Google up "super oneclick" and see if that will get you the unlock code.
Have you gotten unlock codes from any of the other attempts?
What happens if you use them?
Do you get any kind of connection at all? Voice calls only?
Dump Darkys put stock Eclair on and see how the phone behaves .

Try this, It unlocked my phone where the oneclick option had failed.
Unlock
im going to try to try these methods

i think my captivate got an automatic update.
How do i know the nvdata.bin file has been deleted?
is there anyway to unlock if the nvdata.bin has been deleted ?
FYI I ran the market app from " DaGentooBoy" which also not able to find the unlock code. am I screwed ?
Why do you want to unlock?
Are you planning on switching to another GSM carrier or going overseas?
Are you planning on selling the phone on eBay and buying a different phone?
Or do you only want to unlock for the sake of saying you have an unlocked phone?
If you answered no, no, and yes (in that order) to any of those questions then you don't NEED to unlock.
Also, it was documented that upgrading to JH7 or JI6 deleted the nvdata.bin file from your phone, thus eliminating the possibilty of unlocking after you upgraded. You should have done it straight from JF6 when you got the phone, and backed up that file for future use. It pays to read and research.

this phone was giving to me by someone who left the country, and i'm on tmobile so i have no use for a att locked phone
boi.. i guess ur screwed then.. well there was a method to reset the unlock code to anything u want but u gotta search for it yourself in the forums here......dunno if that worked out for anyone....
also try searching the forums.....the nvdata.bin file i guess doesnt get deleted but the place where the unlock code is written gets filled with buffer values...
again, i guess i read somewhere there is a method to get past that but even that only worked out for some....
i could search the forums for ya, but im in office an cant do so now....
just keep on searching in the forums...ull surely find the solution....
also, this is what ive read only in some forums that people pay around $25 to get their cell phones unlocked by giving their IMEI number or sumthng of that sort......am not from the USA so really have no clue about it.....

Follow the One-Click Unlock guide

One way the unlock code could have gone missing is if the owner of the Captivate flashed to the leaked Froyo build and back to stock. As it is a leaked build it couldn't have been automatic afaik.
mine is a JH7 phone and i got the unlock code =D. at first i couldnt find it by the PC method. it wouldnt work. it gave me an error sagint the nv_file.bin wasnt there. and i searched for it and it wasnt. i thought i was screwed so factory reset, then i rooted my phone, enable sideloading using unleash the beast. After all that, i went to android market and search for "froyo" and supprisingly i found a unlocker that worked. (looks like a padlock perhaps 5th in the list) i installed it and ran it, IT FOUND IT!!! was so happy since im not even in USA and i can use it on any provider =D

I don't think it will get a signal on Tmo's 3G system, so why would you want to use it on Tmo's edge anyways?

You are correct. T-Mo's 3G frequency is different from AT&T's. T-Mo uses the 1700/2100Mhz range for their 3G while AT&T uses the 850/1900Mhz range. The only frequency range the companies share is the 900Mhz band which is 2G

I honestly do not know if you need the SIM card or not to access the market which will allow you to get the "Galaxy S Unlock" app. I have tried the "Galaxy S Unlock" app before but I could never get it working (with stock FW and Stock FW + Root). Im pretty sure that you cannot use that app once you update from Stock FW to Stock FW + JH7 (the original "GPS fix" back in Sept). However, the way I got my unlock code was the following steps:
1) Go back to complete stock FW using the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
2) Root the device using the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739304&highlight=click+root
3) Get your unlock code using the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=761751
This may be the long method but this is the only way I have ever gotten my unlock code. But then again, once I got my unlock code, I never tried to get it again. The above steps that I took did not require a AT&T sim card at all.
I hope that helps.

you could use ( one click unlock ) not very hard two do,just save efs files then click unlock, one thing though if u are on froyo 2.1 click the the froyo 2.1 option or 2.2 if you on 2.2 froyo, but i think you need root to use this program (mite be wrong)
anyway good luck
it depends on the model of the galaxy s. In most cases, you will need to root the phone.
Help Pls
I had successfully unlocked my galaxy s using the procedure suggested on the related XDA forum.. the phone worked fine with a different network later on i accidently clicked the factory reset option.. now although the phone says its unlocked but i cannot see any network signal and the phone does not work on any sim card.
Pls can someone help
PS: I can switch on the phone and perform all other functions.
Try the one click unlock app thingy again, see how that pans out.
Also try this:
Go into settings > network and coonections > mobile networks > and manually choose your provider.
Mine is locked to my network also, but I'm now running Gingerbread. Any way I can get an unlock?
so heres what i did, i got a stock captivate, used odin to flash rom to galaxy i 9000 and its really buggy. i wish to flash back to stock rom and update to froyo then unlock it so i can use it on t-mobile. when i say really buggy i mean i cant get anything but G network maybe E if im in the middle of portland or salem, but always have full receptoin. now can anyone help me fix this so i can use it with t-mobile? if not then i would like to flash it to another rom but, it wont go into download mode since i dont have a home button to use. should i get a jig and do all that other stuff ive got to do or is there another way? can anyone point me into the right directoin. either post they know of or from experience. i would greatly appreciate it ive spent a few days searching and havent found much info thats helped.
Oh wow... First of all, flashing a i9000 ROM is really NOT GOOD. i9000 ROMs are for the i9000 phones, not the i897 (Captivate). As far as unlocking goes, I hope you haven't screwed up your IMEI (and such) data on your phone somehow while flashing different ROMs onto your phone. Unlocking can be done on both 2.1 and 2.2, but you will need the unlocking codes from AT&T themselves (easiest way).
For the download mode, if you can't get into the download mode via ADB... I would definitely try a USB Jig. Try the alternate key combos to try and get into download mode as well.
Owch. This is what happens when you don't read before you do things.
Hopefully you can get yourself into Download Mode so you can flash via Odin back to the stock ROM.
you do realize that by unlocking it and putting it on TMobile you will not get ANY 3g?

well i was fallowing advice from an idiot and a few other idiots who backed the info and was happy with what it had done with their phone. little did i know till a little bit ago is that it was for germany not usa. ok so i need to do some research on adb. now since i want to use this phone for t-mobile and do get into download mode should i flash to captivate stock then update to froyo then unlock or just flash to vibrant? im not going to be using this phone for calls or internet browsing unless on wifi and using skype. its only going to be used for texting and games and video and pics and all the other wonderful options this phone has. t-mobile has a pre paid texting only plan thats only $15 a month. and everywhere i go has free wifi, if not ive got my own way of getting wifi if ive got my laptop for ad-hoc with braodband card.
do i need to change anything with the phone if i just plan on using t-mobile???? cause it is considered a global phone or whatever and not locked cause it shows i have t-mobile or att or sprint network to choose from as before the flash it only showed att. or should i just fix this one and flash it all back to stock and sell it to buy a new used phone lol
thank you for your help and advice/ its greatly appreciated
just flash back to stock 2.1...unlock it and u can flash any awesome rom.most save your imei and nvdata...i was on darky 8,1 and used t mobile, even used all carriers in india
to get to dl mode use adb or jig....never flash i9000 roms directly, if u want, u can flash i9000 based custom roms we have in dev section..
