hello, is there a program to run the wing thru the computer

hello, all, first post im glad to be part of xda,
i got a problem, my screen cracked cant see anything pretty much useless, it still receives calls and i can make calls by using the qwerty, is there a programs like motorola phone tools that lets you acces your phone with my comp, i use it for internet sharing and dang i internet less and broke to fix and or replace, please help.

Connect usb and make sure active sync is running...just install on ur desktop and will auto-run on ur mobile

Yeah, I had seen something similiar, but had never looked into it... I'm definitely trying it when I get home tonite.

mymobiler is very nice - i used it a lot before flashing several times a day....

Just installed mymobiler under Vista and it is a newer version than i run once...
... free positioning window
.. or acting like a secound monitor...
when going with mosucourser out of right/left monitorside - the courser appears on ppc screen and you can use it there...
Now i need a gadet for sidebar out of it...

newest version as well, but im running windows XP and i do not have the mouse cursor showing up on my phone... do u think that has to do with it being XP or what?
never mind, right click program in the task menu brought up a memnu i didn't know was there answer found...

Dial Phone from PC

Hi all,
I dial a lot of numbers from databases, and was wondering if there is an application that would dial the phone from the pc when they are connected ?
I have searched everywhere i know of and on google, perhaps im not putting in the the right words but cannot find anything yet.

Thats a really good piece of kit, its brilliant all my text messages will be automatically copied onto my device and that I can use my PC to access the menus ect.
But its not quiet what i was looking for. I would like to be able to click on a number in excel on my pc and have my mobile dial it?

A better piece of software is called Pocket Controller Pro, Version 6 supports the Diamond better than older versions - but it all still works ok. A Freeware one you can use is also called MyMobiler and is pretty good and easy to use.

I also want an application where you can dial directly from your computer.
Pimphony (Alcatel) has a nice feature where you copy the phone number (CTRL+C) and press CTRL+right mouse button to paste it directly into a small dial window.

Then you just press the call button and, voila, you make a call.
Unfortunately this is only for PBX but it would be nice to have something similar for WM that works over cable or bluetooth.

I use it and it is great, but it only replicates de PDA dialer on PC screen, it does not allow to make a call directly from inside an excel contact's database...as far as I know

I was about to say the same thing...
I going to use the raspberry true connect one above as its superior I love the text message in out look thing.
Still no solution to dialing the phone from the PC...

Anyone have any ideas?

Skyfire Beta is sweet

Just downloaded the Skyfire Beta, version 0.610.4721, on my tilt and it rocks. WAY faster than opera or ie or anything else. Just wanted to throw that out there. Youtube works great and flash works as well. You need to sign up for the beta 2 asap if you want super fast internet. well done skyfire. Can't wait to see it on the Touch HD when it comes out, any idea when they'll announce a 3g version that works in the US?

How long ago did you sign up for beta 2?

If you use certain codes like phelps8 you can get your beta code instantly.

i have symbian phone.......i dont think this cab is suitable....
and except of the softwre itself i need to make my password-and the link to do this in the email doesnt work too...

I downloaded it last night and had it working. But this morning no love... It says I do not have a connection & that I may be in flight mode. Anyone else have this issue?

I love Skyfire, I have no need for PIE or Opera, they are all garbage. Although sometimes I do find that Skyfire is picky with the signal. I will get an error if I am not in an area with good cell reception. Even in a 3g area, if i have only 1-2 bars, it will not connect. But if I am full on edge/3g it will connect.
But it really is an amazing browser, the screen size on the Touch HD will suit it nicely.

Start|Settings|Connections|Connections|Advanced|Se lect Networks|MEdia Net|Edit|Proxy Settings| ->uncheck the "This network uses a proxy server .....
if that doesnt work reinstall the cab

Yes, I went to te skyfire forums & learned this, this morning. I hope the guy who in bold face wrote 'We know already' was not slamming your post, as it was addressing my question.

I did and it loaded but now its asking for my email address and its password..... Not.
I went to SF's web site and do not want to give my phone number to register. Is there a work around?

You can't run it unless you register on their website for beta; use Phelps08 as beta key (capital P, small p doesn't work), that way you get your skyfire account setup.
I've played around with skyfire for a bit, it's sooo much better than opera 9.5, it's just in a different league. Only gripe is I can't set it up to work with Manilla 2d as the default browser. Anybody managed to do this?

Like I said before I'm uncomfortable giving info out on the net to anyone. There is no reason Skyfire needs this other than collecting marketing information. I mean come on.... Its a beta program.
Note:
Skyfire's privacy policy reveals some interesting things. Most notably that they claim to have access to all the sites that you visit using their browser. With that description, Skyfire might be closer to Deepfish, functioning more like a web preprocessor/cache, than a full browser.

Tried it. . the earlier "release" or rip of it worked very similarly, so I'm impressed with that, but this just feels a tad nicer, because (ironically) it's from Microsoft.

i just downloaded and installed this, but cannot get it to actually connect.
it just gets stuck saying "Can't Connect to Facebook. Please check you're connected to the internet"
everything else that i'm doing requiring any type of connection is working with pretty much full 3G speeds.
any ideas?

I find this one has issues like the other "early releases" doesn't seem to want to download messages from my inbox.. Just sits there fetching =/

so i dl the "official" facebook and it wont even connect...just like microsoft to fox somethin up...

Anyone having trouble with lockup/crash after signing in, go to the device root directory and delete "Facebook.vol". Should work after that.

I think Skybook is a good alternative. I have no problems with it.

I use this app as additional for my Facebook.. it has functions what official FB doesn't have.. and it just 6kb size.. i use both apps for my FB account.. have a try.. you're gonna like it

This is really poor. Finger-scrolling is so slow, viewing pictures is a nightmare. There's no gallery view and I can't find taggged photos anywhere. And it doesn't give you most of your notifications.
What is the point in having a dedicated app that is slower, more difficult to use and less functional than http://m.facebook.com ?

I agree. . I was initially excited, but I find myself just using the website. . it's much faster.
But google up SkyBook. . someone in here gave me the tip, but I'm too lazy to find them and say thanks - so thanks!!
SkyBook is still kinda slow, but the cool thing is I can finally upload a bunch of pics at once, in any album I want (or make a new one), and caption the pics. Also, it syncs your contacts if you want that.

[Q] Read texts without connecting to bluetooth

Hi all,
I currently have a galaxy note 2 and with the imminent release of the 640 XL i may be tempted back to windows phone but i need to know if i can do something on windows phone that i can do on the Note w.
I do not have bluetooth available in my car. So i currently use driving mode and S Voice to read out text and reply to them hands free. This is using the speaker on my phone of course.
This is an essential feature for me as i commute to work.
Dors anyone with a lumia 640 or other windows 8.1 phone currently do similar?
I have read that cortana does do this but appears to be have to be connected to bluetooth first.

Go to settings -> speech -> read incomming text messages
Always on
That's it
Also you can select speech voice be a female or male

Yes, you can. But you need to enable Cortana for that. After she reads your message will ask what to do next.

Cortana is already a launcher for speech with some more functionalities
It's a basic speech command not a voice assist so you can use it without cortana enabled
The only important thing is supporting your language for speech to text and text to speech
For example Persian and Arabic are not supported so you can't use it in these languages

Hi,
the 640XL is 8.1 I believe.
So, basically, you can enable cortana and it will then read out text and allow you to reply to them by speech.
Maybe it was the way i was searching for the answer to this (maybe using "read texts whilst driving" or something) that brought back every answer as needing to connect using bluetooth.
