Is there Any GPS software available for WP7??
i've read somewhere that Deutsche Telekom ( aka T-Mobile) was preloading navigon on all of their WP7 handsets, just to attract more customers. However, I have never heard anything about it again. I've searched and looked, but couldn't find any info about satnavs, only that navigon and telmaps that was only available in Singapore I thought.
I tried searching for Garmin for WP7 all I found was that Garmin is going to make a GArmin WP7 phone
just like theirs for Android
Hope someone will extract Garmin out of it

It looks like the iPhone maps from 1.4 would work, I'm unable to get access to the correct folder on the phone though, so no way of actually testing this.
If there is a way to write to \Applications\Data\6FC9....\Data\IsolatedStorage I'd love to hear about it. I can open the directory and see all files using TouchXplorer, but I don't seem to be able to actually read the files or put new ones in there.

I see it isn't aloud, look for Navigon 1.7.0 navigation for iPhone, extract with 7zip, use the phone als external drive with the trick (Zune must not work) copy maps one by one in the Pictures map, start zune Look met TouchXplorer in My Documents\Zune\Content\0400\00 and rename the *.z file with original name, then cut\paste in Application\Data\6F9CB......\Data\IsolatedStore... your done!

Worked like a charm, thank you.
if you extracted with 7z, how did you put it on your phone 7? and how did you install it, or what do you run to launch or, to at least install the application?
Weird, tried it again now and it does work. Still do not have read access to the rest of the files in that directory though.
But heck, I'm not complaining. Now have all the maps I need in Navigon. Just hope they update the software to iPhone level and will let me pay for it in the future.
@tim_snoek: I'm guessing he (as me) had the application pre-installed from the carrier, but the application is also available as an XAP in certain places. Install this, then take the iPhone maps, extract the ones you want from the .ipa file, get these onto your WP7 device whichever way you feel comfortable and finally use TouchXplorer to move them into the correct directory (as we posted earlier).

only there al not so many options to customize the UI of navigon... but perhaps thats solved in a update.

RSS Hub 2.1.1.1065 with today screen plugin.
Whilst browsing 4Shared I found a 2.1.1.1065 RSS Hub package which I have re-assembled into a CAB and enabled the today screen plugin.
I've not been able to find another release of this build anywhere so I'm posting it for you all.

I have uploaded a CAB to enable storage of Channels on the Storage Card. Please run the RSS Hub cab then the Storage Card CAB.
If you have run RSS Hub before installing the Storage Card CAB, perform a Soft Reset after install.
Let me know any problems.

I dont know to tell the truth, the Schaps one I found is version 2.1.0.1056.
Mine, I just grabbed the package off 4Shared. The only other place I could find that build was on an foreign language PPC dev site.

If you view the feed and wait for the image to download then, yes you can view them offline later. Just tested.

Their is no today plugin in this cab, it installed the RSS Hub and that was it NO TODAY PLUGIN, your most likely missing a file

I've installed this about 10 times on different Kaiser ROM's every time the today plugin appears.
The file in the CAB is RSSHubToday.dll and is installed to the today screen via registry keys in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\RSS Hub.

Thanks Dave, Just to be specific. The issue is not viewing a feed and letting the image download and then being able to view it offline.
The issue is that images only download when you view the relevant entry, and not when you refresh your feeds. So if I refresh feeds over wifi but then view the entries when not connected the images break.
I doubt that this version fixes the issue, I will email Ilium about it.

same here but I think I fixed it
I had to go inside system\today and uncheck the rss hub from the old install then go back and check it and now it's showing up
Anyone else having issues with RSS hub becoming unresponsive (for 20 to 30 Sec.) at times after being used for several minutes?
It really annoying.

I've never had this problem (that I can re-call), I still use this CAB, but only for traffic updates.
I think there are newer build out now.

HTC GPS Tool V1.1.1.0 is about 276kb and this new version is only 26.1kb, and after installing on AT&T FUZE (Touch PRO) I don't see the link any where. Is there any problem with this file? did this work for any one?

EDIT:: The cab didnt add an icon correctly to control panel (atleast for me).
This cab should add an icon to the start menu/programs folder.
EDIT 2:: Ive noticed this version (and others) dont have the clear memory option, shame :s
What does this version do better or differently from 1.1.1.0? You mentioned VGA support, but I am able to run the latter on my VGA screen without noticeable problems; what would I get from installing the new version?

