Today I wantes to install the new Darky's Rom v9.0.2.
I downloaded everything, rootet my device (2.2 JPO) with Odin, installed Clockwork mode and started the update.zip.
At first i didn't wipe my sgs, just installed the zip. after some dialoge (This is Darky's Rom, installing this... done, etc) it rebooted and everything was as before, except for the forced closes. So I did a wipe and installed the zip again. This time there was some text too, but it rebooted too fast for me to read it. Then it stuck at the "Galaxy S, GT-I9000" logo, where it should enter the clockwork mode. I pressed vol up + home + power to give it another try, but now my phone won't go past the Samsung logo I already tried to remove the battery, or use the combination for the recovery and download mode but none of it helped.
If I plug in the battery charger, the battery logo shows, but it freezes while loading the battery status.
Is there a way to fix it? I just want the recovery mode to work again
Ask Darky its his rom does that not make more sense .
Or wipe the lot .

I cant wipe it when I cant get into the recovery mode..
so you cant get into recovery mode... What about Download mode ??
Download didn't work either..
Edit:
lol.. I removed the battery for about 10 minutes and tried it again. Recovery mode still wont work, and the phone doesnt shut down too, BUT the download mode works
so back to odin
thats your best bet these phones are pretty unbrickable lol. just a ball ache having to restore everything when summit goes wrong.
Yeah, it's really a pain in the ass -.-
I'm really relieved now though. I really thought I bricked it
I hope everything'll be fixed by midnight

Flash to v8.0 first, then flash to v9.0.2. That seems to be more stable.

As it says in the title.
I have an orange (uk) branded SGS,( Three button recovery disabled) I'd rooted it and was running a rom but it was buggy, so I dragged new version to the sd card, wipe etc and on startup clockwork recovery won't boot/load and if I just try to start the phone normally it gets stuck in a FC loop on startup, meaning I cannot do anything with the phone.
I can boot into recovery via usb to recovery Utils but wiping does nothing and flashing a zip (no options what) tried to install clockwork mod, but it just hangs...
I'm stuck, there are roms etc on the sd to flash, but I cannot get to them...
Tried via Kies but it doesn't see the phone...
Help please....
Cheers.
haha I just posted exactly the same message. Seems we are stuck in the same boat buddy
Hey mate. got a solution for you.
First go to the development section of the i9000. Download a rom that takes your fancy (I know have 2.2 froyo!) Then boot your phone into download mode. (Turn on while holding power button, volume button down and centre button.
It should now have the android fella with a shovel.
On your PC open up odin, (should be in the pack of the rom you d'lded).
Fill in all the files in Odin.
Click go and flash the new firmware, jobs a good un!
Im at work at the moment but if you get stuck let me know and i'll reply to the thread tonight.
I don't have a three button mode, Orange disabled it.....
I don't actually know what Odin is? I have Kies on the pc, but always used rom manager after dragging roms to the sd card.
Looking like I ring the Orange business support and cry wolf....
Edit, downloading odin now....
Hey guys,
So, I'm running Darky's Mod v8.2 with Voodoo Lagfix. I have a Captivate (from Rogers in Canada).
Earlier this evening, I decided I'd like to upgrade to Darky's Mod v9.3, so I downloaded the firmware file.
From there, I opened up Clockwork Mod, and set it to back up my current firmware, and then install the new one. This, of course, requires a reboot into Clockwork Mod Recovery. So, my phone reboots, but it's stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S I-9000" screen.
I left it to sit for a while, but naturally, it was to no avail. Next, I tried removing the battery, and turning on the phone (multiple) times. Same thing happens - stuck on boot screen. Next, I tried booting into recovery mode (multiple times) using VolumeUP+Home+Power. No deuce. Phone reboots itself until a take my fingers off the buttons. And finally, trying to boot into download mode isn't working (it just stays frozen).
Needless to say, I'm very freaked out. I really hope $550 isn't down the drain.
Any help is graciously appreciated.
Thanks.

