How come we have no mod/theme that does away with the clock top right?
Coming from a WM6.n platform, one of the mods was to remove the clock from the status bar, mainly because most ROMS had the time on the screen anyways, and most mods/themes I have seen on the DHD seem to be the same, great big clocks on the main screen, so no real reason to have it twice.
And removal could give more real estate for 'other' icons
Just a thought
Well I found the fix for it and now I am happy, no double up of clocks

Is it possible to adjust the size of the clock on the HTC home screen? I love the home screen but that clock sure takes up a lot of room. Just don't need the clock that big. Can someone come up with a fix or solution?
Maybe have a option in the home customizer??
Sorry, not possible. I feel the same way about it though.
I am surprise no one has come up with this yet!!
Dont forget if you make the clock smaller all the other tabs in it need to be reduced too, which means all the graphics have to be altered on each tab.
Alot of work me thinks...
MM
If you say so, I have no idea.
Anyway just a thought
Searched (here and google) but couldn't find an answer. If it has already been posted, I apologise.
I just got my HTC Hero and I'm adjusting quite well from the change from WM6 to Android (used to have the HTC Touch Pro, aka the Raphael I think) but I was wondering whether HTC sense on the Hero interface can be changed (e.g. clock, colours) or if there are skins available, like there were for WM. Just to be clear, I know there are loads of apps out there (OpenHome, aHome etc) to change the normal interface, but they all seem to be focused on the Hero without the Sense interface. I want the Sense interface, but would like to change the analogue clock, the colours etc.
Thanks in advance!
No you can't really do that at the moment.
But there are several widgets for clock, you can change the background and the lock screen. Or you can pu any widget that you want instead of HTC's
haven't seen those either, not for Sense anyway, do you maybe have links/names of those apps for me? would really appreciate it! thanks!
Photo Clock is a good one. It has about 10 different faces, including 2 or 3 where you can choose a photo or your own pic as the base background for the clock. Just type clock into the market... All clock widgets for android can be used "for sense" - you just dump the HTC Clock widget and load one from the Android Widgets section. That goes for all android widgets.
I'm assuming you know there are 13 different clocks on the HTC Clock widget for Hero?

No, I didn't know that, I've only had it a couple of days and did look around on the phone for ways to change it, but I don't seem to be able to find it (I realise I'm sounding like a complete noob now, but oh well). The Photo Clock app sounds good as well, will have a look at that if (after someone has been so kind as to help me locate the different styles for the standard app) I don't like them.
Thanks for helping me out with this!
edit: I just found it! power of posting I guess It was under HTC-widget and I'd only been looking under Android-widget...Now I think about it, not too smart...
So you're sorted? Its not that obvious tho I have to say, as the options for screen widgets only come up when you choose them, so unless you dump one then reapply, you don't see them.
On all HTC widgets there's a little number (1/12) at the bottom saying how many options for views there are for that widget - some have loads, others only 1.
Also check out the SCENES - I only just got round to seeing those - they are like template arrangements of screen widgets that you can switch to and fro between, and also gives the option to save different custom arrangements.
I have one with links to all my porn and a photoframe with naked men that I have to quickly turn off and swap for the business one with the classy blue world wallpaper in case the hubby sees.... (kidding...)
They look seriously useful but I've not had a full mess with them yet. It was VERY simple to pop back to my own eclectic Scene set up tho

Hey guys jus wondering if theres a way to disable the time on the top taskbar/notification area. Thanks
I know for a fact that it can be done in the older builds of WM6.5, But how do u do it on the newer builds
the behavior desired is already "done" in some builds/flavors of WM6.5.
i might be wrong but what i gather is that it is a certain mix of files concocted by the chef that causes the desired behavior to break. TPC and abusalza often used the SAME base build for WM6.5 in some of their recent ROMs and abusalza's ROM was usually well behaved regarding respecting the show clock in titlebar setting, while TPC's ROMs were almost always "broken" in this respect. i recall TPC himself claimed that he "has to have it this way" cuz something else important breaks if he lets the title bar clock setting have its way.
still, it may very well be a new intended behavior from M$ in the very newest of builds (which i haven't tried out first hand or even read about in detail yet). however, this is unlikely because M$'s DEFAULT CHome has a big clock panel on the today screen and it would be redundant to have the titlebar clock always showing, especially when on the home screen. it makes more sense to show battery in that position in the titlebar when on the home screen.
hope that helps in some way??!??
EDIT: or is your question actually about COMPLETELY removing the titlebar clock AS WELL AS the battery meter that mutually exclusively pops up in its place?
Thanx not to worry, its not possible to remove time in the taskbar on newer builds so im stuck wid it
Hello - I've searched far and low. It seems everyone except for myself love the huge clock. I hate it whether it flips or not. I don't even want a clock on my home page. Does anyone know of any app that can make this clock go away and give me more real estate on the home page?
Tried WAD2, but crashes too much. Infinity also crashes. Used SPB for about a year, but bored and hate the bottom icons.
Thanks for any direction...
Just swipe your finger up through the home screen, the flip clock will gone, replaced by a (much) smaller clock.
If you hate the bottom icons in Spb, you can try ShellExtension that can hide the bottom icons on the Spb, or the naong MobileSense that can replace the bottom bar with HTC Sense (in HTC Android devices, for example : HTC Hero), (HTC) Espresso, or Omnia
.
vtmorp i agree with you i flip the clock up i prefer the small one if only there is a setting to have it by default flipped up
flip clock
My old phone used sense 2.1 and the flip clock did flip up into a smaller clock. This one does not. Using sense 2.5 2012 so maybe that's it, but my last rom had sense 2.5 1911 and it also did not flip up into a smaller clock.
Oh well - back to spb with some tweaks. Thanks.
u can try use Maxmanila. It support the big clock, flip clock, digital clock, or no clock.
Many times if youre not satisfied with the big clock nor you wanna install a new clock by searching for cabs, why not revert to the Windows Default Screen??? Depending on what rom youre using....
Start/Settings/Today
Look for the Item tab, un-check HTC Sense or HTC Manila
Check Windows Default
And well.....heres a more simpler style too your phone, no more BIG CLOCK.
I guess just try different approachs......
You can use some of the tips/tricks/files in this thread (most will work on VGA phones) -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589227
try
checkout the cookiemonster home tab mod, if you swipe up twice you remover everything but a tiny clock at the top and you can see your background
Yay - no more clock!
Thanks Overjjrk! The cab worked like a charm - the awful clock is gone. It is definitely a preference matter - I just don't get why I have the time in the upper bar and then this HUGE ugly flip clock taking up all that real estate.
Hey intelligent guys here at XDA. I'm a huge fan of the epic lock screen. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to remove the clock from it? I don't like it because the font is way to big and bad looking. The other is I really don't think it needs to be there. I'm all about simplicity and having just the epic lock screen there would be fantastic. So here are some threads I found showing that it can be done. It's just for a different theme etc.
If you scroll down three or four posts on this thread you'll see where he has the epic lock screen with no clock but for that theme. I'm currently on the Nitro Honeycomb 4.0 theme and would like that epic lock screen with out the clock.
