I started a new thread because I'm not sure if the app is not 100% compatible with a rooted nook.
When browsing, xScope will enter full screen mode, hiding the tab and address bars also the control panel on the bottom. I have full screen disabled in the options, so does anyone know what's going on?
There's an option regarding the notification bar. I can hide everything but the bottom bar.
The only issue I'm currently having is that a lot of the menus are white text on white backgrounds. If you press and hold you can see the menu entries which is workable for now - I've contacted the developer about the issue.
OK, I see what's going on now...
When I enter a text field, the keyboard comes up. When I'm done, the bars dissapear.
I've changed the settings so that the menu button brings them back, but is this normal behavior? The bars should come back on their own.
In xscope full screen, I have trouble pressing the buttons on the bottom edge of the screen, does anyone have that problem?

Same issue with the buttons in the lower corners of the screen. I have issues with other apps also where the buttons are in corners, bottom or not. Just seems app specific.

What I did was move the bottom bar to the top where it is easier to press the buttons and then I increased the screen density to 210. That makes the buttons larger and easier to press.

Yes. Really sucks. I love xScope and have had to switch to Dolphin Mini because of this problem. I love how xScope does text redraws quickly and without fuss. Not many other browsers do that.

I did that but find that it really makes it much more difficult to use the browser when you have to constantly reach for the top. I love how Dolphin Mini allows me to keep both hands at the bottom to do everything I need.
I want to have an experience where my hands aren't having to jump all over the place just to move along quickly through my daily reading.

I had also moved my bar to the top and its much easier to use for me...
Otherwise, I like the browser, but still haven't figured out how to easily close tabs.
I honestly find Dolphin a bit easier to use..

For xscope, just tap a tab to close it.

Don't know if anyone has tried this on there Nook but I got it up and running. Progam is call Button Savior and can be found in the market. Really liking this program versus soft keys. I have it set to trigger on the left versus the right. Right side was semi hidden versus the app launch button.

I have no experience with button savior. Softkeys can do this as well though. You can drag the little launcher button as well as the pop up softkey panel anywhere you like, and it will remember that position.

Thats exactly why i picked this over softkeys, going to the circle in some games ended with it just following my finger and no reaction on the game. Not knocking it, still have it, but this is another good one if you like lack of choice.
(Hit thanks instead of quote -_-)
Thanks for this post. I have button savior on my HD2, but completely forgot about using it here. Great reminder. I will hit the thanks button next time I'm on the computer.

I love having this set up on the left versus the right. You know us lefties can't do anything right!
I have softkeys set up to use the "n" button so i don't have the little on screen button anymore. Very convenient

has anyone had trouble with the search button in the Android Market app when in portrait mode?
it seems like the search function will never appear with only 1 press. i have to press it several times to get the search function to come up.
it only seems to be an issue with the portrait mode. when i'm in landscape mode, i have no problems.
is it just me?

I think I have the same issue. I think it is the touch screen sensitivity in that area. People have mentioned various "dead" or "numb" areas like the right or left edge when using crossword puzzle. I don't often use any buttons that are that close to the edge, so it may just be the unit. Some have had success with recalibrating the touch screen. You may search for touchscreen sensitivity.
Cheers,

thanks! this has improved the response. i'm at about 75% success rate. much better than the ~25% rate before.
You can also tap the nook menu button at the bottom (looks like a circle with 3 horizontal lines in it) and then a tab for search comes up (on the left bottom). I have been using this because I've been having the same problem getting the little magnifying glass search icon to register my tap.
NookColor Autonootered
I have experienced the exact same issue. So far I haven't noticed which part of the search button would be the most sensitive though.
If you run a search on the forum, you will see that this problem has come up many times. The Nook is designed so that touch sensitivity for tapping the edges is not very responsive.
You can check the nookdevs wiki for information on how to recalibrate the screen.
I've found that tapping slightly to the left of the button yields better results, but its still hit or miss.
Just hit the menu button and select search. Problem solved. Raising you LCD density also helps if you must touch the search button.

Download the newer version of market. It works much better (but still not perfect).

It isn't a screen issue
Open the market and then tap the my apps section. The search icon in the top corner is the same as the one on the market home screen. There is no issue selecting search then.
The problem is that the 'app carousel' is actually bigger then what it looks on screen

There is a screen issue. The digitizer is not accurate on the screen edges. Use a drawing program to prove it to yourself. That said, I have not tried recalibrating yet.
I tried calibrating and didn't notice any major difference. Maybe a little bit better.

I bought a Nook Color yesterday and immediately AutoNooterd it. BTW, I love saying Autonooter
Everything is working fine...except for one small annoyance. The extreme right side of the screen seems like it out of calibration or dead. For example, when I use Dolphin Browser HD and swipe to the left to bring out the toolbar on the right I have difficultly selecting the extensions. Or when I'm in the market and I want to search, I have a hard time clicking the magnifying glass icon on the top right hand side of the screen. Sometimes I can hit them, sometimes I can't, and sometimes I have to aim "off" of them to click them.
Has anyone else seen an issue like this? I haven't tried it using Nook Home. Is there a way to calibrate the screen?
Thanks.
I saw once an app/mod that hides the soft buttons and you can get access to them by swiping your finger from the bottom of the screen upwards, much like the quick controls on Android browser, it seems very cool, any way to get it working on our XZ?? :fingers-crossed:

- If you, like me, get annoyed by the soft-buttons at the bottom of the page staying there far too much, there is a way to get rid of them. Download and install Button Saviour, then grab the FullScreenToggle apk from this thread, and Bob’s your slightly-better-endowed-with-screen-real-estate uncle.

Exactly, fullscreen toggle + buttonsavior. I even concealed status bar and get instead some battery widget and phone signal widget etc. Absolutely full screen lol. I use RomAur 1.3.2.
I use the LMT with the fullscreen apk, so that you can get the PIE controls! When I swipe up from the bottom, I get all the controls I need, and it's very intuitive! More screen real estate! :good:
Great share, thanks guys!
Just using the fullscreen app and it works great, playing ScummVM is so much better now.
Kind regards, Stefan.
hi guys. I just installed cm 10.1 on my nook HD Plus. I like it so far but I have a few unanswered questions I hope some kind soul will help me with. first off how do you take a screenshot?
Is there a way to lock rotation?
next, in stock browser I seem to be having a problem that happens repeatedly where instead of scrolling with one finger I end up zooming in and out. this is very annoying. how can I disable the one finger zooming feature?
if anyone could recommend a good keyboard I can download that has a numbers row on top like Samsung's but it also must keep the microphone key as I use that frequently I would appreciate it.
I'm wondering also if there is a way to move the back, home and recent apps buttons over to one side or the other of the tablet screen

You need to set up screenshots in settings. Go to system and power menu.
And I recommend the Hackers Keyboard. It has a 5 row option with the numbers and microphone showing. I also has cursor keys so you can move the cursor around to correct mistakes.

Hackers Keyboard is very nice. It is taking some time to get use to it but i I think we are going to get along. Thanks for that and the screenshot.
Well after extensive searches and reading i have found the answer to all my qestions except the one finger scrolling. Tablet ui flash is great for the back, home and recents plus status bar. Rotation toggle is hidden deep in settings..
