA. My advice, stay away from cheap ebay stuff when purchasing power supplies. Not worth risking your phone's battery or worst just to save a few dollars imho.
Example of a result of using cheap chargers in the car ...

Could i just buy one of these and use the usb to micro usb cable that came with the hd2?

i just ordered one of these 2 amp ones from amazon uk.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ULTIMATEADDONS-AMP-Car-Charger-Smartphone/dp/B002WT0XP4
A bit dramatic aren't we...
If you want one which should be reliable:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/htc-hd2-cc-c200-micro-usb-car-charger-p22081.htm
I would stay away from the cheap ones too. Not because of risks to phone or car (in practice both should be fine), just because they probably wont last as long.
Belkin are a big brand and should be fine (although I have had a belkin mains adapter fail with my touch pro). Yes, It would work with your htc micro usb cable (thats why they put a usb socket on!).
I like that idea, perfect for the car, or when traveling in rentals or other peoples cars.

That is exactly the one I am using! Loving the tiny size, too
Get one now!
Free Man, the BalckBerry charger should work well, too.
Correct me if I am wrong but when you charge the phone via the computer's USB port, as far as i know, the max output you can take is 500mAh. So I guess it is fine even with 500mAh car chargers..
Well, yes it is OK to charge with 500mA, but then how much time have you got? I have tested a few chargers rated 500 mA and got the message that it needs more juice while shooting a video in the car... I guess if time is not an issue and the phone just sits there idle, a 500mA charger will be OK. However, if you use it for navigation it will struggle to keep topping up your battery.
motorola p513
it is ok this car charger? i found that it is an 5V @ 850 mA. If it is not enough i will cancel the order.
Go with a 1A (1000Ma) Output. That is what the original charger is. I used a Blackberry charger at .5A and it would take 24H to charge a dead battery while the phone is turned on.
For those of us going from a Nokia small pin to HD2 with Nokia car chargers already, this looks good. Jumper
there is a kensington car charger that is nice and small too, with a tapered end which is more likely to fit compared to the square end belkin version (see amazon reviews), but the charge output is only 700mA not a 1000mA. See here

USB car charger. Any hints ?

I'm looking for USB car charger for HD2 (US T-Mobile HD2) ... the one which has USB port in it where you put another USB cable. Here is what I'm looking for.

I'm NOT looking for something like this
2.
Here is the problem ... I have one car charger like 1. And it says 5V 1000mA, but it DOES NOT charge my HD2 ! LED light on charger is green, LED light on HD2 is red, HD2 "Settings->Power" says "Charging", but it does not ! I use USB cable which came with HD2 from T-Mobile. I'm able to charge from USB WALL charger with this cable fine. I also tried different USB cable - it works with WALL charger and does not work with car charger
My question is ... USB car charger for HD2 ... what specs it has to have ?
What am I doing wrong here ?
Just a guess but there is a setting which stops the phone charging when connected to a pc via usb. Maybe it thinks its connected to a pc?
Goto settings --> about phone --> battery
and make sure "when phone is on, do not charge the battery when connected to a pc" is unchecked.
If that doesnt help my second guess would be that the usb charger is dead.
Just search for "car usb adapter" on ebay, loads come up.
According to spoon charge (download from these forums) my hd2 uses a max of 900mA when charging, so 1000mA should be fine.
Hope that helps.
yeh I got one and it's fine.
I got a spare too so if u ever need one ...
Do use a USB car charger with higher current capacity (say 2000mah). avoid cheap (chines) chargers, boasting high current capabilities.
I ordered the HTC C200 because messing with the battery just because I could save a few bucks is not worth it IMHO. I cost me like 15 Euros and if anything happens to my battery I can blame HTC themselves.
btw the C200 is like the one in the first picture!

