[Q] Change CSC XEF on GT-N7000 - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I use a Galaxy Note GT-N7000 from 2011 until now. I never root, and not touch any other aspect of the device. I receive only the official firmware update and now have the ICS 4.0.4 as last version.
The info of the device is:
CSC: XEF
Baseband: N7000XXLRB
Build: IMM76D.XXLRI
My question is: if I change with *#272...... the XEF code to OXA, for example, this mean that after reboot I can get the OTA or KIES update to 4.1.2? I only like update my device to 4.1.2 without root or any other complicated procedure.
Thanks in advance!

if you change your csc to another country it will not give you update for that country. also if you change your csc it will factory reset your phone. You can always install latest 4.1.2 by flashing philz kernel first (it will automatically root your phone) do the wipes on philz kernel and then put the phone in download mode and flash the stock 4.1.2. After flashing you will have stock rom of your choice with stock kernel and no root.

[Q] Firmware Version????

I just got kies mini to recognize my phone. Did the update in ran the firmware info check through sgs toolbox showed
Version
PDA: I897UCJH7
Phone: I897UCJH7
CSC: I879ATTJF6
if my phone updated the firmware correctly shouldn't it read JH7 on the csc?
also what is the csc firmware version responsible for? thanks
CSC is for Carrier Customizations. And no, that would be the current stock files.
Thank you. So the csc above is correct after the jh7 update correct?

Trying to get back to stock

trying to get back to stock so I followed this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13181515&postcount=1
and succesfully got the stock GB from KIES.
but the region is wrong. I'm from Slovenia but it installed the Philipines CSC XTC version and thus don't have the correct locale settings.
How can I get the correct firmware for using it wth CSC: MOT?
KIES has this info:
PDA:JPI/PHONE:JPE/CSS:JPH (XTC)

Hmmm , you might want to look for the GB Stock safe v5 from the OverCome Team in the Dev-section…

[Q] Appropriate CSC and ROM for Saudi Arabia

Hi,
Can anyone confirm the appropriate CSC and ROM for Galaxy Note in Saudi Arabia?
Actually I am having problem with updating my note with Kies (my phone is not upgradeable through Kies). I hope this is due to mismatching CSC and ROM and I think changing CSC might help but I am unaware of appropriate CSC and ROM details for Saudi Arabia.
Following is the phone, pda, and CSC info for my note.
PDA: N7000JPLA1
PHONE: N7000XXLA4
CSC: N7000JPLA1
Build Info: Tue Jan 17 00:51:31 KST 2012
Please note that I have an unrooted phone and the firmware was recently changed by the Samsung (I sent my phone for warranty for screen related issues).
Thanks in advance.
For the whole middle east region the current version is stil JPLA1...
it will take some time before you will get any update as typically the middle east region will be among the last to be updated...
so if you need a newer version...if you dont root and still need arabic reading/writing capability..i"am afraid there is nothing much you can do. If you are rooted than you can always flash a newer official firmware and apply RTL patch to correct the issue.
The choice is always yours.

I tried XSG code as CSC and now it is working fine with Kies.
Since I have LA1 rom it is not easy to root it. I will root it once I receive official ICS update.

[Q] Stock Rom N7000XEUKK3

Hi,
I'm sorry for making a new post as I couldn't find the answer anywhere else!
My phone came with the following Rom: N7000XEUKK3
I rooted it now I'm trying to unroot it but the stock room N7000XEUKK3 is nowhere to be found. Can anyone help me by giving me a link or to the relevant post?
I have already tried: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
PDA: N7000XXLA6
PHONE: N7000XXLA4
CSC: N7000XEULA1
May I ask why you want to unroot it?
If you really insist on unrooting it. Just flash the correct firmware with Odin and it will be unrooted.
Use the one for you CSC.

The original KKA/KK5/KK3(XEU) ROM doesn't seem to be available for whatever reason but an OTA update to that ROM has been released by Samsung and that's the LA6/LA4/LA1(XEU) version you've found.
If you use ODIN to install the LA6 ROM you should end up with a phone that is identical to if you were on KK3 and then applied the official OTA.
