[Q] Rebtel Android App for international calling - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the Android to Android calling feature of this app. I just moved to the caribbean recently and wanted to talk to my friends in the states. I got my GF to upgrade her phone to a Samsung Fascinate so I'm hoping this app will basically make it almost free for her to call me. BTW, its free incoming calls here in the Caribbean so as long as she can call my number I won't be charged. And it sucks because the island I'm in at the moment has very expensive and slow internet so I can't leave my internet on all the time so no VOIP.
here's the app: http://www.rebtel.com/en/Services/android/

Nettalk app... Posible voip app for g tablet?

So I installed nettalk voip app on my tablet it installs but it has the same issues with voice calling with fring. I mean this app would be great for us G tablet users cause we lack phone cababilities. What needs to be fixed so this app would work flawlessly? I would love to use this app cause its like the magicjack of android... Well until magicjack releases there android app which they stated it would be released in september of this year
I tried sipdroid and imsdroid. Neither work.
Also stremfurious doesn't work. It keeps reporting broken pipe and freezing.
It's like the network is going up and down, or the connection status is not being reported properly.
Voip Gtablet
I have Skype and IAXagent working, but unable to get audio to my bluetooth headset.
very possible @op. install sipdroid and let it make you a new pbxes automagically and have gv installed. i treated my viewsonic like a project and first testing requirement was "could i make and receive calls?" well i got swype plus mic and call and recieve working...but the software was still horrible. i couldnt beleive that a device like a giant epic(sgstabby) could massacre my tegra2tabby by way of speed and sheer quickness...working on phone call and receive now for my galaxy tab and i couldnt be happier....amazing what software can do...this tabby will be awesome if it gets enough dev but as it stands its going to be overlooked just because of the crap software...i used all custom roms and none had the performance of STOCK s g tabby....i hate samsung and i looked forward to this device for so long...rather disappointing...glad i purchased at staples with no restock fee
Humm, my sipdroid works just dandy... using sipgate, sipsorcery, Google voice..
Sidebar, in sipdroid you must hit menu>speaker to hear anything.. I've also found within sipdroid in landscape mode the keyboard "enter" button actually starts the call

+1 Skype works fine for me. I have a Skype number and the $2.99 unlimited US/Can calls. I can receive and make calls. I use my phone headset and it works perfectly.
Ok, so I got a Galaxy Tablet (Sprint) from BestBuy, and plan to use it only with WiFi.
I was searching around and discovered Sipdriod as a possible app to make calls over WiFi with my G Tab, but when I try to place a call I get the message "Cannot make or take a call using the Galaxy Tab."
Anyone know why this is?
I read above that Sipdroid won't work, but I am wondering why. I mean is this a limitation Sprint has put on their G Tabs? Is it some limitation Samsung built in?
It just doesn't make sense to me that I can have an Android app that should be able to make a call over WiFi, but the G Tab is restricted.

[Q] Google Voice Wifi Free Call US & Canada

Just wondering has anyone experienced free wifi calling via Google Voice apps during Sep 2011 thru 1st week of Jan 2012? No other VOIP apps installed.
I was very happy to found that it didn't use any of my prepaid minutes and I was calling US and Canada via wifi for free. After the 1st week of Jan 2012, not sure when, I noticed my minutes starts dropping and Gvoice can make call even without wifi; it is then I realized the free call has ended. Previously, it will give me an error if I try call without wifi connection.
If someone else experienced the same thing, I don't need to look into it. Case closed.
I am interested in finding out if some setting on the ROM causes the free calls or google just happened to give us a free ride for that period of time.
For those looking for a solution:, I am currently trying out GooveIP.

