[Q] [REQ][APP] USB Audio Out toggle App - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Willing to pay donation for this little app.
Anyone interested in creating a simple app to toggle audio std out between 3.5mm jack/loud speaker/usb.
Im a dev but not much experience with android although I know this can be done based on my research.
Things I have come across,
Samsung desk home app can toggle between speaker and usb when docked and app running. even when app in background it still outputs other apps (poweramp) output to usb.
using android intents can catch docking/undocking events.
bluetooth does this too.
Basic operation required unless you have a better option.
dock i9000
automatically run this app
check this apps preferences
based on prefs output audio to jack/speaker/usb
automatically run app such as desk home, alarm clock plus, etc
add this app to ongoing section of notification pulldown to run prefs and allow to toggle audio output.
on undock reset audio out to as before docking and close other app etc desk home.
If anyone can do this im happy to talk dollars
Thanks in advance.

[APP][2.3+] App Volume

App Volume 2.0
Description:
Have you ever had to constantly change the volume of your android because you like listening to loud music during the day and low volume at night, or just want to play certain games with low volume and high-volume to other games, or watch videos on Youtube at a different level depending on the time of day?
With App Volume you can finally move on to the next level, this app will consider the hour and the volume used on each app, so will restore the right volume for each app you open next times.
--------------
Please note: App Volume acts on the MUSIC stream volume, this means that the volume of calls, notifications, messages and alarms will never be modified by this App.

Great app, I'm loving it! Although there is one thing I don't understand; How does the app decide when it's "night" and not, and how does it adjust the volume during that period? Or is it just that it remembers the volume differences from different times of the day? I'm working nights, and usually get off between 0200 and 0500 (2-5 am). For me night would be somewhere around 0400 to 1200 hours. So how does it work?
Nvm, I just read the changelog for 1.2.4 and it answered my question.

I'd like to be able to see and perhaps modify the volume levels and times this app has chosen to use for the other apps.
EIther way, awesome app, I've been searching for something like this for ages! Thank you!

Great, waiting for such an application for a long time, will this app able set batch volume settings (select multiple apps and set volume)? are these settings still works when I flash a ROM and restore this app+data from titanium backup?
This app will auto learn last volume used from every app at every hour. You can choose which apps to exclude from monitoring. Yes titanium backup will restore your settings.
Thanks for your comment

Still an awesome and essential app, and I'm glad I paid for it especially now that it's possible to set priority to background apps. But I can't figure out where to do that. I know you'll reply here, but you might wanna' consider updating the "How to" in the app as well. Tnx!

You're right, there's a bug for english version i'm going to fix it.
You will find all not ignored apps in menu \ App priority then choose an app and set new priority.
Thanks

Awesome fast update, I noticed it was live about 4 hours after my post. Great job!
Very useful stuff. Thanks.
good job, i've been looking for something like this on android.

[Q] Volume Reduction (Yes, reduction...)

Morning all,
probably not an issue with most people, but often I want to watch some videos, or the highlights in the gallery and I find that the lowest volume is at too high a level.
Is there anyway of overall reducing the system output level without root and/or custom rom? Would appreciate any thoughts to help out
Thanks
Jonny
Turning off beats reduces the volume.
try downloading the equalizer app or any setting app that has the capability of adjusting the volume.
Agreed, the lowest volume is too loud. Will try some EQ apps, Btw is there a toggle for beats audio?
Yes, the toggle is in the top level in the settings, as in not in a sub menu. I did try to disable beats but to my ears it didn't make any difference, or at least not enough.
I thought that equalisers were tied to a particular player app, rather than system wide, but will see if I can find any.

I wasn't talking about the equalizer option of any music player What I mean was the app "Equalizer" from google play

What apps do you have on YOUR pebble?

Just thought it'd be nice to have a place where everyone can share what apps they're using/ have used to help each other find some cool new stuff.
I currently have
PebbleDialer
Notification Center
Keep for pebble
And music boss.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I've had mine for a week now and the apps i have are:
Notification Center
PebbleTasker (Never really used Tasker before, but I guess now is the time to start)
Sleep as Android
RingMyPhone (gimmicky thing) - Guess this could be done with Tasker too..
Glance for pebble (with 3 tasker profiles) , Evernote, pebble dialer
The usual suspects (notification center, canvas and PebbleTasker) and agenda watchface and nav me. Works very well

