Does anyone have experience with some of the cheap batteries found on ebay.
I use to buy cheap Hong Kong batteries for my Blackberrys from ebay (for as little as a $5). Of course I'm not expecting stellar performance at this price but I found I'd get 75% as much as the original from some and as little as 30 mins on standby from others!
Has anyone had any success with this?
I'll be able to tell you in a few weeks. I just ordered a couple and they are due in next weeks.
Awesome. Thanks!
I bought one of the cheap aftermarket batteries from eBay. It seems to work OK, if slightly shorter than the original Dell battery (this is just subjective - I have not done a direct comparison). Then again, I have 3 original Dell batteries and (subjectively) they also seem to have variances in how long they last.
I have also bought similar batteries for my previous phones (a Toshiba TG01 and a load of HTC devices) with no problems.
For the cost of the Hong Kong batteries, they are very cheap insurance against ending up somewhere with a flat Dell and no way to charge it.
Could you perhaps link me to the seller you bought from?
i usually dont put cheap batts in my phones...buy some quality ones! theyll last longer and wont drain as quick...

Just do a search on eBay - http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=...w=(Dell,slacker)+(Streak,"Mini+5",G2)+battery - and choose the cheapest.
The one I bought was item 360304238945 from seller grade_a_battery but I suspect that they all come from the same factory, so I would just choose the cheapest. The battery I received was physically identical to the original Dell one (other than the sticker on it).

Given that the cheaper batteries on eBay cost under £8 each, whereas the official Dell battery costs over £38 - http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&sku=451-11431 - and the cheaper batteries are almost as good as (if not identical to) the Dell originals, I really can't agree with you.

Never hurt a device that I've had to use cheap batteries. Cheap chargers on the other hand can destroy your good batteries.
So what do you use to charge your batteries (cheap or otherwise)?
I order one of the universal lithium chargers off of ebay.

I was planning on just swapping them out of the device as needed. Not the best situation but I've ruined batteries with cheap chargers. Problem is the damage takes a while to be evidenced so it's hard to know if your charger is ruining your battery. If there is an official stand alone charger from Dell at some point in the future then I'll probably pick that up. It's unfortunate that they sell extra batteries but no extra chargers.
Is anyone aware of a good quality charger for these batteries?
So your plan is to use the streak as the charger.
I thought about that but it is in the charging phase that batteries are at their most dangerous (to damage the phone).
Yes that was my plan
I didn't know that would be a good way to damage the phone.
I'm guessing the damage would be to a processor in a similar way that processors are damaged in a computer. I know a bit about this. Specifically that small changes in voltage can quickly ruin a processor. I've seen as little as using 1.5V, where 1.4V was the specified maximum, permanently degrade a processor after only 30 minutes of use. Also heat issues could possibly arise (though in desktop computing this is a huge misconception as it is almost impossible to damage a CPU like this these days because of built in self preservation mechanisms).
But for those in warranty it would be impossible for Dell/whoever to tell that this is why, so there isn't too much risk if it did come to that.
I wish that an expert would weigh in here.
What I was thinking of was when batteries fail they leak, get too hot, or explode.
These things usually happen during the charging cycle of a batter.
Put it this way, I left my streak charging with a motorola charger (700ma), don't know if it makes any difference, left it overnight charging from 30%, next morning the streak had no charge and wouldn't charge the battery, now I have 2 batteries and a desktop charger made of 2 desktop chargers lol and a dell streak that won't charge, I already have tried a few cables even a dock and no go on the charging, I can sync the streak and transfer files but nothing on charging. I highly suggest you buy a desktop charger for those cheap batteries. its only $5 on the most.
Also there is a power management IC (TPS 65023)in charge of any power related thing, worst case if your battery over voltages it will burn that IC before it reaches the cpu.

