My bluetooth earpiece doesnt function properly, I can use it to make a call and it works fine....but when answering calls, the bluetooth earpiece does not respond when I answer the phone, so then I click on the phone to answer and the phone speaker works properly.

Guys i really need some help here. I have been having this very weird issue with my X1.
When i call people or people call me 95% of the time they cant hear me at all, suggesting a problem with microphone obviously. BUT when i put them on loud speaker (by pressing the loudspeaker on the keypad whilst on call) everything is fine. They can hear me perfectly fine.
Does the X1 have 2 microphone by any chance and 2nd get enabled when on loudspeaker? I have tried several ROMs win6.1 and win6.5 and 4 different radios all with same result.
Anyone got a clue what is going on?
Many thanks in advance
When you use resco audio recorder, reset the phone and the mic should work on your next call.

I have never used resco audio recorder. Its not even installed on my phone.
When I use any audio recording on my phone it seems to cancel out the mic. For some odd reason.
So my issue is that the mic only works outside of a call, I just finished replacing the second mic(top) because it was broken... And it works great, but just doesn't work in a phone call.
Any suggestions on what may be the issue?
And how to fix the issue.
Reviving an old thread but then again, no one even replied.
I have a Lumia 930, and I know the 1520 was also affected by this. My issue is that the mic works fine with Cortana, SMS, dictation, and video recording. But in a call, on speakerphone only, it does not work. It's almost as if hitting speakerphone actually mutes the mic because it works fine as long as I'm not on speakerphone.
So you replaced the upper mic? Where did you find the part! Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I'm having an issue with my Galaxy S6 920A on T-Mobile. If I originate a call in an area of weak signal many times the receiver cannot hear me, as if the mic is not working. Happens about 50% of the time. No problems with the mic, sound recorder is fine, I can make wifi calls and works every time. Incoming calls work most of the time (occasionally, maybe about one out of 10 calls has same issue). The outgoing channel is working because I can send DTMF tones using the keypad and the receiver will hear those, just not any voice from the mic. This is happening on two phones, one with Android 7.0 and one with Android 5.0.1. Also doesn't matter if I use a bluetooth headset, same issue. Can't have a phone where I have a 50/50 chance of my recipient hearing me. Any help would be appreciated.
Can anyone help on this? I'm trying to figure out if I have a physical problem with the phone or if they all work like this. Seems unusual that I would have two phones bought at different stores with different color and they both have this issue. Thanks.

Hi all
Has anyone of you noticed problems with the microphone during Whatsapp video calls? I mean, I often make calls with my parents who distinctly hear only my voice but hear the voices of my daughters very badly. I tried using other phones convinced that the problem was in the speaker of the phone I was calling, but instead the voices are heard very well.
Is there any setting I can change?
Thanks!