Only if you cannot get into download mode with the recovery jig .

Okay. Thank you. I think I'll buy one off Ebay. As great as those instructions are, I don't trust myself to do it. xD
hey guys .
I am a new user of samsung captivate ..and i flashed my rom from fasty iii v1.3 to dlev v5 rom ..
it installed successfully ..but aftr rebooting ,my phone is not starting ..plz help .i am very tnsd
Did u disable the lag fix that was with Fasty before flashing Dlev ?
Can u get into Recovery to do this now if u did not before. If so do it, then wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, then reflash the Dlev Rom.
And if all of that fails, can u get into download mode ? If so, U may have to Odin to a stock Gingerbread with no bootloaders.
i am sry but i didnt knw that i have to remove the lag fix..
but the prb is ..i cant get in download or recovery mode..whenevr i press the power button..it shows "at&t" .then "galaxy s " and this keeps on repeating ..i am unable to do anything
You can use the button combo to get into recovery or download. --- Pull the battery, replace it and cover, hold down both volume up and down and power at the same time and then release when you see the at&t screen. That should boot u into recovery if you have i897 gingerbread bootloaders. I9000 gingerbread bootloaders is volume up + power button to get into recovery. Volume down + power to get into download.
I897 gingerbread bootloaders for download is phone off, hold volume +/- and insert micro usb into phone with usb end already connected to computer.
thanks a lot sir ..i have got into recovery mode ..can u plz xplain me in detail ..wat to do now..
Use the volume +/- to navigate up and down in the recovery and power button to select. Is there a "Disable lagfix" ??
no there is no option like "disable lagfix".
these are the options
*reboot
*apply update from sd card
*wipe data
*wipe cache partition
*install zip from sd card
*backup and restore
*mounts and storage
*advanced
*voodoo
*power off
Select voodoo, then u should be taken to more choices. Voodoo is the lagfix.
ok sir ..i have disabled lagfix in the voodoo menu ..
now ,wat i hav to do ??
select wipe data, wipe cache, then go to advanced and then wipe dalvik cache, then try reinstalling the dlev rom.
thanks a lot ..i wil just do that
it worked ..thanks a lot sir ..i am so grateful to u for ur help
Glad to help and glad you got it going. Have a good night.
gudnite ..tk care
Cappy stuck in boot loop
I tried installing gingerbread boot-loaders and everything seemed to go smoothly. Except for the fact that my phone is stuck in boot loop at the AT&T screen. I bought a jig and was able to get into download mode. I tried flashing to stock with Odin but it does not do anything and is still stuck in boot loop. I would greatly appreciate any help that would get my phone working again.

Are you saying you successfully flashed stock back but its still looping?
It seemed to flash successfully but once it rebooted I thought it would make it past the AT&T logo but it did not.

HELP!!!
Im stuck on boot logo and I cannot flash anything on PC Odin. And I cannot access Recovery Mode (Neither CWM or system recovery). I can only go into Download Mode.
I was on CheckRom NoteHD and I used the kitchen app to download franco kernel and one of the mods (Use camera flash below 15% to be precise) and as soon as I installed, it didn't let me boot back into Checkrom!!! And Now im stuck on boot logo no matter how hard I try. I did try flashing the wipe ROM (Pre-rooted Open Europe 2.3.6 LC1), I also tried flashing the CF-Root file but still no luck. PC Odin says failed in between the process!!
Please Help me guys.. I don't know what really went wrong as I have installed stuff from the KitchenPro App before.
What can I do now?
Thanks

First this:Turn off the device and pull the battery, wait for 30 seconds and try to get in recovery mode, if that works reflash CheckRom. If that doesn`t work pull the battery again and get in downloadmode and connect to the pc and see if Odin recognizes the phone. If it does flash any stock rom.