From what ive seen i still prefer 1.1.1.0 because it has a "clear memory" function which will remove ALL ephiremis data and start from scratch (ruling out any QuickGPS data which is invalid), the functiosn the newer versions offer dont seem to be any different, perhaps split into seperate screens but thats about it.

BTW won't deleting \Windows\xtra.bin clear the QuickGPS data? Or do you mean the epheremis data stored in the GPS chipset's firmware?

You can move it from "Programs"or copy a shortcut to Windows/StartUp, and it will run at every Soft Reset....

They told me that QuickGPS suppose to help your GPS signal, but I don't see the different. Now you guys said this one is better than QuickGPS... what can it do?
QuickGPS and HTC GPS Tool serve different purposes.
QuickGPS connects to a network server to download up-to-date epheremis data based on the MCC-MNC of the network you are currently connected to. This data gets saved as \Windows\xtra.bin and when AGPS is active, it gets factored into the intial fix, to speed up TTFF (Time To First Fix)
HTC GPS Tool allows you to view raw NMEA data stream as provided by GPS Intermediate Driver, and also through various menus to view information on current location, DOP (Dilution Of Position, or somewhat like 'accuracy'), and a sky-view of the satellites the GPS unit is seeing. This is useful if your GPS program does not report such information, which most do not.

I got your tool for the Diamond, but it told me that it could not be opened. Is this application strictly for the Touch Pro? or can be used (but needs modification) for the diamond?

Weird, after one month perfect usage of HTC Jade, I, first time utulised QuickGps funtion and downloaded sattelite data.
Unfortunatelly, the result, GPS fix no more able...

OK, This new one works good on my HTC Touch Pro.
The old tool did crash after a few minutes (also odd behaviour with jumping satelites in satelite view).
This satelite view is good, only display is flashing, while refreshing the view.
Seems stable for longer periods.
More possibilities for other devices/gps chipsets.

when creating the partition to locate the drive or shared network folder from Windows and you say believes that there unencrypted and without password, to finish gave me an error, and we hope to finish assembling the virtual partition, and we will have our new storage unit.
I hope they help, only needed to resolve the impact that exists with the USB TOOLS reboots in the WMO, is disconnected and you have to reconnect manually.

The vista side should be running it's a network sharing.
I made a new partition on my HD and share it.
I installed iGO8 on WM side and everything is so SLOW and sometimes it freezes and shows an error about low memory
it's all USELESS, we need SD working in WM side.

hey everytime i try to open a media file on the network, it gives me a warning message, "the network is not present or started a network browser"

Infact if i put new ROM with GPS in SnapVue but is not possible read the SD in Vista how can use a navigation program? Where I put the map?

Yes you need to have Windows Vista running.
This program, like the cryptainer ppc creates a virtual sd card recognized by windows mobile and you can put the maps of the tomtom.
If you only need to access to the sd card then you only needs the program network browser and running windows vista.

The new version is really just an interim release that enables image caching for the movie posters and allows automatic updates to Cinemo. A message box will pop up to notify you when the new version is being installed.

When I attempted to install this to my memory card the installation would fail; however, the installation to device memory was successful. Can this only be installed to device memory?
Edit: Maybe for a future update you could query the "total $ gross" for each film on the list? Might be a cool addition.
Works well. One suggestion is to have a list of theaters that are within some range of your zip code. Many people go to neighboring zips to go to their preferred theaters.
I will be keeping an eye on this as it would be more convenient than loading up Fandango every time.

I would imagine that you do not have a data connection open or available. Can you hit the internet with your phone? Try disconnecting it from the computer if the USB cable is connected.

I was able to hit the internet and use other data connection apps fine. I did have it connected to the PC. Disconnected, no change. Cinemo wouldn't work, other apps would.
Did a soft reset, everything works fine. I guess there must have been something that didn't take or load completely until after the soft reset.
Great app, thanks for the work!

+1 for the gps, works like a charm! I use flixter on my ipod touch, and this works just as well for locating movies and since both are very similiar in UI, its really nice to have the familiarity from one device to the other.
Just letting everyone know I have movie synopsis working on my test build. Look for a new update to Cinemo in the next 24-48 hours. It SHOULD automatically update itself when you run it. I will post letting you know when it should be available.

awesome app, been following it since the first thread. the only thing missing for me would be saving favorite theaters other than that this is perfect. it's helped me out a couple times, thanks!
looks like this is going to be a great app - I am in Canada and i cant seem to enter a Canadian postcode as it caters for zip codes only! I also tried the GPS and it found no cinemas in my area and im downtown Toronto!
Potential feature add: would be great if you could add a feature to be able to enter dvd titles and get it to check the ratings on imdb and metacritic!

