why cant we just install using astro or something like any other keyboard and turn it on and off in the input settings? why do we have to push and write over the stock one?

This is a V2 bug fix version. You dont want the stock version after using this trust me.

awesome!!!
this keyboard is great!!!!!

Worked great thanks, the only thing is that you have on your notes to flash the apk but that was not the way i got it to work, instead after moving the files from the zip like you said i also copied the apk file to system/apps rebooted then installed the apk file and it worked lik a charm, just an fyi.

The keyboard is awesome. Thanks for the instructions.

This worked for me also.........nice looking board

I cannot get this to work for the life of me. granted I'm trying to do adb from memory and I havent used it in forever.
adb shell
mount
adb push
that's the order right? I just cant get it to work for the life of me.
the explorer built into froSHEDyo won't let me copy/move files to system

okay, i finally downloaded super manager (great app btw) and got the two files into the app/lib folders
then i try to install that apk, and it wont install!
so now I don't have keyboard... luckily i still had an apk of that thumb keyboard so I'm using that for now.
I'm gonna go try that flashable .zip :/...

Flashable zip works couldn't get this method to work

[Q] Armani Font APK?

I have no clue how to pull things out of the source, or out of Cognition 3.02 for what I want. I'm looking for an APK for the Armani font. Anyone able to produce that or point me in the direction of where to download it? Thanks in advance!
Edit: apk removed
does this work on other phones like the streak?
ripped out the ttf files from the apk and they work like a charm on my dell streak... loving it.
I made a clockwork flashable ZIP so I could try this out on Serendipity; grabbed the fonts from dg's Cognition ROM, and they look great. Attached the ZIP if anybody wants it.

Weird; yeah, I got an installation aborted when I just tried to install it. I think it might be a bad upload...gonna try the version still on my computer. And maybe reupload the file.
Yeah, the ZIP on my computer got fudged up somewhere between my computer and XDA. Fixed it and tested it; installation via recovery should work fine now. ZIP is attached.
thanks for that, now Phoenix is a little more to my liking

Yeah, it just replaces the default font in the "system/fonts" folder, so any custom font APKs should still be usable.

Maybe I am blind but I cant see any difference...anyone has screenshot of how it looks?
I still use Times as I like it best but I want to see how this font looks like.
This is an APK I've had in my apps folder for quite sometime now. I don't remember where I got it or even if I made it my self, but it works like a charm. It appears as a new font in your font selection window so you can still use the default one if you don't like the Armani one. I like APKs way more than recovery .zips because you don't have to restart your phone to use them

There was a screenshot I posted a few pages up, but here's a comparison; stock Android on the left, Armani on the right:

[APP] EB01 Droid X Multi-Touch Keyboard

I found a Droid X keyboard that will work with our Froyo Fascinates and thought I would share it. This is the original work of Punk.Kaos to get it working for Froyo on the HTC Droid Eris. Here is the original link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764021
IT IS NOT MY WORK, I ONLY FOUND IT TO WORK WITH THE FASCINATE FROYO.
Make sure you follow the instructions. This zip is NOT flashable in CWM. You must adb push or manually move these files to the correct locations.
There are two files in the zip,
libjni_latinime.so to /system/lib
droidx-keyboard-kaosfix-v3.apk to /system/app/
*After you add the files to the correct location, you may find that you have to restart your phone if the keyboard does not show up immediately as Multi-Touch Keyboard in the Input Method List.

Did you try to do this? You do know also that this zip is NOT flashable in CWM!
There are two files in the zip,
push libjni_latinime.so to /system/lib
push droidx-keyboard-kaosfix-v3.apk to /system/app/
I always have hell with this. I used root explorer to move both of the files to their required place, rebooted and it didn't work. It never does :/ lol
hmm seems to be working ok. Thanks
Mine works using root explorer to push the 2 files per the instructions.

Were you able to get the black keyboard to work? I tried using the v4 flashable zip and now I have input.latin force closes..
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Does anyone like this over samsung keypad or android keyboard? Im not sure if this is better than the stock keyboard
No matter what I do it won't work..
I really like how nothing I do in root explorer will take effect at all..changing permissions, renaming files, moving them...nothing takes effect.

Well, not sure where to start...Did you unzip the files you downloaded to the root of your SD card? If so, after that take the file named droidx-keyboard-kaosfix-v3.apk and copy it to the directory /system/app (make sure R/W is enabled in Root Explorer) Next, take the file named libjni_latinime.so and paste it into the directory /system/lib. (It will ask if you want to overwrite the current one; say YES.) Finally, restart your phone and now the keyboard should show up in your Input Method Selection.
I loved the multitouch back in the 2.1 days. I did find a great gingerbread keyboard in the markplace which I like just as much. Search gingerbread keyboard.

I used root explorer to replace the files, then copied to my pc and repacked as a zip file, then copied back to phone and renamed apk with root explorer.
I also tried to ninja morph it but that didn't work.

or just use rom toolbox or TI to uninstall it. the site also states that you need to remove /system/lib/libswypecore.so

thanks forgot about the lib its been a while,
well you heard the man get crackin
Just installed it. Grab another keyboard before you try this. BO only has Swype. No other keyboards.
I uninstalled all Swype from system, then deleted anything else that said Swype from the app folder. Pushed the themed Swype to the phone with adb, then reboot. Then for some reason I had to go in with root explorer and physically install the Swype from the apps folder.
Crude and it downgraded my beta to the most recent, not the current version. The theme maker states that the latest version keeps fc'ing and won't take the themes. Oh well, I like it. Goes good with my lunar theme.
