[Q] What is your /cache size? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My current /cache partition size is just 28 MB, which seems to be restricting what apps I can download from the market. Can someone else please post their /cache partition size?

/cache is 30MB total size for mine - stock DTJP5 (Australia/Unbranded). But only about 2MB used, 28MB available.

cheers. It's not the total size that's the problem then, but rather how much of the cache is used up. I currently have 4 MB used up, and I can't seem to make that number any smaller even if I format cache.

[Q] Help on ext4 Manager

I am a newbie at the developer's forums and don't know whether to post this in General or Developer's Section.
I recently installed a stock based Custom ROM and had EXT4 Manager in it from default. I saw some options in it which gives 4 different partitions on my phone.
/System
/System/sd
/data
/cache
I hgave about 60 MB free space in system partition. I wanted to ask if there is any use of this space or if I could decrease this partition's size and increase the size of Data partition??

[Q] How to change internal partition???

Hi
I want to use ART in CM11 on my P1 to do this I need to:
"NOTE: If you want to use ART, your cache partition (P1/L/N: internal sdcard 3rd partition; SCH-I800/SPH-P100: internal sdcard 1st partition) must be bigger than 105MB, ideally 210MB or more"
Now I have:
/data 1.96 GB
/cache 98.4 MB
sdcard0 12.8 GB
And I want:
/cache 210MB

I would also like to know how to do it, if it may be useful. The idea of using ART, came from terenceg, for the [ROM] CM-11.0 | AOSP 4.4.1 KitKat | Galaxy Tab 7" [Dec 6, 2013]. I am not sure if changing partitions will break the cm 11 Nightly or not. However, the idea of double app speed in ART sounds wonderful! I only have 2 partitions, 1 of 1.87 GB with 1.17 GB available and 1 of 12.83 GB, with 10.3 GB available. Most media is on External SD. I use cm-11-20131209-NIGHTLY-p1 with the built-in Kernel 3.0.101-g664e662.
Also, my wifi download speed has always been very slow, my baseband is P1000XXJPZ. I am sure its been that way since FROYO. 3g/HSDPA works very well.

Hear is detailed instruction on resizing cache partition.

Another variant of instruction.

move data to cache

Would it be possible to move (link) some user data (emails etc.) to /cache partition? I have only 14 of 885 MB used. It seems also that the dalvik cache (400 MB) is stored somewhere else. I wonder why the /cache partition is not used to the purpose it should be.
Found threads like these:

Also /system partition seems to be quite unused. I have only 418 MB of 1.97 GB used. Why not link some app data there?
btw... I use CM11 latest nightly
edit: ok, I tried the guide from the latest link and it works... I got extra 400 MB on /data partition and used a half of cache partition...

How to resize the system partition?

I want to increase the system partition to 1.5 GB as possible to make?
the system partition is already at 2GB by deafult! what possible reason do you have to increase it by 1.5GB?
Oh, sorry, i thought that he 1GB, so I have to be increased to 2.5 or up to 3 GB that I could fit all GApps
even the biggest gapps package with a rom wont take more that about 1200MB(from experience)
are you by any chance using a lollipop rom? cuz i have faced a bug where flashing one changes your /system size to 990MB though it actually is around 2200MB. Flashing a fresh rom, backing it up with TWRP,then formatting /system( which resets the partition to the original 2gb) and finally restoring the backup will fix the size problem and you will have around 1.5gb left for the gapps.
I use cm 12.1 and cm recovery.
I'll try your recommendation to flash twrp
flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/general/twrp-v2-8-6-0-f2fs-support-t3092316
then check the size of the /system partition after flashing cm12 (from twrp > wipe > advanced wipe > select 'system' then > fs options > it will show some info about /system.if it shows the size as somewhere around 990MB and Free Space = 0mb , then thats your problem
Yes, this method worked for me.
As I understand it is required after each reset to backup and recovery.

What is your /system partition size?

im only showing 1.5gb as the total size of my system partition the seems way small? is this right?