I run my laptop and my Dell Streak on cheap batteries. My Toshiba NB100 gets 5 hours on a charge (1 hour more than original battery) and the cheap 7 pound Cameron Sino battery in my Streak is easily comparable to the genuine item
I bought two cheapie batteries for the Streak and neither will charge in the streak itself. (I get a temperature warning and info that the battery will not charge.)
HOWEVER...
I bought one of those cheapie external battery chargers (search "Dell Streak battery charger on ebay) and I am able to charge the battery in it. It lasts as long as the original battery and it gives me great peace of mind knowing I have a fully charged battery for my Streak in reserve.
I think i am going to buy this one...you get 2 of the 1600mah batteries and a charger for less than 25$....They look pretty good and are bigger than the stock 1530mah...I also found a 1650mah however this is a better deal....I also found a sweet bluetooth keyboard for less than 5$...I have a love/hate ebay though...Bought over a 100 things and always seem to get 1 in 2 things...lol...rest of the time I either get my money back or get ripped off...been waiting for 2 months for screen protectors...lol....

To get more power from a Lithium battery you need to make it bigger (see the Mugen batteries), batteries that boast a higher Amp rating at the same size are just Chinese salesmanship. Not saying don't buy them, just be aware that they most likely will not last longer than your original.

I have just bought this 2X Battery + Charger. The Charger has a foldaway 2 pin US AC plug but the seller also provides a UK slip on adapter. See here
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/B11u-2-Batter...438?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19c4447a16
I am really pleased with the purchase. The Charger is very good and the batteries are fine, just what you would expect and will do me in an emergency.
I can recommend the seller too. He communicates and is very helpful. When the UK adapter was received broken he has promised to send a replacement.

I think to charge streak the charger output needs to be 1000mA.
I have a mungen battery, very good investment. Last longer then original, wouldn't trust the cheap hk ones.

That's a killer price... and they take paypal. Thanks Hexto!
My only question is... will adding 200mAh really make a big difference?
I was thinking of ordering one of these, too, but now I'm not sure if I need to. Ever since learning that the Calendar was causing my phone not to sleep, I have been being sure to keep that process killed. Let me tell you it has made a HUGE result. I unplug my phone around 8am every day and usually by lunchtime I have a battery that is about 40%. And that is just with moderate use.
Today I unplugged it at the same time and have been streaming BT audio to my car for about 4 hours straight. Now it's 4:30pm and the battery is still at 60%! All by just killing the Calendar process.
Hopefully HTC/Google can get that software kink worked out in the next release.
I agree. Ever since I found what wasn't letting my phone sleep, my battery life has improved tremendously. Also, now that I'm using TaskPanel, all apps that I don't need open get auto-killed when my phone sleeps. That's why I was wondering if the extra 200 mAh would be worth it, even if it is only $5. Anyone have any opinion?
I always like to have an extra battery for when I go camping or travel. Doubt 200mAh will make much of a difference but at that price I'd I don't have to even think about it. Its the price of a foot long
thanks for posting - I bought two to have as extras. They will come in handy at some point!
Where could I find an extra charger for batteries only?
Thanks.

I agree that having an extra battery could come in handy at times. I have to say I am a bit worried about removing the battery cover any more than absolutely necessary, though. With my Droid, the battery cover falls off at will, and I wonder how the Incredible's battery cover will hold up to being removed repeatedly.

My only question is, when my Incredible explodes after installing this battery, can I claim manufacturer's defect? :~P

I'd like to know the answer to this because DealExtreme has some kick ass prices on damn near EVERYTHING!
I don't see how this would work. Contacts seem to be in wrong place. The TP2 is different than the TP, but I could be wrong, it's been known to happen...
You would need to get the base plate for the TP2 battery to charge. Same as incredible.
Or you can do what I just did and placed 20 orders for my client for their incredible
Ebay hkcyberport
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...Category=20336&_trkparms=algo=LVI&its=I&otn=1
It comes with an OEM HTC TP2 battery and charger with the correct plate. It also has a USB(mini) plug to dual charge or plug into laptop.
$10.88 with battery and free shipping. I don't need it right away so the 7-10 days is not big deal.

