can you run these simultaneously?
Yes, hardcore's speedmod kernel works with any 2.2 / 2.2.1 rom, make sure to charge fully before flashing

I am running SpeedMod K12r – 500hz (SpeedMod installed by Odin) with Cog 3.04 and a JL3 modem. The SpeedMod info does not show up in the Kernel Version of about phone. Recovery is ClockWorkMod Recovery v2.5.1.0 SpeedMod ULFK. The phone also has the Galaxy S SpeedMod startup screen.
Does SpeedMod not being listed Kernel Version mean that SpeedMod is not the kernel running on the phone even though all the above indicates it is?
Cog does not show the kernel correctly in about phone.

Currently on Voodoo 5.4.1 STABLE for 2.2.1,

Can I flash a speedmod kernel over this as long as I disable lagfix?
Also will I lose Kies connectivity if I flash Speedmod?
Cheers,

You could flash without disabling lagfix tbh. Kies should still work too.
Hey all,
I'm going between roms now and decided to try Darky 9.3; i flashed back to stock using Odin and then installed hardcore using Odin. My phone has been sitting at the galaxy s screen for 10min now. any suggestions? I know when i installed Cognition it normally took alittle while to convert the file system.
Thanks
You installed a 2.2.1 kernel over stock? Or did you flash a rom with hardcores kernel? If you were in stock I think that is your problem
Odin back to stock. Start over. Flash froyo rom with lag fix enabled by default. Then darkeys

sorry should have been more specific, i flashed back to 2.1, and tried to follow the steps to install speedmod at darky's website
Pull battery, 3button into download mode. Re-Odin to stock. Boot up the stock ROM to make sure it is working.
Install clockwork recovery. Then, flash a 2.2 ROM, and boot it up. After it boots up, you can go back into recovery and flash Hardcore's Speedmod Kernel. As mcord said, you can't flash a Froyo kernel on an Eclair ROM.
I use speedmod with darkyys as well. It works great. I just followed the steps on the darkyy thread here at xda. I always backup and go back to stock no matter what. i just want to be safe. Then i odin to Darkyy 9.2 and proceed to flash via the clockwork recovery installed with 9.2 the new kernal(speedmod) and modem(JK4). Then use the darkyy configurator to install the 9.3. I think because you tried to install the speedmod kernal on top of the 2.1 base it doesn't work that is why you are getting stuck. Here is the link to Darkyy's thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942046
I think you neglected. To click off autoboot. If you flashed the kernel then entered recovery without letting it boot you would of been fine

Paragon RC6 and 1400 kernel w/ voltage control app
Noob here:
I can run the default 1200 and 1300 kernel no problem. I overclock and undervolt without issue. However, when I flash 1344 and 1400 kernels, the VCA force closes every time. Any thoughts out there?
EDIT : Just checked and found Speedmod tweaks in recovery. Assuming this means it has installed successfully? Does anyone know why it won't update the kernel info in about phone?
EDIT : Just switched to Suckerpunch so I can OC but again, no confirmation of the kernel being updated in the about phone settings page. I can see the new boot image but I'm worried that if it didn't properly install the kernel it won't be safe to OC.
Searched and couldn't find anything related.
Just installed Speedmod through CWM and although it changed the boot screen at startup it did not change the kernel # in about phone.
- SpeedMod K13C with HZ=500 CWM
Tried installing with Odin after and same problem.
- SpeedMod K13C with HZ=500
Yes btw I am a noob.
Running Cognition 4.1.1 (2.2)
Is there another way to check? I'm running Quadrant Standard to benchmark, before I ran the install I had a benchmark of 1484, after the install it went down to 1323 (worse). And I was expecting speedmod to bring it up to around 2000+ so I'm convinced it has not installed correctly.
Did not get any error notifications in CWM or in Odin.
Hi All,
Reason for this question is that, first of all I wanted to root my newly bought SGS GT-I9000 (2.2 DDJP6) So, flashed speedmod kernel K13E (latest). Later, when I wanted to install MIUI rom, as per the instruction one need to flash K13C kernel.
But, whenever I try to flash SM - K13C kernel on top of K13E, I tend to soft-brick my phone (BSOD). I need to once again flash K13E to get back my SGS to work.
So, in order for me to get on to MIUI rom, I have two options...
1) Downgrade K13E to K13C kernel. And continue to flash MIUI rom.
2) Restore my kernel to stock kernel first. Then start flashing K13C and continue to flash MIUI rom.
Can somebody please suggest, which option would be best and highly feasible?
Thanks in advance for the responses
Prabhu.
i dont think it matters what version of speedmod you are on, its only so you have CWM to flash the cyanogen kernel.
but anyway if you want to downgrade just download the one you need k13c and flash it thru CWM or ODIN and it will overwrite your previous kernel
I did try to flash K13C on top of K13E. Odin just froze at <ID:0/022> zImage step.
Please find the snapshot attached.
how long has it been like that. ?? try to find a CWM version and see if that works.
or just flash miui with your current kernel
If u want to get on miui, follow the guide on theandroidsoul.com/net.....good to have a clean start with ezbase2.0

I tried the CMW version of speedmod k13c and was successful. But, while flashing the cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar from odin again, I got stuck in the below attached odin screen.
Is there any CWM version for the cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar? What is that I am doing different?
