Alright did anyone get the new Swype to work on DL30 froyo leak? Thats the only think missing to make me happy... I tried the old method but it didn't work....let us know if you find something!!!
i would also like to know, everytime i delete it from system/app, lib, data, ect. it magically comes back. and the uninstall button stays greyed out, so the beta installer wont work :/ idk if anyone has gotten it working yet.
I flashed DL30 and it has worked since I flash it.

I got it to work. Download the new version from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=867831
Using root explorer delete the swype.apk in system/app and delete libSwypecore.so from system/lib
Extract the apk and install it. (Just pasting it in system/app gave me fc).
I'm on DL30 clean v .7 and swype settings now say v. 2.15.56.14870.t100
Edit: Looks like the file is no longer in the post. If you can get your hands on the apk it should install.
I used the beta installer (will allow updates this way) rather than the actual apk and it works flawlessly.
1. Install the beta installer (from swype's website)
2. Change to Android keyboard
3. Use Root Explorer to go to /system/app
4. Delete Skype apk
5. Go to /system/lib and delete libswypecore.so
6. Reboot
7. Open Swype installer and it should now allow you to install the newest version.
Enjoy!

Just an FYI, a new version of Swype came out today (2.17.59.15552.t100) and if you don't install it using the method I wrote, you won't get the update. Swype requires that you have the Beta Installer installed. Also, I learned today after flashing Super Clean 0.8 that you don't need to reboot after you nuke the original Swype files (step 6 in my post)

You can't link Swype...sorry... but google "swype beta" and you'll be good
im having problems.
I deleted the two swype files, downloaded the installer, ran it and after it downloaded swype and asked to install it said that it was unsucessful. I'm running superclean 1.0...
EDIT:
Instead of deleting the files I re-named them to .old and that worked. Luckily I kept backups of each one of those files before I deleted them
Thanks! the 7 step procedure worked perfectly for me
The beta installer method worked for me but I prefer stock swype, seems more accurate.

Ok here goes.. This version of Swype is WAY more accurate that the stock version. It makes it SO much nicer to use.
Flash at your own risk. It worked ok in IRC last night, although some ppl did have problems flashing via CWM.
The Root Explorer method seems to be working for everybody.. so have at it, just make a backup first.
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!
I dont want to hear it when your Swype is borked and you cant get it back because you didnt do a backup, not my fault. You have been warned!
Instructions:
Step 1. Change your default keyboard to the stock android keyboard, or any keyboard other than Swype.
Step 2. Using Root Explorer, Delete Swype.apk from /system/app/ and libSwypecore.so from /system/lib/
Step 3. Pull Swype.apk from the .zip file in this post
Step 4. Copy Swype.apk into /system/app/ using Root Explorer
Step 5. Reboot
You can also try just deleting Swype.apk from /system/app and libSwypeCore.so from /system/lib/ and then flashing the zip file via CWM, but some have success that way, and some dont. Not sure why, but its about 60/40.
Works great for me, follow the instructions and let me know how it turns out for you

2. using root-explorer goto data/app and delete com.android.vending
3. using root explorer again goto data/data and delete the folder with the same name as the apk in data/app (thanks decelax for reminding me)
4. wipe cache & dalvik
5. reboot into recovery and flash this http://www.multiupload.com/DNB521IQ6N

one part you should maybe add to the OP is (also do post above), if your market version auto updated, you might need to do this:
After you delete the com.android.vending.apk (or similar name..) in your data/app folder, you should also go in to your data/data folder and delete the folder with the same name as the apk.

ahh. DO NOT delete the market updater folder or apk.
I think that's all you need deleted before you flash. But let mystery confirm it.
I might also double check that the "V" in your existing Vending.apk is capitalized. I've heard of that causing problems if it's lowercase.
FROYO ONLY

Hi folks,
With the recent port of WP7 to HD2 (credit to Cotulla, DFT, and other cooks), I know alot of HD2 users have tried it. I myself used it for about a couple of weeks, but I found that although it is great, it still was missing a couple of key features compared to android.
When I switched back, one of the thing that made me really regret was the keyboard.
After searching on XDA, I found this thread and figured it would easily work for us NAND users running Android.
It is a metamorph theme, but when I applied it, it didn't look right. The user who created the theme JAguirre1231 suggested that it didn't work correctly because the theme is suppose to be for the stock keyboard. This was a problem because I know alot of people prefer other CM, Sense or MIUI roms.
After doing some experimenting, I finally got it to work on the MIUI rom I'm using. The only thing is that this themed keyboard replaces the default and makes it the default. I'm not sure if you can add it, and keep the Sense keyboard or not.
*I DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PROBLEMS THAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOUR PHONE, DOING THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK* *ALSO REQUIRES ROOT*
NOTE: DON'T TRY TO INSTALL THE .APK DIRECTLY, IT HAS TO GO INTO THE SYSTEM OF YOUR PHONE
EDIT: FROYO ONLY(?)
Like I said, I have only tried this on the MIUI rom and I would advise you do backup or take precautions because this process involves editing the system files inside your phone.
Directions
----------------------------------------------------------------
1) You need Root Explorer (available in the marketplace) and the attached file

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) After you have Root Explorer, put the attached "LATINIME.apk" file on your sd card
3) Boot up your phone and open Root Explorer
4) Make sure the file is on your SD card
5) Next, navigate to /system/app/ and you should find a "LATINIME.apk" file in there too
6) Be sure you hit the top button so it says (MOUNT R/O)
7) Just to be safe, rename it to something else, and copy and paste it into your sd card (if anything goes wrong, just replace it with this file back to /system/app)
8) Delete the "LATINIME.apk" in /system/app and next copy and paste the attached one into /system/app
9) Exit and your new keyboard should be like the ones shown below
10) DONE!
Note that this is merely a skin for the keyboard, and all the other android settings are still the same. I also found it isn't as accurate as the real thing, but still better than the stock froyo.
This tutorial was made with the permission of JAguirre1231 and I just thought it would be easier if I share it.

Can you tell me which rom you are using?
And did you put the LATINIME.API into /system/app? If you don't have root explorer you can try ADB? Or if your rom already has the default froyo keyboard, just use metamorph skin from post #1.

Hm, I'm not sure if this works on gingerbread. I think it only works on the standard froyo keyboard.
If you want to take another stab, trying using the stock .apk from here, and if it works, just use metamorph to theme the keyboard.
Then again its up to you.

If normal installation didn't work out well for you, use the method below.
Procedure to install via Root Explorer Method
1. Download the apk file from the above link to your sd card.
2. Now using Root explorer, go to /system/app
3. Mount the system to r/w.
4. Now search for Vending.apk & rename it to Vending.apk1
5. Copy the file you just downloded to /system/app & rename it to Vending.apk
6. Now press & hold the app and select Permissions
7. Select only the options given below. Now REBOOT & enjoy.....
Alot of nice improvements. This is what 3.x should have always been!

Installed this last night from Androidpolice.com and it seems to work a lot better than previous versions of the new look Market, especially if you follow the steps posted here:

I think you need to replace Vending.apk. First you try to install like a normal application, if it doesn't then replace your Vending.apk (it might install as an update).
I just installed the apk from Dropbox and it worked perfectly.
You shouldn't need to replace in /system/app manually