If anyone is still wondering why their aftermarket car charger doesn't charge their HD2 properly, the two centre points on the USB socket need to be soldered together.
I found the information on post 16 of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=670702&page=2

Now that I've been using this charger on my HD2 for a couple of days now, I thought I'd give an update - not all USB leads will charge your phone when it's running under load.
I tried a Nokia lead and while it charged the HD2 with bluetooth running, as soon as I started the GPS (tomtom) as well, the battery started to discharge.
Then I tried a Sony Ericsson mini USB lead (supplied with my X1) with a mini-USB to micro-USB converter lead from ebay, and my original HD2 lead. These charged the battery with bluetooth and GPS running together.
The Sony Ericsson X1 mini-USB lead is much thicker than the HD2 and Nokia leads.

DELL MINI5 尾插转接成 MicroUSB母口
Seems to be ¥58 RMB + ¥12/25 shipping, which is approx
$10.99 - 13.00 each.
Taobao is similar to amazon as a web store, it doesnt ship outside china though.
It's a 30 pin dock connector on one end and a mini usb port on the other end, so you can use any old mini usb cable on it. (like most phones) It's MINI usb and not MICRO as used on very new phones.
Seems to use the same connector head as the otg cable one, might be the same manufacturer of the heads.
Dell should have made official ones themselves, the stock cable is redicilious as it's essentially propriatary. This is most true for being on the road when you need to charge, you need both the cable and a charger with an actual port. Buying a charger with a 30 pin dock connector built in means that it's tied to the s5/7. With this you can use and old microUSB charger.
Quick facts:
The Streak does NOT use the PDMI connector standard. It merely uses the same head and SOME of the same pinouts. There are no devices out that use standardized PDMI. Dell internally refers to it as the '30 pin dock connector'
This should work on the s5 and s7 as they use the same dock connector, wont work on the s10 as it uses a different 40 pin connector.
Nice idea but to my mind six months too late, Streak leads are now widely available and cheap to buy. I don't see their being enough of a market for this new adaptor for it to sell.
There's enough of a market in china to make these, as that's where these are being sold. The streak is only half a year old or so in china.
It IS late everywhere else though, they could have made them much earlier and destined for export. There's plenty of other random accessories like cases that have done this, and normal dock cables.
Regardless i'd like one myself, my streak will still be usable for quite a while. It's not gonna magically stop working or anything any time soon.

Can you post a pic of yours, or possibly what a pin out might be.
I would buy at least one of these if there were some way to get the seller to ship to the US...
What we really need is a 30-pin (pdmi?) connector to hdmi.
I'm gonna (hopefully) use my ds5 for another year before I change to one that has proper hdmi out.
Sidenote, I just learn about QuickPic yesterday ... and it makes my ds5 all that much more usable!
it's sad that the connector is specialized for DS5. Hope my original usb cable won't break..
I actually just picked up a DS5 charge/sync cable on ebay from a US seller cheap ($6.95/ free ship) for anyone in the states that's interested. Descent quality, nowhere near factory quality, but what I expected for the money. Great as a backup charger.

Car charger 2A no modification required

I've been on a search for months to get a Nexus 10 running permanently in my car without needing to take it back home to charge. I've bought tons of chargers and even invested in a $20 pogo cable but none of them could get a positive amps. I run Google Maps, Spotify and Bluetooth tethering and it would drain -300mA to -400mA, after about 5 days I'd have recharge it at home.
Tonight I stumbled on an accessories shop in Shum Shui Po, Hong Kong that sold a 2A car charger with a funny attachment. Turns out the USB extender has the data pins shorted. Now my N10 is charging at +700 to +900mA. Pogo cable is pulling all the amps as it can!
Here's a pic. Hope this helps people in their search. The USB dongle thingy on the bottom right has the data pins shorted!

