[q] help please! can't download from market due to recovery error!

Hi guys! I've just bought an used Galaxy S...the guy said me that the galaxys had a modded rom (sconcau) but now that i have it here I don't see anything modded. He has just said me that he has done a restoration.
In device info i see:
Firmware: 2.2
Baseband: I9000xxjpp
Kernel: [email protected]#1
Build: FROYO.RSJP5
The phone works weel but i can't download anything from the market.
I tried to go in recovery mode and in the first menu appears this text in red:
"can't mount \dev\block\stl11"
From what i read this is the cause of the market issues..
so...what can I do?? i want a rooted galaxy, with darky's rom, but I don't know what this phone has at the time...how can I check if the phone is rooted? i can't download a root app from the market and try with that...
The recovery is the e3!
i previously had a nexus one but with the galaxy the procedures seems a lot different..

Could be a bad flash.. He might have re-partitioned the SGS but missed some firmware files..
Just download and flash darky's rom.. you don't need to be rooted if your gonna flash... just make sure you can get to Download Mode so you can flash via Odin.

[Q] some help pls!!!! - recovery mode issue!

Hello people,
I am kind of a new comer to all of this so pls bear with me......I have a Galaxy s I9000, stock Froyo 2.2.1 : JPY, BUILD NO. XFJS4.
I have root it with "1clickshot" and got from the market ROM MANAGER, AND INSTALL cwm, BUT STILL, IN RECOVERY MODE i HAVE THE STOCK ONE........."no ïnstall from zip" option...., only run from update.zip.....
ps: I also tried turning it off and use the 3 buttons combo, but .......still stock!
Can someone pls help or direct me to some sort of fix.........?

ok......but how to find out witch versions are good for my rom version.......?......i saw that there are a lot of ver......
ps: in my recovery menu it's states it is e3...........is it right.........shoulnt i have the e2 version?

Open phone like you want to call someone then type this code
*#1234# and then you will se PDA version.after that use cf root and root it.you can see product code via kids also.

Just boot in recovery n let it show 3e. Just choose to install update.zip n ur cwm recovery will show up..

thx......allready tried it.......but it says : "signature verification failed - instalation aborded"................so no cwm ........is there a fix to this ?.........cause i don't want to flash a new kernel just yet

hes on complete stock here are the specs
model no - GT-I9000
Firmware version - 2.3.3

Build number - GINGERBREAD.DDJV6
now i wanna install darkyrom v10.2
so guys a little help in steps

1. Download Darkyrom(version).zip
2.Get into recovery mode(cwm)(Volume up+home+power)
2. Wipe Data/factory reset
3. wipe cache partition
4. Go to advanced->> wipe dalvik
5. Install zip from sd --->> darkyrom.zip
FINISH!!!
Edit: there are sites that says that you have to install the rom with odin, google a bit more, you don't want a bricked galaxy s

Best answer can be found on the Darky's website. Go to http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php and look for the rom you want to install and they have instructions on how to do it.
I would suggest trying Darky JVU it is the latest and in my opinion the best Darkyrom

Download the latest stock firmware from the following link:

Now that you have CWM, you can download and install the Darky firmware of your choice.

the installation instructions are given in the link along with the download link..
this will give you darky rom 10.2 on your friend's phone which will be rooted along with CWM recovery.. after this you can install any rom which you want using the recovery and the instructions given in the op of the rom you chose.

Bro look at the kernel name -.-

Just install semaphore kernel with odin by downloadin kernel and put in pda slot in odin. Put the phone into download mode by using vol down home and power. Plug phone in and hit start. Make sure you have the drivers installed(samsung kies) and it recognizes the phone. When its done flashing in about 10 seconds it will reboot. Now power down the phone and hold vol up home and power. That will bring you into cwm recovery. Make sure you have darky rom on sd card. Do factory reset and go to install zip from sd card and install darkyrom zip. It will then install and reboot. It will take a while so just wait. If it boot loops put it into recovery again and reflash the zip file again. Please hit thanks and happy flashing!

[Q] My Galaxy mini/pop Bricked

Hi, I am new to this rooting thing...
While I was flashing my Galaxy S5570 with s5570DDKC1 (stock firmware downloaded from sammobile.com) using odin multi downloader, after successfully loading files in downloading mode it didn't restarted automatically.
Now my phone only works in dowbload mode not in recovery mode.
I had installed clockwork recovery mod but not starting in recovery mod..
Please help me to UNBRICK my phone.

had you checked reboot option in odin
you were flashing ddkc1 so I think you are Indian
as ddkc1 is froyo fw you should not flash it over gingerbread instead flash ddkq7 as it is official gingerbread fw for galaxy mini you can also find it in sammonlbile

Flash the stock froyo before flashing GB ....
It wil work...
Search on google bukab1 for mini ull get the dwn link...

I want to install only FROYO 2.2.1. Which version of s5570 i should download from samfirmware..
Is there any other site from where I can find that firmware?

Yes, I have once upgreaded it to GB 2.3.6
But I want to root my software but i was not able to root it. so i want to install froyo 2.2.1

if rooting is the problem then you should not downgrade
instead you can use stoneboytony's update.zip and can flash it in stock recovery in this way you can have root or
use superoneclick (PC) the second most easiest way to root android

Help getting cwm

Hey everyone, i currently own a rooted galaxy s i9000 that runs 3e recovery and a really buggy custom Israeli rom.
I would like to flash another rom but 3e needs rom verification or something like that so i can't really work through it.
I understand that i should use ODIN to flash CF-Root, but the rom has changed the build number somehow so i don't know which version to use.
Some info:
Android Number:2.3.3
Build NumberilotxRom JVH GINGERBREAD V1.1.2
If you could post a link to the right CF-Root and ODIN files i should use and some basic instructions i would be very grateful.

Download this "update.zip". Place it in your SD card. Power off and boot into recovery with the 3 button combination (press power, volume up and home button till you see the boot logo) and select "apply sdcard: update.zip". DO NOT DELETE THIS FROM SD. You should have CWM installed now. Let me know if you have any problem.

flash GingeBread 2.3.6(Maybe xxjvu or JW4) and flash cf-root.

to use custom rom GB 2.3.6 is a good start, if you want to flash cm10.1 i suggest after you flash CM7(GB) -> cm9 (ICS) ->CM10 (JB) to avoid lost imei.