DX batteries are notorious for being over-rated in their capacity. Plus at that price I doubt if the batteries are protected from overdischarging...explosion would be a possibility.
You can also go to eBay and type in htc incredible battery
and there will be a bundle of 2 of those with a standalone desktop charger for the batteries for about 10-15 shipped.
You can also buy a 14piece bundle with screen protectors, styluses, chargers, the above battery bundle, and a couple cases and more for about 35-40$ shipped.
Well, I just received the battery from DealExtreme. Although it fits in the slot, it will not charge or power up. Either I received a DOA battery, or it does not work. Either way, save your $5.
Planning to buy a second battery for the HD2.
Certainly would be convenient to be able to charge the spare battery externally, and have it ready for use.
Anyone know of an external battery charger that is available? Anyone here actually tried one, and could tell us if it works well or not?
I see one on Ebay-
http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-AC-WALL...CH-HD2-T8585-/290466531133?pt=PDA_Accessories
Don't know if it is any good though.
Also, not sure if it is really for the HD2 battery. The ad says it is for the "HTC TOUCH HD2 T8585".
Is the HD2 ever called "Touch HD2"? Or do they have it confused with the Touch Pro? What is that number T8585?
Farther down I thought I recall it said something like "for Sprint HD2", although I don't see that now. Sprint doesn't have the HD2, does it?
Even at a cheap price like that, it would be kind of a drag to buy that, and it doesn't fit the HD2 battery at all, then you have to pay for return shipping. (At least it is shipped from the USA, unusual for that kind of thing.)
Anyone here tried one of these, or another one? It would certainly add to the convenience, if one has an extra battery, to be able to charge one externally? (This one says it can charge two, but I don't see how from the pic.)
I just bought a spare battery from this place.
http://www.obostore.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_45&products_id=189
I bought one and it cooks my batteries. We should start a thread dedicated to finding after market and OEM batteries online. I purchased several batteries from ebay vendors and IMMEDIATELY tested them using a Triton (RC Hobby Computer chargers) it is sophisticated and charges to max recommended voltage then MEASURES the wattage during a fixed drain cycle. I sent up the drain cycle assuming a 5 hour talk time. (MAH of batteries / 5). EBAY batteries consistently only gave 750-850 mah although they claimed over 1000. One seller (I tested 2 batteries) only had 450 and 465 mah.
I purchased cradle chargers, "OEM" Car chargers, as well as wall chargers. The bottom line is that Chinese produced items are prey to the lowest price regime that is the nature of the Chinese market. Quality is non existent, just the lowest price for an item that resembles a quality product.
Stick with verizon, sprint etc chargers that are proven and tested. That was the best solution for me. I tried to purchase an "OEM" HTC [email protected] charger ebay. It had a poor replica of an HTC logo and it also seems to overcharge and cook my batteries.
Anyone else have any experience or opinions?
Now you got me scared about buying one of the battery chargers.
By the way though, just about everything we buy here (certainly electronics) is made in China. But yes, if it is non brand name, or fake brand name, it might not (or might) have the same quality. (And if shipped from China, not worth returning if it is a dud.)
You say "stick with Verizon and Sprint chargers". Well, the HD2 is not sold by Sprint and Verizon. Are you saying they put out a charger for one of their phones, that uses the exact same batteries? Link to those chargers? Thanks.

Thank you, but just telling us where you bought your battery and charger don't tell us much, without a review of them.
I also posted a link to a charger in the OP, and asked if anyone has tried it, and knows if it is any good.
The previous poster wrote that the no-name chargers can damage the batteries. I don't know if he or she is correct or not, but it scared me about buying one. The battery and charger you linked to are no-name. Have you tested them, the way the previous poster did?
Also, the products you linked to seem very expensive, but I don't know the relationship of Hong Kong dollars to US dollars. Anyone know?
Well, I just bought the one I mentioned in the second post, from Ebay.
At $5.99, free shipping, ships from the USA, I figure not much to lose.
I guess I'll be nervous whether the poster is correct about generic chargers "cooking" batteries. I don't know how I would know, if the charger is damaging to batteries or not. Would they be too hot after charging?
By the way, for those interested in a "cradle" for the HD2, which also has a space for charging an extra battery, I saw one on Amazon, about $20. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1FZ013TFV210J7ZAEDS6
(I have no need for a cradle though, and prefer the small charger only design.