I tried the exact same thing you mentioned and no, it doesn't go into recovery mode. and yes, it does go into download mode but it fails to flash. I tried 2-3 different firmware versions of 2.3.6, 4.0.3 and I'm pretty sure the downloaded files aren't corrupt!! I don't know what to do...
The only thing working is getting to download mode but then thats no point since I can't flash any ROM.

There are threads about reviving recovery i think on xda, haven`t needed them so far but look around and you will find them. If you can`t restore recovery or downloadmode then it`s off to the shop i guess
Does Odin recognize your phone, what exactly goes wrong when flashing with Odin?

i have the same situation like you before ...try this ..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667886 i works for me..hope it works for you too...
"Battery Too Low, Can't Download"
Now there's another problem.
Not only I Can't flash anything, I can't even get to Download Mode because the battery is low.
When I press the Vol Down + Power + Home key, I get "Low Battery, Can't Download" in red font.
I left my phone on charge through the AC port and I had no idea it wouldn't charge. The only thing was that my phone was exteremly hot but still with zero battery. I even tried plugging the phone through the USB cable but still no luck.
I removed battery for few minutes upto 30 mins and put it back in and plugged in the charger but all I see is the empty battery symbol keeps flashing every 5 seconds.
Is there any way I can charge my battery and get back to download mode so I could try flashing the stock kernel to get past the boot screen? I even tried plugging in the USB jig that I used with my SGSII previously, but it was of no use as well.
Please Help!!!
your only option is to use a universal charger external, or borrow another note to put your battery in.
once your battery is full you can carry on the previous steps
good luck

Hey,
I managed to buy an external charger and I was able to go to Download Mode again.
After that I tried to flash stock kernel (stockKernelXXLA4.tar) And Odin said "Pass".
After that I was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Logo again.
I'm not sure what to do now!!
Please help.
Is there anything else that I could flash?
Even though I flashed a stock kernel, I still see a yellow exclamation mark..
PLEASE HELP, I NEED MY NOTE TO COME BACK TO LIFE!
Sorted this mess out!!!
I flashed "N7000JPLPD_N7000OJPLP7_N7000XXLPT_HOME.tar" And the phone now works!!!
Stock kernels didn't do the work for me, but the official ICS release did.
Thanks to all that contributed in the thread.
is the new release can do ?

OK... so a couple of days ago a friend of mine screwd my phone when he tried to install clockwork recovery without rooting, I was stuck at Samsung logo, no recovery, only download mode... so today after going through tons of threads so I could use Odin with ace on win8.. I finnaly managed to un**** it... so I could re**** it again... so I followed this thread after reviving the phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
After rooting and instaling cw, I tried to install a ROM on it, namely nightly cm (found somewhere here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2188679)... I got a status 7 error cause of the assertion, which in removed, after successfully installing the ROM (or so recovery mode said) I tried reboting and it no longer turned on. Doesn't seem to charge and it won't boot...
The only things I can think of that i did wrong were:
Having under 50% battery life
Not removing sim card
PS: also before installing ROM I cleared caches and reset to fact. Settings
Any ideas on how to fix this? If not, what did I do wrong here?
EDIT: ok so i think i figured out what i did, i wanted to download this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2199575 ... i went to the "external webstie" to download, and i think i downloaded this rom "android cm_skate-userdebug-cm-10.2 (stable)" which it seems its not for my phone :S ...
Is it possible to boot into download mode now? would a usb jig work? something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8822843&postcount=1
Or is it a lost cause?
Thanks...
PS: oh god, to think i removed the assertion that was saving my phone... ahh **facepalm** , why didnt i read the damn assertion...

If you want to use stock rom again then flash stock rom via odin through download mode. to get to download mode, press volume down + home + power button at the same time until it shows a small "downloading..." word. For further info, How to upgrade, root & flash Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830

Thanks for the answer, i know the "shrotcut", as i said in the op i used odin allready, but the big issue is the phone does not react to the power button, idk what the rom i installed did, if its bricked or if its just expecting a different input rather than the supposed power button, in which case the jig should work...