I think this is the magic bullet. I don't think you need the charger itself as long as it says it does 2.1A: http://www.amazon.com/Charging-Charger-Adapter-Apple-iPad2/dp/B0042LF23I
Thanks for the information, so you can confirm that the "technology" (I quote this because I think this is just a resistor or a wire between data pin) is the same for Apple devices and the Nexus 10 ?
I found item SKU: 123582 in dealextreme and since I have an order to do on dx, I think I will order a few of them also (that must work also with my galaxy S3 I think ...)
Edit: more reading of the comment and apparently it doesn't work with samsung device, another device seem to work with samsung but it's sold out and when sold out on dx, it never appear again ... keep searching ...
I just ordered this two usb ports 3.1A (2.1A+1A) car charger It works great and only costs $3.99.
But even if you have a 2.1A charger, your cable has to support hi-amp charging as well.
Well, I search for a dual usb car charger which has the hi-amp modification for android (data pin shorten if I read correctly the forum) but not the modification for apple. Because I don't know why manufacturer propose 1 product with one port for android and one for apple, this is stupid because most of users don't have apple AND android devices. I think manufacturers should propose 1 product with 2 ports for android and another product with 2 ports for apple. (I can understand that proposing only one device doing the two interface is most interesting from a financial point of view but ...).
For example I have an android and an android tablet, two port usb charger are fine because for example I can have a 1A port for my phone and a 2A port for my tablet and charge the two at the same time. But if I have 1 port "apple" and 1 "android", I can charge the two the same time but 1 will take only 500 mA on the apple port:crying:
If you know such a product, I will continue searching and if I find I will post it ...
Edit: think I found it : http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-Output-Charger-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00AAHRZI8/ but only on amazon.com, I'm from belgium and I can only order on amazon.co.uk or amazon.fr, keep searching ...
With the battery kept constantly full at all times it willend up killing the cells over time and in a couple years you will have greatly diminished charge capacity. Better to take it in over night every 5 days IMO.
Update: Found a link that ships worldwide, it looks like exactly the same product

I discharge/charge my iPads like this and the battery goes to crap after just 1-2 years. IMO all the recent batteries in tablets and cellphones don't last more than 24 months before the charge just goes to crap. My Nexus 7 is already barely able to hold a charge for just 4-5 hours of use.
That being said, I have an original 3G iPad that's going really strong. Surprising for a 1st gen product.

Spare Battery brought from ebay.

An update for a battery I brought 3 week ago for $8. This seller from ebay is batteries specialist. I can see it is LG COPY but its contain Li-ion. Its can do quick charge and wireless charging. The temperature is colder than original. Just not sure its can hold the charge. Probably need 2 to 3 charge cycle then can tell. Its came with about 56% Charge when power up.The label said 无品牌 meaning brandless. I usually uses my car quick charge 2.0 charger or Aukey 100000 mAh Power bank to charge when outdoor. Hope its will not explode xddddddd.

Would you mind posting a picture of the top of the battery, where the connectors are? On the original I got a white dot, next to the edge, which is not present on the spare one. Also, I got mine from Amazon UK, it's stated as original, but curiously the date of production is exactly the same as yours (2015.05.27<L>). I think it could be the same label coming from the same vendor, since it's literally a perfect copy of the one in yours, which is a tiny bit different from the one on my OEM battery. I paid mine £15 (23$ more or less), which would be a shame for a fake. The good thing is that it holds the charge good so far (3rd cycle), it doesn't get warmer than the original one, and the nfc is working flawlessly. I was actually sure it was an original one until I popped in your topic.

Can you compare the battery life of the original and the one you bought with that seller?
1st option. try watching movie, or video recording for hours. and measure how it will long for both of the batteries. (just to know if they are both 3000mah or which one will last longer). The original battery will be the controlled standard and asummed 3000mah.
2nd option, just play one movie, (same movie same volume level and same brightness level) for both. start from same percentage level of the battery. After, compare battery level and the how much was lost.
3rd option, record UHD video , pointing towards a wall, the same wall for both, and record and dont interrupt for 20 mins maybe? start from same percentage level of the battery. After, compare battery level and how much was lost.
If you only have time, friend