lol.. i am using the charger and battery as we speak... and its not some no-name charger and battery.. the brand is MOMAX.. they have a website momax.net which shows their items.. the battery is fit for use for HD2 original battery and the momax battery, which is why i bought it.. the charger has got 2 charging points, direct to hd2 like the normal charger, and external battery charging function, which is what i liked about it.. no need to switch between 2 chargers, 1 stop solution for the battery in my phone and the other spare battery, whether is it the original battery or their momax battery.
Well, having a name one never heard of like "Momax", doesn't mean the product is not "no name". By the latter I did not mean no name at all, but not a recognized brand name.
Not saying that all products without a recognized brand name are no good (I ended up ordering one, in fact), just that one is taking a chance. (And I think I would have taken just as much of a chance with "Momax" as with the one I ordered.) Besides, the one I ordered was shipped from the USA, much better for returns, quick shipping, etc., than something ordered from Hong Kong.
By the way, do you work for that company "Momax"?

nope, not me..
I have the charger pictured in the 2nd post here, ive had it for over 2 months charging batteries in it daily and have had no problems with the charger or batteries.
The seller i bought it from was US based and they also shipped 2 additional batteries with it, so i now rotate my batteries. I have one in the phone, a spare that i carry in my wallet, and one in the charger at all times. When the phone battery dies it goes into the charger, the charged one goes to my wallet ,and the one in my wallet goes to the phone.
I started doing this ever since I had to return by HD2 due to a damaged USB port causing it to go into car kit mode. I think i have only used this new HD2's USB port twice for charging since i got it. I prefer to just swap the batteries.
This works out great because i never have to worry about carrying around a charger and finding a place to stop for awhile to charge up a bit
It does however seem the charger is incapable of charging a battery and phone via the usb port simultaneously. If i put a dead battery in it the charge light will light up red to indicate it is charging, as soon as i plug something into the usb port the light will go blue to indicate charging is done. Im guessing the internal power supply isnt beefy enough to simultaneously charge both
Just bought the same charger listed in the 2nd post. Seller informed me of delayed USPS pickup due to the snow storm in NY area
Oh well for $5 if it doesn't work as expected it won't hurt my wallet.
charger arrived last night, tested with the stock battery. Charged to full in 3 hours, so far so good.
Only complaint: the charger is slight narrower compared to the battery, so about 1/8 inch of the battery is sticking out during the charging process. It does look cheap but gets the job done. Besides, it's only $5.
Now I just swap batteries (I bought an extra battery elsewhere) and don't have to use the USB port to charge anymore, woohoo!
going to buy this charger from ebay..will review it later when it comes

Busted USB port here, about 6 months ago, bought the same charger and a spare battery, and it hasn't failed me yet. The battery does stick out the one side a bit, but it works. Only problem I ever had was the one time I let my gf switch my batteries in it and she bent one of the charger's contact pins. I bent it back, and it's worked well since.
I actually prefer battery swapping now over charging.
I am on travel very often and my last experience with my Desire was that when working on the phone with no possibility of charging it, I was left with very little or non battery late afternoon. Any suggestion for a good Travel Battery Pack anyone? One extra charge will do. Thanks

Maximum price = 1.44461 / 1.44661
Hope this helps
i use solar charger it has built in 3000Ma battery you can also charge it from pc or adapter and ready to go with extra power. Have it from ebay for $29
Did anyone test any spare batteries from ebay? Thought of getting some, but not sure if it is worth it or not (the charge should at least be as high as the stock battery's) .
Got this few days ago from a china online retailer. Good construction and nice pocketable size. Slightly heavier than LG2X & about 20% thicker. Comes with 0.5A & 1A USB output.
So far, on 0.5A output, no in-charger lock ups yet - which I do get from some AC chargers.
Priced upwards of US$35. Google for "5000mah Power Bank".
will LG come out with an extended battery for the Optimus 2X ?
If they made 2 models. one like we have with a 1500 battery and one that is 1.2-1.4X thicker with lets say a 3000 battery I think almost everybody would choose the slightly thicker 3000 battery model.
These devices are small enough as it is, they should now stop trying to make them smaller as they are surely limited by the screen size, and make them last longer.
I had a Del Axim X50v a few years back that I brought an extended battery and battery cover for, this actually made the device feel better in the hand.
I think the future is not far... for batteries that are either running on gas or like these ones which can be fully charged in less than 3 min. http://green.autoblog.com/2011/03/23/new-battery-technology-electric-vehicles-recharge-minutes/

