[Q] Firmware Version???? - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got kies mini to recognize my phone. Did the update in ran the firmware info check through sgs toolbox showed
Version
PDA: I897UCJH7
Phone: I897UCJH7
CSC: I879ATTJF6
if my phone updated the firmware correctly shouldn't it read JH7 on the csc?
also what is the csc firmware version responsible for? thanks

CSC is for Carrier Customizations. And no, that would be the current stock files.

Thank you. So the csc above is correct after the jh7 update correct?

[Q] Downgrade from 2.3.3 to Official 2.2.1

Hello there, my phone is an European factory unlocked, unrooted that i have upgraded to I9000XXJVK some weeks ago.
I'd like to know if it's possible to downgrade back to an official 2.2.1 so i can start again updating from Kies. I'd also like to know which Android ROM is official because there seems to be plenty of them.
All Android roms are official use the latest one for your phone .
All Android roms are stock Samsung roms not the branded rom that came with your phone .So no upgrade from Kies as Kies only reads branded phones id .

#How to use the search button and read the post downgrading 2.2 to 2.2
Kies upgrade fom 2.2 will require spoofing fw .

What do you mean with branded? I bought my phone from Samsung and not from an Operator
In which case downgrade current firmware to one below the latest one for your phone on Kies . Then try Kies if it fails its due to your Product Code changing with the JVK flash . You may need to use spoof fw to change product code .

Branded as in Kies upgrades network branded phones by a matching product code if you have changed firmware via Odin codes may be incorrect .

Hi there
I actually did this today (as I want to await the official release on Kies).
Best bet is to use Odin to get to JPU: http://hotfile.com/dl/99955459/dea6962/I9000XXJPU.rar.html (this is a 3 file ROM - I used repartition).
Then use Odin to get to JPY (the latest official UK release): http://hotfile.com/dl/100618077/49a97b4/I9000XXJPY.rar.html (this is a single file - no repartition).
This got me back to 2.2.1 so I can continue to use Kies for future releases. You might also want to check your CSC is correct using *#272*YourIMEI#
Hope this helps.
James
In order to get back to 2.2.1 you have to Spoof a old 2.2.1 or a 2.1 firmware. To get Europe 2.2.1 you can spoof

[Q] Stock Rom N7000XEUKK3

Hi,
I'm sorry for making a new post as I couldn't find the answer anywhere else!
My phone came with the following Rom: N7000XEUKK3
I rooted it now I'm trying to unroot it but the stock room N7000XEUKK3 is nowhere to be found. Can anyone help me by giving me a link or to the relevant post?
I have already tried: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
PDA: N7000XXLA6
PHONE: N7000XXLA4
CSC: N7000XEULA1
May I ask why you want to unroot it?
If you really insist on unrooting it. Just flash the correct firmware with Odin and it will be unrooted.
Use the one for you CSC.

The original KKA/KK5/KK3(XEU) ROM doesn't seem to be available for whatever reason but an OTA update to that ROM has been released by Samsung and that's the LA6/LA4/LA1(XEU) version you've found.
If you use ODIN to install the LA6 ROM you should end up with a phone that is identical to if you were on KK3 and then applied the official OTA.

[Q] GT-N7000 Fails to upgrade with various CSC

Have a Unlocked GT-N7000 running on GB 2.3.6 firmware PDA:KK2 /PHONE:KK1 / CSC: KK2(VNO) from the CSC VNO is for Venezuela and for Chile as well not sure which one am on. Also has TTT and TDC as available CSC TTT (Trinidad and Tobago) has already received ICS, however changing the CSC doesnt work. Kies fails to detect device while changed to TTT or TDC hence cannot update via Kies. Wonder if its ok to flash to stock ICS for VNO if its available havent found any on the forum.

[Q] Change CSC XEF on GT-N7000

Hi,
I use a Galaxy Note GT-N7000 from 2011 until now. I never root, and not touch any other aspect of the device. I receive only the official firmware update and now have the ICS 4.0.4 as last version.
The info of the device is:
CSC: XEF
Baseband: N7000XXLRB
Build: IMM76D.XXLRI
My question is: if I change with *#272...... the XEF code to OXA, for example, this mean that after reboot I can get the OTA or KIES update to 4.1.2? I only like update my device to 4.1.2 without root or any other complicated procedure.
Thanks in advance!

if you change your csc to another country it will not give you update for that country. also if you change your csc it will factory reset your phone. You can always install latest 4.1.2 by flashing philz kernel first (it will automatically root your phone) do the wipes on philz kernel and then put the phone in download mode and flash the stock 4.1.2. After flashing you will have stock rom of your choice with stock kernel and no root.

for download stock rom and procedure:
