Installing Applications from SD Card - Nook Color General

I have a Nook color, but my wifi isnt working on it for the moment, no worries.
I want to install applcations but from my SD Card, i have them all set up but do i need a special program to install them??
Thanks

anyone? help

I have pushed apps to the SD card & use Astro File Mgr to install.
Astro lets you "explore" the folders & when you locate the apk clicking on it will lead you to the option to install the app.
Cheers,
kev

Yeah you need a file manger program like ASTRO. That way you can access the file from the SD card. Once you're in the file manager, just click on the program .apk and then install

Thank you :d

How to install apps in memory card?

Ei, guys is there a way to install applications in the memory card instead of the main memory?. because in my xda atom i would be asked before installing an app whether to install in the main memory or in the memory card..
When the box pops up on your computer to install, it should say something like, Install to default location? Click no, then choose Memory Card from the drop down in the next box. It will install to memory card.
An alternate way is to copy the app folder from /Program Files/ to your memory card, then change the shortcut.
If you copy the install folder manually, don't forgett to change the direction in the registry keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apps\moved program!!!
Or you extract the CAB file from the program you wish (with WinZIP/WinRAR or find it in the installation directory on your desktop pc) and iinstall it on your XDA with CabInstall from SK Software!

Where are apps stored?

I'm running Cognition 2.2B7. I'm curious where can I turn apps2sd on or off? When I go under manage applications, it shows one app, Angry Birds, is installed on the SD card. Where on the SD card is this app stored? In root explorer I dont see any angry birds folder under /sdcard. I also have a real external SD card installed and dont see anything under /sdcard/external_sd.
Mostly just curious. Thanks!
Bump.
Nobody knows? or wants to answer?
it's in data/app (you'll need roots explorer and be root to access).
If you're not root than use Astro file manager.
Open Astro click on Settings button>Tools>Application Manager/Backup.
Back up what ever app you want, you can find those backup apps in
sdcard\backups\apps

SD Card Access

Hello. I have a HTC Hero with no phone service that I want to give my child for use as MP3 player, etc. I'm trying to figure out how to access the SD card to install a file manager and other apps.
Any assistance will be much appreciated.
When you plug it into usb, you should be able to drag down the notification menu and select mount as a usb drive.
oh yes of course. what i'm asking is seeing the contents of the sd card without it being plugged into the computer so i can install apps. i don't have a file manager on the phone. can the phone otherwise read the card?

Install ES Files Manager from the market, it'll let you browse the sd card.

the phone has no service. we're using it just as a mp3 player and hopefully to play games.

[Q] Access External SD Card WITHOUT ROOT

I tried to copy around 2GB of files from my internal Memory to the External SD Card and a dialogue box appeared saying I need to root and use SDcard Fix to be able to move files using the file manager[Solid Explorer]
Suddenly I regret buying this phone because why would I need to unlock bootloader and root just to be able to move files from Internal Memory to External sdcard?:crying:
I don't have such problem accessing (copy move delete) sd card. I'm using X-plore file manager
while some apps like Nexus otg file manager have problem copying files to sd card, don't know why
Try ES File Explorer. No problems here with no root.