I agree with some of the others. There needs to be an option for more movie theatres both when viewing the actual movie times and in the theatres tab. Also, itd be nice to check times for other days in advance. Like being able to view the times for Thursday when it is still Monday. Other than that I think it looks really good. Until theres more theatres I am stuck using Live search
every time i change the zipcode the app shuts down with an error. also, sometimes when i open the app it shuts down with an error. tried it on my sprint diamond and touch pro with same results. when it does open without errors it works great though. is there an explanation why there are errors so often? i'd say i've received an error about 40% of the time.
thanks for making this, it's a great idea and very useful. it's much easier and faster than having to open a mobile browser or some other app. keep up the development!

Nice App but I have been having issues. I am using Energy ROM 3.0. I am not sure if it is because of the 3.7 .Net that he is use or some other reason but I am recieveing a message "failed: \storage card\program files\Cinemo\Cinemo.exe"
I am not sure why I have started to get this. I have more then enough room on my SD card. I have used it in the past and liked the app. Would love to have it on my cell but I am not going to change roms.
So, basically can anyone confirm issues on install? does it have to do with the 3.7 .Net that is being used?

pretty cool app.
i think it would be nice if you could enter your user account information for fandango.com or movietickets.com. that way if you see the movie you want to go see, you can just tap a "buy now" button, and you are good to go. maybe it could pull the confirmation number as well or something.

I wrote yet another simple file manager for the Android platform, called Ghost Commander.
Why I did it? Because it only features two panels, like famous (Norton|Midnight|Total) Commander and you can easy copy/move files between the panels by a single key press (instead of that boring cut/copy/paste operations). It also can create and delete folders, edit small text files.
For the advanced users, this file manager has also the "root:" (su - super
user) mode to work with system files on a rooted phone, change file permissions
attributes (chmod) and even execute your own shell commands. Plus, the "mount:"
mode to browse and remount the file system partitions.
Aside the file system on the sdcard, the file manager can also upload or
download files from remote locations such as FTP servers, Windows (aka Samba)
network shares (plug-in required), create or extract ZIP archives.

Your app is very good! Nice and simple, but it doesnt show anything under /cache or /data /or /system/sd/...it could really use that function, other than that its pretty good, no FC's, not really laggy, Nice work! Make it truly show ALL contents and itll be great! Thanks!

I don't know why it does not show the content in some system folders. It just got nothing when it asks the list of the files for that directories. May be it's some java security limitations. I tried other file managers, they don't show that as well. I'll try to as a question on an xda forum.
Did you expirience any troubles with the track ball? The application should switch panels on the left movement, did that bring any trouble?

The only file manager i know that shows the contents of those folders is SUFBS. It has a file browser, terminal, shared network viewer...its pretty good...i guess i hadnt thought about that being basically the only one that DOES show those directories...guess i got spoiled....lol

I tried to access to the "/cache" folder with a terminal emulator (ConnectBot) and got "Permission denied". But as root the folder reads fine.
So, it seems need to figure out how to run a java app as root (if possible).

Its on the market, Its not called SUFBS anymore, it was changed to "SuperUser File Manager & Terminal" or something, if you search market for "superuser" it will come up, its about $2 or $3 USD, i forget, but well worth it for the functionality. Maybe you might contact the developer and see if they would help you with figuring out how to show root directories, since they already know...

I've decided not to overload the screen with additional components to be able to select an item by a single tap.
So, now it behaves this way:
When you click on the left part of the row the item processed, when you click on the right part, the row is selected.
Refresh after an operation was also fixed.
This is almost perfect. Isn't possible make option in settings to enable and disable file detail like (mb, time).

that's interesting... is it available to take a look?
as of now its very similar to the standard image gallery (just the browser section has doublevision) and thats all im gona do for the browsing i just need to implement drag and drop to copy files which is probably the hard part. the cool thing is im gona have it drop onto a new activity with the drop explorer enlarged and some extra buttons like cancel and rename that it can be droped onto. since your not gona drop it in the area you picked it up from. ive never worked with drag and drop or content resolvers yet so this is gona be hard, but before this app i never worked with databases or list adapters either so...

There is no a ftp java library around so write a ftp client from the scratch may take some time.
BTW, the Ghost commander has internal module architecture, so, if somebody willing to implement a ftp client according the interfaces I provide, it will be very easy to plug in to the project.

Drag'n drop is probably cool, but I rather use the keyboard to do the stuff.
