Ok. I'm new to the tilt and this is the first program i have downloaded onto the phone. I downloaded to my computer, unzipped, copied and pasted to my phone and all I have is the programing (just the O's and arrows). What am I doing wrong??? Thanks for taking the time for a beginner!
can you give details, what you did, what u are using, what u want to accomplish
you prolly copied the contents of a .cab file
cab files are to be copied to the PPC directly and distalled from there
or you might have a corrupt SD (highly unlikely)
I'm all for helping but....
Please collect your thoughts, read the forum. Learn abotu the different ways to install software to your device.

Hint: check the stickies (posts at the top of the forums.
I just made this COD2 version where you just install it and you have the whole version, just go to the cab file inside the zip just go inside the folder CallOfDuty2_1.o and theirs gonna be a file called COD2SOinstaller.cab and put it in your phone after that just install it and their you go.

Sorry i don't know if this is the right place to ask for help but i really need it
You are posting in the wrong forum section. Thread has been reported.
The files you download usually don't need to be unpacked. Just rename them to update.zip and apply the updates through the recovery mode. Some recovery roms, such as Cyanogens or Amon_RAs, has an option of picking a specific .zip file, not called update.zip. Also most ROM builders provide MD5 sums of their ROMs so you can check yourself whether your download is corrupt or not. I suggest you trying to verifying that.
1. Your G1 is a Dream not a sapphire.
2. The development forums are for posting development threads. Any questions go into the Q&A forum.
3. Are you trying to flash a Hero based ROM? (I'm guessing you don't have the correct SPL.)
What types of files? are they roms?
Hey guys,
I have a few files that need to be thrown into the system folder, and I find myself doing the same thing every time after I flash an updated ROM, using Root Explorer to manually copy and paste the files from my SD.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3168310/tether.zip
The files in the following zip need to go into:
/system/etc/ppp/chatscripts/rogers
/system/etc/ppp/chatscripts/rogers-chat
/system/bin/chat
/system/xbin/rfcomm
Is there a way I can create a flashable zip that does this for me automatically? Thanks in advance.
You can create flashable zip yourself its easy. Search xda for how to make flashable zip there are many tutorials which will do your work.
I normally wouldn't do this. I would have done like the other guy and told you to search, but I'm bored and waiting for a download to finish, so I spent 60 seconds making your files flashable. Yes, it only took me 60 seconds. It is literally that easy. Have a look around. There are lots of really good guides around XDA showing you how to make flashable zips.

Could you possibly provide a link to one of these guides as I have searched but I am obviously not being specific enough , and would like to learn and make a couple of my own.
Thank you .
SOLVED I searched with Google rather than just here and I got my answer.
You can grab any flashble zip and only have to change mount-point same as our CM10/CM9 Rom in updater-script. and will work on our TP then whatever file you want to install place it in that zip as where you want to install.
Thank you!

I am looking for a working port for CM9 for our die-hard Ace. I ooked for several days and I found only a few threads that even remotely gave me some hope. Is there any such thing at all? Have I overlooked something? I know there is a version for CM10 that is working great.
I stumbled upon this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667854
I flashed the file and it worked but the resolution was too high so the apps were overlapped by the dock.
I would ask a good modder/themer if he could resize the launcher to the resolution needed for our Ace. Btw, I am usin Maclaw's AOSP ICS final.
Thanks in advance.Cheers!
Solved!
After some more research I stumbled upon a post that put an end to my misery!
I got TW5 working on Maclaw's final AOSP version with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1724553
You have to follow the steps and everything will be just fine.
A few little hiccups there are though, namely in step 1 of maxx35000's post you have to go to his other post and download the file called "seclauncher2mdpiV1.10_Signed.apk". Although it is stated in the thread I made the mistake of using "seclauncher2_Signed.apk" and the launcher had not the desired resolution for our Ace. I jut note this so people do not get confused as silly me did. Also, the files "AccuweatherDaemon_Signed.apk", "AccuweatherWidget_Main_Signed.apk", "AccuweatherWidget_Signed.apk" and aforementioned "seclauncher2mdpiV1.10_Signed.apk" go into the /system/app folder. Just change the permissions and reboot, no need to install anything.
Another thing is that people might have doubts about to where put the files. All files got the /system folder. So, if the post says that you should put a certain file in "lib", it is meant that you put the file in /system/lib. For example, upon copying the extracted files of "system.zip" (there should be 3 folders in the system folder of the zip, namely "lib", "framework" and "etc" and some files in those folders as well) onto your SD card, the files in the "framework" folder have to be copied to /system/framework.
If you follow the steps in the OP,everything will work out just fine.
I did not develop/compile any of this, I just posted a link with some more detailed instructions (for noobs like me). All the credit goes to maxx3500. He deserves the thanks, not me!
Cheers!
