Batterystat.bin pushed manually/uploaded? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Since i recalibrated my Samsung galaxy s Battery it seems like the battery is dropping even faster then it used to.
Just wondering if it would be possible to Push this batterystats.bin file manually into adb push ( File ) /data/system and the restart the phone..
If yes, could someone please upload there batterystat.bin, only people with a healthy battery life please, my phone at the moment can barely survive 8 hours with minimal use....
Thnx guys
Hope it works / is possible

Battery stat is only a logfile. Search for a process that is draining your battery or reinstall your rom again.

I think somethig is keeping ur phone from sleeping. Check ur battery history and see if there is a big entry in "particial wake lock"

Recalb did not help
In terms of firmwares/kernels tried several same issue.
And in regards to statistics it always seems to be my display which is at like 80% ....
SO i thought that if the batterystat log is replaced with another whereby the recalb is better it'll function longer. From what it looks like altho the battery physcially has battery whenever the reader reaches 0 it turns off, and charging only seems to take 30min to get it back to full????
Can't be normal can it?

What exactly was your experience with the xxjpm.modem? What is the difference to another one?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

Got the file, going to give it a go and leave feedback here.
If anyone else wants to try i have attached it

People still confuse batterystats for something else, this only keeps the HISTORY of your battery usage and will not dictate the %, if you want to calibrate your battery find a way to empty it and charge the phone will its OFF, then remove the charger and power ON the phone.

Well that might be the case, but strangely enough today i have had the phone on for 13 hours and still got 22 percent battery left, which before was not the case. So seems to have made a difference for me.
If anyone else wants to try and get back with there results that's fine.
Kind regards
Styla

@@@ Help !!!! G1 Charging issue ..... @@@

dont know if you guys experienced this or not, it seems like i cant get my phone to be fully charged after the 1.5 firmware update, it takes like 10 hours to get it fully charged. So i thought it was my phone, but after i get the replacement from t-mobile, its the same thing, so i thought its the battery, but after i replaced the battery which i got from HTC, it turns out to be the same....what do u guys think what happening to my phone ?
for example, if i charge my phone for 2 or 3 hours, and it says its 60% charged...then i reboot my phone, the battery bar becomes full, and i check the battery info, its 100% or 99%.....so you guys think it's the software issue ? maybe my phone is already fullly charged, but it just cant recognize it ? but this cant happen to 2 different phones with different batteries right ?
This happens to my phone even i flash it to the cyan 4.0.4
CyanogenMod-4.0.4
HardSPL
2.22.19.261
Please Help !!!!
weird, have u tried to UN-root?
ya...tried...was back to normal once when it was at 1.0 firmware, but then after i root or updated to 1.5 firmware, it happens again...i dont even know why this is happening
Anything running in the background sucking up battery power? Bluetooth enabled? Music/Video player "stopped"?
There is a file you can delete to make the phone forget its battery charge settings and start over. I searched but with the old Cy threads gone I can't find it. Try searching the forum a few different ways. Maybe it is also in a different rom thread. If I come across the file name I will post it here.
if i delete the file, would it indicate how much battery is left ? or how much battery has been charged ?
i think the directions on what file that needs be deleted are in the experimental thread, i remember reading about it as well. basically, what you are doing is deleting the old battery readings and the files that tell the phone how much juice the battery has left, and when you reboot after deleting them, it causes the phone to create new ones.

Try deleting batterystats.bin in /data/system if you upgraded without flashing. This will recalibrate your battery...

they don't want it to turn into another "I hate google" thread. i am pretty much sure that is the reason they locked it.
so if i delete batterystats.bin , the battery indicator would back to normal ?not just going up by only 1% for every 10 minutes ?

what command ? im not a tech savvy guy...so i will make sure all things are ok before doing anything to the phone.
i put the command up in the first page of this hread ,and it was still there when i looked a minute ago.
so after i deleted the file, and i go to the recover console and type the commands and thats it right ?
i tried....didnt work....
i rebooted to recovery mode, then select console..input the commands....reboot the phone...problem still not solved....hmmm
If I remember correctly wasn't the procedure for resetting the battery to completely drain the battery till the phone shuts off on it's own, then charge the battery while the power is off till charging light turns green, then when you boot your phone use the terminal or adb to remove batterystats.bin

Yes those are the proper instructions. Don't do this very often though, its not good for Li-ion batteries
What an interesting problem. I have never run across this problem before.

again .. galaxy note battery

This is my first post here. Am kinda new to the forum
Well, i know this issue have been said over and over. But i didn't get anything out of other threads
I have my new gnote on stock ICS for 6 weeks now. It's battery drain rate was about 1 % every 5 minutes on browsing. Then one day i installed game "angry gran 2" from 1mobile market, because it said on playstore not available for ur country. And since that moment the battery went crazy. Drain 1 % every 2 or 3 minutes. I uninstalled it a day later and the problem is still there. This was about 10 days ago
I checked running apps nothing is different than normal
I dunt use face book app
I uninstalled samsung push service
GPS and location services are always off
The mobile goes into deep sleep very well no problem with that acc to CPU spy. The processor which usually works is 200 mhz then sometomes 1200 mhz
All settings since the day i bought it are set to save energy "lowest brightness, sync is off .... Etc."
Now the battery does not work notmally unless every charge i remove the battery for few minutes and put it back' i did this today before i turn off my phone battery was 92 % remived battery put it back and it's 87% ! :S
Yester day about twice after going to sleep i find batter increased 1%
Can you help me please to spot where the problem is ?
I have better battery stats but i dunt understand it
And one more question please, does having large number of apps even if not running in the background cause battery drain ?
Thanks all will greatly appreciate any help
+1 on that. My note's battery runs really fast and I'm not even using it for hardcore gaming. The battery gets really hot at times too.

