Hi there,
I bought a Rogers Captivate to use on Fido. The first thing I did (before putting my SIM card in) was root the device using SuperOneClick. This worked fine. Then I put my Fido SIM card in and booted the phone up. I was able to make calls when I expected to be prompted for an unlock code. I had attempted to run the "unlock" command from SuperOneClick, but it told me the process failed. Is this normal behavior?
Thanks!
FK
Rogers and Fido are the same company.
The phones are usable between the two networks without an unlock code.
Its when you go to bell, telus etc that you need to unlock.
Super one click will not work to unlock our Canadian phones, so your phone is still locked.

When i try rooting, it says verification error.
use the superoneclick rooting app on the DEV section of the forum

I am on AT&T and when I put the Roger’s sim card in, I could not unlock the phone from the lock screen. After I followed the directions to unlock the phone, The SIM card from Rogers could be used but I get “SIM not provisioned MM #2”. Has the phone been unlocked correctly?
This is my first android phone and I would like to have the phone unlocked to use a Roger's SIM card in case Rogers receives updates before AT&T, that I may update the phone. I know I could root the phone, but I have never done that and I bad at following directions. I checked software updates and the phone did not find any updates with the Roger's SIM card.
I believe updates are based on your CID and have nothing to do with what SIM card your using.

The first part, just means that your SIM has been deactivated, or hasn't been activated for use yet. And I believe the phone has been unlocked correctly if it recognizes Both Sims.
Updates are tied to your handsets CID, so unlocking will not allow you to get updates from other sources/networks. You'll still have to wait for AT&T to release your update/s.
In an attempt to use my locked AT&T HTC One phone on my T-mobile service I used the Cyanogenmod Installer to root my HTC one and hope to use it on the T-mobile network; I also unlocked the bootloader via HTC website. The newest Cyanogenmod is installed (11-20140417-NIGHTLY-m7) and wifi is working, etc. Unfortunately, no phone calls since it keeps asking for SIM Network unlock code (I bought an unlock code...not working). Any suggestions? What should I do? I did some research and I read something about using an RUU...is this a good solution? Thank you all!
Status of phone on bootloader screen is:
S-ON "TAMPERED"

No luck the phone they're referring to is the HTC Amaze it seems.
Does successfully installing Cyanogenmod "unlock" the network as well??

No, bootloader unlock and sim unlock are different things. You'll need to be on the stock rom to input your sim unlock code.

And that's what worked. Thanks!
Hello,
I (still) have the same problem here. I have a DHD that was locked and branded. I followed HTCDev's procedure to unlock the bootloader and installed a Cyanogenmod ROM (unofficial 10.1) two weeks ago that works great. I've been trying to get my phone unlocked for days with no luck ever since.
I've tried using the HTC unlock tool v. 0.9.5/4 and rooting the phone too. Nothing. Drivers are working fine; program executes as expected, but I still have a locked phone after it finishes. I got an unlock code that I enter after booting and I get a "successful network unlock" message, but the radio seems to remain off. I cannot place calls. Attempting to choose a network operator manually from the settings menu fails; I get a "mobile network unavailable" message when doing so (service providers list does not even appear). I've read threads saying that the only way to get around this is by reverting the phone to its original ROM and HBoot, but I've read elsewhere that workarounds on branded phones shipped with Gingerbread or Froyo (like mine used to run) fail and/or screw up the phone, so I have not tried that. Any ideas or pointers?
Thanks!
Hi all;
got my sim unlock code for the nexus 6. when i put in a non carrier sim and boot back up no menu comes up for me to enter the unlock code, just says no service, if i put the original carrier sim back in it works fine..any way to manually invoke the unlock code menu so i can enter it or any other tips..thanks in advance
I can't help with this but it may help others to say what carrier you're locked to..
Sorry..iT's locked to rogers in canada
Since the phone was already used on Rogers, perform a factory wipe to use a new carrier's SIM
My Rogers Nexus 6 came unlocked out of the box. I expect yours is as well. I have never heard of a locked Nexus device sold by a Canadian carrier.
Weird
..just says selected network (telus) what im trying to connect it to is unavailable. Factory reset at this point too
Hi everyone,
I've been using an SM-920T 64GB Galaxy S6 bought from T-Mobile last summer. I did a permanent unlock using the T-Mobile application and since July I've been using the phone on the AT&T network. I just rebooted my phone today like I always do and upon restarting I got an "Invalid SIM Card" and it brings up a SIM network unlock PIN window that I can dismiss or enter a code into. What is going on?
I'm running XtreStoLite Deo 2.4 if that makes any difference.
Also, does anyone have the T-Mobile Device Unlock apk that comes stock with the phone? This is how I unlocked the phone in the first place but I don't have that app anymore since I run a custom rom, and the play store won't let me download it because I don't have a t-mobile SIM card in the phone.
Thanks!
Well for the benefit of whoever has the same issue. I flashed back the stock ROM via ODIN, ran the T-Mobile Device Unlock app, it said Unlock Unsuccessful in big, but right below it said the phone has been unlocked permanently. I put in my AT&T SIM and it was working again. Then I flashed back my TWRP backup and the phone remained unlocked. The non-Tmo ROMs get the unlock popup when a foreign SIM card is inserted, so getting an unlock code should work, but I didn't want to wait 3 days to receive one.

Can you tell me what ROM you used? I have the g920T also, and bought it USED unlocked from ebay, but it had the FRP (factory reset protection) lock on it. I had my US cellular SIM card in it, even though I was stuck at the "enter your previous used google account on this device" and the SIM seemed to work (saw the LTE bars above).
But the only way for me to bypass the FRP was to flash to the ROM to stock (which I used the G920T tmobile ROM) and I got to the home screen but now it says "Invalid SIM card. Network locked SIM card inserted" just how you were saying.
When I try using the Tmobile unlock app, it says "Server not responding. Please try again later." .
Please help!