would like an option for dock/ battery charger and 2 batteries from ebay but combo NA last time i checked
Does anyone know of a portable battery pack that charges at over 500mah? all of the battery packs Ive seen are around 500mah and that doesn't seem to be enough to even charge the G2X coming from my old charger.

I am using a 5000mah capacity battery pack. It has a USB port with 500mA output and another USB port with 1000mA output. See post no. 8 on this thread.

Only tested twice from over 70% to full on 0.5A. Took longer than using AC adapter. Tried it once on 1A but got a bit hot quite quickly, so I switched over to 0.5A. Also, it takes a while to charge the pack itself from partial empty to full on 1A AC adapter - so I am guessing the 5000mah claim is reasonably accurate.
I bought this item from DealExtreme.
2200mAh Rechargeable Portable Emergency Power with Phone Adapters
SKU: 23734
It works fine, but the input broke after some uses and I had to fix it.
Energizer works best for me... as LG P990 wouldn't last a day with WiFi and 3G active... i have XP2000 and it works great!, the free tip for life is a welcome bonus... I'd post the link but since am a newbie, i cant.
please google Energizer Energi to go or energizer XP2000
After the battery that came with my note stopped charging i decided to buy a replacement. So what do you think guys about this?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121393966563
I have already bought it but i don't know if its really genuine. Feedback about the batteries they have selled so far is good. Batteries for my phone in my country cost 40 euros so i thought that this is a good offer but what if my phone gets damaged after using this battery? How do i recognize fake batteries?
Zerolemon plain and simple I paid 44. 95 for it makes the phone heavy but that's OK I like weight battery last 3 days
Here it is

No, they're not genuine and will very likely not be true capacity.
If you're looking for a standard capacity aftermarket battery I would highly recommend these..
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B208QDU/
I use them every single day as I just keep 3 batteries charged via a external wall charger and just swap batteries when needed instead of leaving phone plugged in. They last as long as my genuine battery does.
As mentioned above though, If you want an external you cant beat the ZeroLemon
PS. In future please use search, We already have plenty of eBay/battery topics so you could have just replied to one of them or read them and not needed to. Opening topics like this just adds to an already cluttered forum.
Not to sound like Anker fan-boy lol!!!, but www.amazon.co.uk/Anker®-3100mAh-Battery-Samsung-GT-N7100/dp/B009OWLTLO/ - those are highly reliable and on US amazon have hundreds of 5-star reviews. Actually, I prefer their 2x battery + wall charger combo for $25: www.amazon.com/3100mAh-Batteries-T-Mobile-Cellular-EB595675LA/dp/B009SYL6C0/ - convenient to use one while charging the other one and swap it. Not sure if it's available on Amazon UK.
Well, i currently live in Cyprus so i can only order from the amazon uk and on amazon uk the shipping is very expensive so i can only buy from ebay. I don't know about anker batteries. Are they good?

I never had issues with them and reviewed all of their batteries, internal and external. Just so people wouldn't think that I'm biased because i review a lot of their stuff, just go to US Amazon and search for their products, typically hundreds and sometime thousands of 5-star reviews for their external batteries and internal batteries.

So, Pantapanta1, did You get the battery?
Can You test it with Nova Battery Tester, and provide results?
The battery came but i havent tried it yet. From what i can say its fake because the weight of the oem battery is 54g and the weight of this battery is 51. I will test and come with results!
7 dollars. Works great.