Hi! Once I had a similar battery issue, but in my case it was after flashing a custom rom. Battery started draining much faster than usual. And sometimes battery percentage jumped up too. Have you tried to remove/insert battery, then fully charge your phone and when fully charged run "Battery Calibration" app from Play Store? Have a feeling it's not the solution for your battery issue, maybe a long shot, but still maybe worth a try if you haven't done that already?

There's no such thing as battery calibration apps, it's a con, you just put them through a few cycles and they're fully charged, modifying the battery stats does nothing for the use of the physical battery.

That is correct. The name of the app might be misleading. It does not do anything to the battery's physical condition at all.
The problem I had was that my "battery" suddenly started to drain very fast according to the battery icon in status bar. It dropped about 1%/min during screen off, and even faster with screen on. I charged my phone to 100% about 6 or 7 times. But as soon as I unplugged the cable I had that very quick drain. I guess the battery itself had much more capacity left than shown, it is in good condition... but that didn't help me because my note turned off when the battery icon showed it was low on % and I had to start charging again. Then I ran this app, which only thing it does is to simply delete batterystats.bin file if I understand it correctly. I don't know much about these stuff, but after that the usage time of my phone is back to normal again

I just had a look at Play Store and all the apps I saw that does remove batterystats seem to need root. Probably it is a system file you can't touch without root access then Also, the battery issue you have might be caused by something else.

Well i wish it can be solved this way ... Coz other option am.gonna take is downgrading to GB then factory reset as i understood this won't brick my phone if I got it carrectly
May be it's calibration thing ... Check the attatched photo the batteru since 3 a.m. To 9 a.m. Is almost at same level or increasing .. Maybe it's some kinda of system calibratoon of battery indicator against battery fast drain while working .. I dunt know
In system settings > battery: what is reported there?
Have you tried boot in "safe mode" to see if it still drain the same way? It will exclude most of user installed stuff as your downloaded apps and such from running.
But remember you might loose some user settings on your phone when booting normal again after safe mode.

although battery calibration app does nothing to do the battery hardware, but it does calibrate on how the battery percentage is being read by your phone. It wiped your battery status, allowing 100% charged to be read as 100% charged. sometimes, due to various reason (ie. flashing without fully charging), your battery status will be inaccurately read by your phone. For example, you charge your phone upto 2000, havent completely charged to the max capacity (2500) but the phone already read 2000 as 100%. and because of this, it will look like your battery drain really fast or the percentage jumping up and down. i guess.
wiping battery status requires you to have root access. thus, this app will only work when you have rooted your phone.
it is true that after a few cycles (not sure how many times) of charging the battery status may go back normal but hey, if we can make sure to do this calibration with only one cycle, why we have to do more?

My battery is crazy. Yep in deep sleep some times it increase 1 % .... On the other hand while working with the phone it drains very rabidly at a rate 3-3.5 % per minute .... Either on wifi or not ... It's normal rate used to be 5 % per minute till the day iinstalled that game and the problem persists even after i removed it
As for the explanation in the thread ptovided it does not make sense to me .. Because every time the battery jumps up the battery drain becomes soooooo rapid afterwards

There's Dr ketans thread on rooting in the stickies of development section, it's very simple.
After 1 or two full charge cycles, the battery will recalibrate itself, no need for any app, they don't do anything anyway.

Hello everyone, need some advice. I am unable to know if my battery is functioning normal or should i get it replaced. Please see the atached picture. You will see that my battery draining off within 4hrs with 2G data on. It has been happening from past 2 weeks. Just want to know if it is normal on 2G. Or should i get my battery replaced with a new one. I have read somewhere that with 2G battery of Galaxy Note lasts for about 6 to 7 hrs. Mine goes for just 4 hrs max.
Few details about my usage:
1. Data sync is not on all the time. But for every half an hour i keep data sync on for 30 for 40 seconds max to retrive mails.
2. I dont not watch any videos, online or on mobile.
3. I dont play games at all though i have around 20 games bcoz of this poor battery life.
4. I do not do video calling.
5. With the above usage and little bit of online videos using wifi, I get around 3 to 4 hrs of battery life.