[Q] Samsung galaxy camera voice call in singapore

Hi,
im new to this forum and im kind of desperate as i lost my phone tomorrow, so in need of a phone asap.
i stumbled upon this samsung galaxy camera yesterday but the salesperson told me it does not have voice call function unless you use skype and stuff. but skype is not being used frequently in singapore.
so is there any apps which i can use to make normal voice calls in singapore?
i read through the forum, there are apps like GrooveIP but when i check on it, it only supports in US or Canada.
thus need some advice on any apps that i can use for normal voice calls.
thank you
as far as I know Skype does exactly what you want if you get a paid subscription.
the free version only allows calls to Skype clients, but if you pay you can also call regular phone numbers(mobile and home).
try mobilevoip.its free in singapore

CalLiberate - a new way to communicate

Can communication be free? I mean, really free?
Since the history of humans two things have been free, Thinking and Talking. Someone began thinking about talking and started charging others for it. Now Talking is Free Again!
So you remember it has been a while since you haven’t called your grandparents and you know they would love to hear you. Or maybe you need to talk to your girlfriend who is doing some shopping and tell her you’re out of shampoo. Or maybe make an order from your favourite pizza delivery. In either case, you need to make that phone call. And Internet calling, as awesome and free as it is, is not going to help you.The pizza guys won’t give you a Skype address, your girlfriend might have the Viber app but the local shop is probably not having free WiFi and your grandparents...well, your they still loves their simple feature phone and you’re not going to change this. Whenever you want to talk with anyone, you don’t use Skype or Viber. You just call on their mobile or landline number. We have to face it, the old fashioned calls (which are known as PSTN calls) are here to stay. You use it everyday and you’re still having to pay for it.
But why can’t an awesome technology like Internet calling be enough to make you reach anyone anywhere and not pay a cent? Well, there are at least 3 big reasons for it:
First, obviously, not everyone uses Skype or Viber. The adoption of smartphone apps that allow Internet calling has grown hugely but is still limited. Skype has a number of daily active users of around 5 million, while there are billions of users that talk in PSTN every day. Looks like there the pain of changing the standard way is too big.
Calling on Skype and Viber is not spontaneous. You as a caller have to think if the person you want to call is online or not, will be on wifi or mobile network, if on mobile network then on 2G, 3G or 4G, and then whether he/she has enough data to talk with you. And most of the times you will have to schedule a time to talk with people on Skype & Viber. It is not as easy as you would’ve called them directly on their mobile number i.e make a PSTN call.
Not everyone has access to an Internet connection which is also powerful enough to allow a good Internet call quality. Your WiFi is usually at home and some people may not have a 3G/4G data plan or the speed may not allow for a decent voice call (like, for example 2G).
So if you want to reach most of your contacts, your only hope is to to still use the old fashioned phone call which requires you to call a mobile or landline number, but your mobile carrier won’t give away the chance to take your money so easily. Seems like no solution. Well, not really! Because now, there is CalLiberate.
CalLiberate allows people to make unlimited & free, local & international calls to their friends and family on CalLiberate. Users can call any person straight from their contacts list or just dial mobile numbers with country code You can basically call anyone you would otherwise call with your regular phone dialer. Only for free.
But how can this be possible? It’s simple. CalLiberate pays the call cost for you.
CalLiberate is an Android app which released it’s 0.9.4 BETA version on 17th March 2015. CalLiberate’s mission is to provide unlimited and free calling worldwide. Unlike other applications, CalLiberate does not charge their users for calling directly to mobile numbers.
The current list of countries that CalLiberate supports where you can directly call mobile numbers (PSTN calls) are India, United States, Canada, Germany UK & Romania. More countries will be added to this list. While CalLiberate to CalLiberate calls can happen worldwide.

Sweet! How long is 'soon'? Could you give a rough idea of how long it will be?
Maybe within 2 Weeks, or much earlier. We are also looking to support France and Spain as well.

Is there any call tracker app that can provide realtime received/missed call notifica

Hey everyone
I need an app that can record received/missed calls in realtime and sync them between the phone it's installed on and either my phone or Internet browser.
I have a small business and I need to make sure the person who's answering the phone does not miss calls and when he does I need to make sure he calls back.
If there anything like that out there?
Spyhuman.com
I used to have it on my kids phone, only works on android phones as far as i know and it cost $10/month per phone
Sent from my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3 using XDA Labs
