[Q] Cannot flash back to Rogers froyo - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA!
I recently bought Samsung Captivate from Rogers with Eclair installed on it. It is my first android. I rooted it. I wanted to install froyo 2.2 on it and used Odin instead of just using the official upgrade with Kies (dumb me). Now I am stuck with AT&T froyo 2.2 which voids my warranty from Rogers. Kies would not recognize my phone. I would rather have Rogers official release of 2.2.
Is it possible to replace AT&T 2.2 with Rogers 2.2 (or at least Rogers 2.1, so I could upgrade through Kies)?
Thank you,
Elena.

Stock rogers 2.1 rom is here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TT4RYLDZ
You need to flash this with odin, and you will be back to stock.
As for the boot screen, there is a thread on here on how to change the image back to the I896 boot screen.

Thank you I will try this

Ok, I did flash it with Odin3 v1.30. I still got the AT&T boot screen for just a second, then the original I896 comes up and then I see rogers logo trying to start up, but nothing happens after. It turns off on its own.

maybe i need a pit file or something?

well if you followed instructions, just restore your original backup..
what? didnt follow instructions... well here you go...
if you are seeing the att boot logo you flashed i897 stock ROM
rogers is i896. the Att boot logo is part of the kernel.
heres what you need.

Flashing AT&T 2.2 to Rogers 2.2

I have flashed the phone from the Stock Rogers 2.1 to ATT 2.2
now that Rogers 2.2 is out, I want to switch back to it. However, the kies does not detect my phone. I didn't know if the touchwiz thing would have been a problem, so I stock flashed my phone again to ATT 2.2, but same thing, still not detectable.
anyone with an answer or in same boat?

There is a CWM flashable Rogers 2.2 somewhere in the forum.

flashing to stock, to re flash new ROM (Rogers)

i want to flash back to stock to install another ROM, i have the rogers captivate and was just planning to use the at&t odin one click, will my sim card still work? since its at&t version? thanks alot.
What are you running and why flash to stock
CM7
was running serendipity 5.12, and updated to 6.0, i didnt worry about my sim, just left it out and used wifi. up and running on 6.0 working good. although i like the swype theme better on 5.12 where would i place the apk from the older version to my phone?
first off DONT use the odin one click to stock. you will get the ATT bootscreen.
unless something isnt working you dont need to go to stock between roms.
read the rogers i896 wiki for stock rom information and how to CORRECTLY flash rogers stock. and fix the ATT boot logo if you already screwed yourself.

[Q] Flash to stock KB1 2.2 available?

It just occurred to me that I am on my third Captivate (returns due to connection problems with AT&T network). This third Captivate has a build of 1103 and came to me straight from a return center pre-loaded with the AT&T KB1 2.2 Froyo.
In the past I just used One-Click Flash To Stock 2.1 Eclair to get off of my rom experimentation along with formatting to wipe the data shown on the internal card.
This newest 1103 phone seems very stable but I need a backup plan to get back to KB1 2.2 if it fails on me again.
Has anyone seen anything about a flash to stock KB1? I have been searching for some time but can't find it.
Thank you all for your patience and help.
EDIT: Ha, ha!! I did a Google Search on it and found a thread with an ODIN KB1 flash to stock here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963403 It might be just a leak but might be good enough.

[Q] I9000 Logo on boot after ODIN

So I've been shopping around for a new ROM and was reverting to Rogers Stock 2.2 using ODIN from Mosaic VII so as to have a clean slate for the next ROM. I noticed, however, that on its first boot, my phone still displayed the I9000 logo despite having been (supposedly) returned to Rogers Stock 2.2
It's not a terribly big deal, but I'm curious to know what the cause of this is and how to fix it.
I9000 bootloaders.
Flash At&t bootloaders.
How exactly does one restore a bootloader to stock without catastrophic phone failure? I know having two bootloaders (initial and secondary) that don't match is basically an instant brick, so any advice would be helpful.

Need Tmobile 2.2 Factory rom

I have a SGH-T849 Tmobile Galaxy Tab, I stupidly tried to use Heimdall and a recovery zimage file from a old post about flashing clockwork mod recovery on my tab. Needless to say my tab is now stuck at Tmobile Screen. I have searched EVERYWHERE for a non dead link for a stock TMOBILE Froyo 2.2 factory rom. I can get into Download mode and Odin recognizes it. Samsung Kies does not connect. If anybody has the stock 2.2 Tmo rom, I would be forever greatful. I would flash other roms but I dont want to loose my 3G and it is also unlocked.
Thanks
Don't need stock rom.