shut down problem with Note

Hi everyone, i have a problem with my Note, i am not very good with English i hope you will forgive me if i make any mistakes
When i play games, use application, use wifi or something like that my screen flickers and the phone shut down. If i try to open it again it warns me that i dont have battery, appears that i have 1% battery and close again although i have more than 70%. After 10-15 minutes i open it and shows battery 70%. If i talk there is no problem, i can use the phone but what ever else i will do it shut down.
My phone is not rooted, i have used factory settings but no result, i have also removed the micro sd card and still the same.
Can anyone help me with my problem?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Battery or soft problem

I don't know how to explain this... Hope you'll understand me. So my phone was full charged so i put out the charger and i go to school. After 6 hours i came back and my battery was at 50%. I was surprised but when i tried to call someone my phone died. So when i starded battery was at 3%. Same thing today, i put out my phone from charger after 2 hours i tried to do 2 photos and *bam* died - 3% battery.
There is a screenshot so you can see what i mean. Can you tell me what is the problem? Hope you understand me
wow, that's a HUGE drain. I recommend installing a wakelock detector to see what is causing that huge drain on your phone
This is how you would go about using the app to find the issue.
1) Install the app from google play "Wakelock Detector-Save Battery"
2) Open it
3) Once it opens, reboot your phone
4) Once it reboots, leave it for 5 mins
5) Unlock your phone and open the wakelock detector
6) Check the bar at the top to see if your phone was asleep and how long it was asleep for (should be around 4 mins)
If it is 4 mins or above, then your phone should not be having battery drain, ensure you are swiping away apps after use.
If your phone was awake the whole time, then you will be able to see what is causing this and you should uninstall this app
Also, you should enable the power saving option to maximise battery life.
Make sure you charge the phone while its turned off, apps can interfere with the charging process while the phone is one, this could also be the cause of your drain, so turn off and then charge.

I think WD thread is the best place to ask & WD will help you only to detect which app is draining your battery.

I'm just sayn' that i don't think that is a problem with some drain. I think than my phone don't know exactly how much battery have. Sometimes has 3% and after one second of chargin' has 47%. I just reset phone to factory settings and, same problem ):. I'll post there. Hope that someone can help me

Ok, there is no specific app that is causing that your problem. So do you charge while your mobile is on, or off?
Also, is your phone rooted? If it is, try re-calibrating your battery.

Battery 15% to Phone dead in 2 sec...

hi.
i get only 3 hours of SOT max and the real problem is that when the battery goes down to 15% it all of a sudden gives me prompt that battery is low and then in next 3 seconds it says battery is 1% and then mobile turns off and it does not even turn on again!!!
i even try to on it but it does not that means all the charge is just gone away...
can anyone help me whats wrong? i have Dr. Ketan rom L3

here are 2 images i took of the problem im talking about:

Just flash the stock firmware and kernel, and see if it solves the problem. If not then you have a dead battery on your hands.
I also have the same problem, it also seems to happen at 30 percent. I'm pretty sure we need to change our battery

Well its the easiest way to see if it is rom/kernel related or if something is wrong with the hardware.

ok thank you. just one more question just to be safe, should i just download the firmware from sammobile and flash via odin in download mode right?
and another fellow here advised me to calibrate my battery to check if its hardware or software. he told me to charge to 100% and delete this file data/ system / and delete BatteryStats.bin use to 0% and then charge 100%. should i do it before going stock or not?
had the same issue a few days back (f2 stock rom and kernel), battery dropped from 17% to 0 within a few seconds.
but this occured only once, the next cycle was ok, so i guess it was a calibration issue!

Easiest to try battery calibration first. If that doesn't work after a couple of cycles then just flash the stock rom from Sammobile using Odin.

ok thank you guys, i guess i just have a ****ty life and very very ****ty luck happens to every phone tablet i buy. FML
There are 3 possible reasons this happens - broken phone, broken battery or software problem.
I think the first one is unlikely so you need to figure out which of the last 2 is.
Make a back up of your current rom and install an official TW software. If this still doesnt fix your problem, its most likely the battery. A new genuine battery is around 20$.
PS - i think that the battery stats bin file is automatically deleted once you fully charge the battery anyway but you can still try it altough i doubt it will fix it.

same problem here
And here.
This is typical of a dead battery. Your best bet is to buy a new one.
Less than a year is short but not unheard of. Overheating (especially when 100% full), deep discharge, very intensive use (especially with quick charging) and manufacturing defects all can kill a battery.
I'm on CM12.1 with this problem. I've tried battery calibration and tried a new battery but its still apparent.
Will be trying a factory reset as my last resort.
This is happening to 2 phones in my household it started after the upgrade to 5.0.1 one note is Tmobile the other sprint....highly doubt we both developed battery problems RIGHT after we both ota upgraded.
Same here at ~13%.
I do always either fast charge or QI charge.
So far I've tried:
- Battery calibration
- Bought new battery
- Factory reset
Still happens!!
Maybe I'll try TW flash or modem change
Weird, I have this exact same problem as the original post. I'm running BOC5 on the 9105. It's a sporadic problem only occurring on occasion

I've been running Lollipop for ages until this problem happened. Frankly, I still prefer Lollipop with this problem.
