[Q] lost adhoc when updated to 1.1 - Nook Color General

I did the update to put my rooted 1.01 to 1.1 everything worked great did not lose a single setting. Kept my root access. The only thing that i lost was the ability for the NC to see Adhoc Networks. I need this so I can do WIFI tethering with my droid 1. Is there a way to regain the ability for the NC to see Adhoc networks?
I could try and do the Adhoc hack again but I am not sure if it will works since they changed the wifi with 1.1
I would have posted this in the dev section where the instructions for updating from rooted 1.01 to 1.1 are (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932145&page=9) but I can't post there since I have not made 10 posts yet.
I do A hell of a lot of reading and very little posting. In fact that is a sign of a awesome forum when you don't have to ask questions because all the info is there, all you have to do is read.
I guess the bad part about that is that since I do not post I will never be able to post in the dev section.
Keep up the great work all!!!
Mark

Update!
I redid the proceedure I did before to enable the NC to see Adhoc Networks and it works Again.
This is the only issue I had with doing the update from rooted 1.01 to Rooted 1.1.
Now everything is as it was before with all the added features of 1.1
AWESOME!..

I had the same problems when I updated to 1.1.0. Used Cicada's instructions in the link above and it worked perfectly.

1) If it is rooted yes, I suggest Manup's or JAC's eclair
2) No, Multitouch requires a compatible kernel and an app that supports it. If you want it I don't think any eclair rims have it right now so I would go with cyanogen's 1.6
3) No there is not, there is also no way to put more rom
4) No, not everything will work. Some problems are camera and highquality Youtube/videos/3d games. To find all broken things you may look at the first post and find either the "broken" section or the "not working" section

Right now you should stick to a 1.6 ROM until 2.0 is stable. You can upgrade once its stable or you get enough experience to use it as it is now

can i install this over greyblur?
and this would remove root priv? anyone tried rooting post install??
Not working
Just tried to update my atrix 3 times with no luck. Anyone else have issues updating a rooted, unlocked phone?
Now we need someone to pull the modem only from this.
Sent from my Blue Myst GladiAtrix on Bell using the XDA Premium App.
I've tried the update 3 times as well. No luck. It seems to hang about 20% through the unpacking.
I'm rooted, have the telstra modem and did the webtop via hdmi. Any ideas on how to move to the update?

Ya..I tried this update yesterday OTA and had the same issues (I'm rooted and unlocked with webtop hack)..after about 20% I get the exclamation mark in the triangle telling me its failed. I was hoping to log on this morning and find the sbf ready to upload
I have the french SBF installed and greyblur/root. - I havent tried it, I doubt it will work on the french SBF. I really didn't realize how screwed we bell guys are without a factory SBF to work with. I feel like we get shafted out of all countries that got the atrix.
I just got my battery life issues sorted out, So even if i were able to try it, I wouldn't want to, But maybe there are useful fixes in it for the developers. We are getting custom roms for the ATT phones. Hopefully bell and international are soon.
I saw a post on motorola's forums from a guy who has a bell atrix that wants them to post a factory sbf for us so that we are "on par" with other countries around the world. i agree.
Should we stay on 2.1.1 and wait to flash the modem only or is this version better than 2.1.1
I hAve a bell atrix..
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
I am/was rooted and I was able to do the update. Just a bunch of fixes in it I guess. No major changes except for the faster upload. That's nice
You will have to re-root after installing it though. Gingerbreak works fine.
i installed the french sbf to get grey blur going so i'm guessing update won't work...

I'd like to know this as well.
I'm thinking of at least flashing the new radio after work today though. People seem to say it's better than the one shipped with 2.1.1. I'll keep checking these threads though to wait for more comments.
Thanks for sharing your comments and experiences, guys. It's always very much appreciated.
I Didn't say it wont work for the french SBF, I just haven't tried.
I'm at work right now and can't have my phone go down at all, or i'll get fired. Which is why im not just jumping in and testing it.
Can someone confirm if it works or not with the Telstra SBF? I'm not on stock sbf, im greyblurred. If it does work, i'll re-sbf this thing to 2.1.1, and run the bell update.
I think my issue is that i'm rooted/greyblurred. So unless is flash sbf, and then try, i doubt it will work here.
I tried to run this over the French SBF, but was unable to.

I took the Bell 37.23 update this morning.
My root was gone (I had originally rooted using GladRoot 4.3) and there was no longer any /osh/sbin/frozenfish.
I re-rooted my 37.23 using Gingerbreak 1.20 and it worked perfectly.
EDIT: just ran Speedtest.net mobile in downtown Montreal (great reception quality) and got 5737 kbps down and 2335 kbps up
Can I run the update even if i have froze all the bloatware? And will I have to re-freeze them after the update? ΒΈ
I am kinda new to android but have a good experience in modding other mobile os (webos, wm5).
Thank you
quick question
i have french sbf
can i restore stock bell sbf to get this update
if yes where can i get stock bell sbf

Support (ROM, root) for Samsung Galaxy S Wifi 4.0 (YP-G1)?