I haven't had any luck with aftermarket batteries other than Zero Lemon and Samsung official. All the off brand ones I bought suffered battery drain issues after a couple of weeks.
I'm looking for a replacement battery for my 910T. I remember Samsung had a battery and external charger for the spare battery...?
Anyway, wondering if anyone can suggest a good place (price) for a genuine Samsung battery.
Thanks in advance.

This is probably the last genuine battery available.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung...lack/9061116.p?id=1219389049134&skuId=9061116
After these are gone all the rest found on will either be questionable copies or third party ones like Anker.

I tried waiting at Samsung web site for over 3 weeks for a battery, with no response, I have 2 note 4, black and white for me and my wife...
my 4 older Samsung batteries and 2 charger kits and they don't hold a charge anymore, from about 10 - 15 percent left, they shut down...
I just bought anker batteries on ebay with a charger for about $31, they hold a charge to 1%.. about 2 weeks ago.
they are lasting much better than the samsungs. and buying Samsung batteries on ebay or amazon.. u might be getting these fake batteries that don't last..
I've always gone Amazon. They were OEM batteries. I always check the feedback to make sure they aren't pulling a bait and switch.

The ones on Amazon are 99% fake knock offs which risk fire. Any story you have read online about a phone catching fire is usually either a result of a cheap knock off battery or adapter.
The only two places that have Note 4 batteries still are 100% legit.
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB-BN910BBUSTA
and the Best Buy kit I posted earlier in the thread. Anywhere else is questionable.
If a big box store gets them like B & H they will be legit too.
Amazon's inventory has been proven to be compromised. Several have posted online about their batteries even "shipped and sold by amazon" had been clones.
In case you didnt know this happens often on Amazon. The SD Card market and perfume market on Amazon even from Amazon is also like this.
I'm using the Zerolemon 10000mah battery, also if there is a Batteries+ they stock standard replacement batteries for most phones.
Im very happy with Anker bought on Amazon.

I definitely recommend the anker batteries. You can buy them on Amazon.

Hey DeeXii, really appreciate your information. But the Samsug page directs you to purchase it from Amazon. It says it is shipped and sold by Amazon too. Do you think this one is legit as long as it is sold by Amazon? Cause it is heck of a lot cheaper than the BestBuy one...

I would recommend the one from Anker, same capacity as OEM from a reputable brand that makes batteries. It also comes with 18 month warranty and a bit cheaper than OEM one. If you still want the OEM one make sure it is shipped and sold by Amazon.com and you should be fine.
I ordered 2 anker and a external charger on eBay for $35
I hope they're real.

1 battery can last me one day, sometimes down to 30 percent, depends on what I am doing, other times, down to 20 and under.. but it makes the day, then I swap and use the other, but only when it drains to 1 2 or 3...
they are better than all these knock off, I think I paid $31.. but they are better than all my old ones put together, wait till my wife come back from vacation, she will definitely take 1, then I will have 4 old batteries. then I have to test the old batteries and anything that shuts down from 20 or 15 percent is getting retired, junked out..
maybe I will have to buy another set to be happy..

I just Re-read your post, you did say that. Well I got (hopefully) the same thing, I think I paid $32 to be exact. Fingers crossed.
I'm waiting on these in the mail. I wonder if they will be good? Ebay item 201375415018 How would I tell if they are fakes?
I'm waiting for my anker package with 2 batteries and an external charger myself.
I read in another thread, they blame the quick charge 2.0 puck for damaging the batteries. Saying the increase voltage pushed to the battery for fast charging is what kills the life of the battery.
So my question is, those who have replaced Samsung with aftermarket batteries, are you still charging at night with the Samsung qc2.0? Or just using a 1amp or 2amp charger?
Help appreciated.
Mostly use the old 2A charger to prolong battery longevity. Need a quick boost? Adaptive fast charger or turbo charger from moto.
I unlocked your mum's bootloader.
Well I disabled fast charge option on the phone so it should be charging at a "normal" rate now and not the high voltage charging.
So far these anker batteries seem excellent, at least compared to my very degraded original samsung batteries. A deal for 2 Batts and a external charger Imho.
The more I use regular charging, my battery appears to improve and return to normal. All this only supports my reservation towards devices with sealed batteries.