Has anybody started working on the SGS Wifi 4.0 (Galaxy Player, YP-G1)?
How similar is it to some of the other SGS models (if any, except in name)?
I will attempt to apply known non-flash root methods, and report back, but if anybody already tried this, that would be great.
In particular, getting Gingerbread onto the device (comes with 2.2) would be great.
Also very interested in this upgrade possibility.
Think a couple of apps are no longer "supported" on 2.2.2 Froyo.
Anyone here can knows something about this?
Thanks.
The yp-g1 got a late launch and people simply don't have it at the moment. Someone said that when it gets released in the US, people will start developing it. let's see.

To root for Froyo use superoneclick latest version for Gingerbread use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582
I have seen confirmation in another thread. But post here when you have success.
I had success. Go get Samsung Kies drivers, then head to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682a download, superoneclick 2.2, extract, run as admin, and be patient, this process takes a while. It does 40 second sleep breaks no lie, it appears unresponsive but it's working. Good luck
how about support TVout (as SGS) on YP-G1?
Sorry, for my English

Roms and cernels for yp-g1
I found a thread with maybe all the roms and cernels available on xda. Check it out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457
---------- Post added at 11:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:25 PM ----------
And I don't recommend upgrading to 2.3.5 with kies for the international version. I had an issue with the headphone jack. That's because the update is only for usa and (korean) version for now.
Great rom for the samsung galaxy player/s wifi 4.0. Makes your phone super fast. check it out. Here's a link to see if it will work for you. And one small issue, the home button is not working, but as far as I undrestood, there a way to fix it.
---------- Post added at 10:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:26 AM ----------
And one more thing. The device ID will be GT-I9000. A lot more available apps for your device
Galaxy mediaplayer bricked
Hi anyone,
I have "successfully" bricked my Samsung Galaxy S Mediaplayer WiFi 4.0, Model YP-G1CW/XEG (Europe Version) during an rooting attempt.
Has anyone a good idea to at least get it into the original status ?
There's no sign of live on the screen, hovever Odin is recognizing the Galaxy and I can start flashing, of course with an error message.

Hello xsenman,
you saved my life and the life of my galaxy WiFi 4.0 Mediaplayer !! Thank you for your link to the right page.
My Galaxy is now running an English/Korean version of 2.3.6 Android. The other international (Europe) version didn't work. The touchscreen made troubles.
With this version I am very satisfied. Thanks again.

[Q] Help: I need to restore a DS7 - Wifi Only

I upgraded to HoneyStreak and decided to go back to stock. I followed the writeup here and was able to get it back. The only problem is that now I am on the T-mobile version, not the wifi only version. How do I fix this? Where can I find the stock roms for the WIFI only?
Never mind
doing more research I found this post. I don't know if it works yet since it will take 1.5 hours to download the required files. Thanks anyway.
Let us know if it does!
It does work. I'be used it before.

Wifi not working on EnergyROM 3.5

Hi everybody,
Sorry I would post a reply in the actual thread here but they said I need at least 10 posts to post there, and I'm not an active poster though I do use the forums a lot to clear up my doubts. I've tried searching for this problem elsewhere but there is only so much I can gather from browsing forums.. Any help is appreciated!
I just installed the newest version of EnergyROM (4th July) and my Wifi in my power settings shows "Error". I used the 21st Feb version of EnergyROM previously before flashing "Nik_IncredibleS_TriNiTy_SensationXL V 5.0 Final". Wifi was working without any issues on both but when I installed the new one it showed an Error..
I found a solution but it was for the Amaze 4G and I couldn't find an equivalent solution, so I'd appreciate if someone can help me as I have a limited data plan and use wifi at my workplace and when I'm home.
Thank you

I tried installing a new kernel, 2.6.35.14-UNITY-V10-gf17016b.zip but apparently it's the same version yet it was supposed to fix the wifi problem.. Any help please?
am guessing you've flashed the wrong kernel and/or not done it correctly.
do a clean wipe, install energy rom, download the kernel as suggested in the energy rom thread & flash it..
should work..
i don't think this is necessary but you can also try an app called wi-fi fix (or wifix or something like that)
thanks!

I've actually tried flashing the ROM again but it didn't work; and for my kernel that I flashed, I found that I was actually flashing the same kernel that came together with the ROM..
I've tried several Wifi Fix apps but none has worked.. Attached is a screenshot of the Error.