The only problem I have with that is not being able to clear the notification from the phone with the watch
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
SmartWatch+ (GPS, Weather,Camera,Calendar, Notifications) - not free ($2 I think), my favorite so far
Tiny Bird (Flappy Bird clone)
Morpheusz (sleep monitoring)
Pebble Mars (Mars Rover images on watch face)
Motiv8Health (fitness/calorie counter)
- Glance (with custom Tasker Profiles, I created something similar to music boss so I can control volume and tracks from poweramp, and many other task)
- Notification Center
- Pebble Dialer
- Revolution Watchapp (biggest numbers)
- Pebble-Cal 2.0 (Dynamic Calendar)
- Evernote
- Stopwatch
- Multi timer
That's it. 8/8.
With these apps we can:
-Execute almost infinite number of Tasker tasks (including my favorites Launch Google Now and disable Notification Center manually before going to sleep)
-see all smartphone's notifications (excluding those you don't want)
-monthly and daily calendar
-Stopwatch
-timers
-notes, reminders, dynamic checklists (you can check/uncheck them from the watch, e.g. supermarket list)
-see and answer SMS (pre defined answers)
-see call logs and call any number or contact
-oh, and see what time is it, always synchronized with atomic servers (with clock sync on Android).
That's it for now.
Odd that there's no love for yelp. I love it on the Pebble. It's the only app I use aside from Music Boss but I use the stock pebble music app with it.
Nav Me - perfectly working navigation from Google maps
Utilities from Pebble Rocker - Android, Camera, Pager, Photos
BigBlack - Big clock with bluetooth alarm
Pebblets
Pebble Dialer
Music Boss
Spoon for Foursquare - Original Foursquare is somehow broken in Slovakia, Spoon has much better accuracy
PebbleApps - for weather, sms
8/8
pretty satisfied with these settings. I would like to use Yelp, but this is a no go in Slovakia right now.
I have following apps:
Sleep as Android
YWEATHER as default watchface
Modern minimal watchface
PebbleApps
Battery Lifetime watchface
Dotswithdate watchface
Evernote apps
Do you know/have some app like SmartWatch+ (only iOS), but for Android devices? I need to have custom HTTP request function, nothing more
thanks for info
Glance + Pebble Tasker should do the trick
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Pebble Tasker + Tasker should be enough. Not tested - I have to prepare the equipment for it thanks!
Where do you guys get your watch faces? I read above yweather but didn't see in playstore nor apps store, unless I missed it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I have found yweather on pebble app store. But you can have a look here: http://www.mypebblefaces.com ... tons of watchfaces
I only have 3 apps on my Pebble. The rest are watch faces.
Music Boss
Phone Ringer
Pebble Bike

One of the best apps I have is 7 minute workout. It provides vibration feedback when its time to switch activities and its a good quick workout. I do it every morning
Sent from my LG-D802T using xda app-developers app
I only have;
Notification Center
- like that you can clear notifications from the phone and vice versa (Android 4.3 and higher)
Sleep as Android (and paid for upgrades when I saw what it could do)
- much better than Morpheuz (in fairness appears to be much further along and the watchapp is a simple add-on to a well developed system, rather than vice versa)
Some Star trek-like watch faces that are okay looking and provide a bit more info.
I tried and deleted;
Motiv8
- a fitness watchface that tracks movement, guesses calories burned. seemed a little buggy and possibly interfered with other apps.
Glance
- didn't do enough and was buggy on the Pebble version/s I was running. Had issues with weather (and I only use official, localised weather sources anyway)

[APP][NST/G] USB one-touch toggles

5-16-21: Finally updated both apps to use custom on-screen dialog instead of stock alert boxes, ported from my Quick Tiles app (USB Audio 4.1 and USBHost only)
I've managed to find a combination of versions of Tasker and App Factory that run on my Nook Tablet and generate apps from Tasker tasks that will run on the Nook Simple Touch (Glowlight too, I assume).
Attached are stand-alone (no Tasker required!) app versions of the USB Audio and generic USB Host toggles. More skittish devices may not work with these, but you might want to give them a try anyway.
Root and SuperUser required. You also need a kernal that supports USB Host.
These apps--and all Tasker-generated apps--have a dependency on two library files normally installed with GApps. If you do not have GApps installed on your device, you can still use these apps by copying the two attached files into the locations shown below (the xml file is zipped so you can download it rather than view it):
/system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml
/system/framework/com.google.android.maps.jar
Set permissions for both files to rw-r--r-- and reboot.
New version 4 of USB Audio Toggle with onscreen volume controls
I have two USB-C audio devices. My original has no LEDs and no volume buttons. The second has both. I prefer the original (why waste battery power on LEDs?). That means I have sacrificed two hardware buttons as volume controls, using NTMM to assign the functions. But most of the time I don't need those buttons to control volume.
Now I don't need to tie up two buttons and neither do you. Version 4 (below) of the USB Audio toggle app places a pair of volume control buttons on the mid-right edge of your screen that persists until you exit USB Audio mode (works in Portrait or Landscape). Then they just disappear! (screenshot with TuneIn Radio below)
There are no other changes to Version 3, so if you don't need the buttons, you don't need version 4.
In order for the Android audio volume control to function as intended, you need to have Phone.apk in /system/app.
Version 4 can be installed over version 3. Enjoy!
Updated USB Audio toggle app
Version 3 of the app uses the exact same method for killing mediaserver as @Renate NST does in her AudioCtl app (but no beeps). The method used in previous versions was not compatible with the android volume control described in this thread.
i know this thread may be a little older but does this allow to have the original android volume control, control the usb audio output volume?
i have an android Headunit that ill be wanting to send digital audio via usb to a DSP processor via usb. to retain my steering wheel volume control i need the normal android volume control to control the usb audio output.
Is this a fix to what i am looking for?? Android 6.0

If I understand your situation correctly, the answer is "no". This pair of apps is tailored only for the NST e-reader with USB Host kernal modifications. In this case, normal Android volume control functions via the Phone apk to control system volume of the USB audio gizmo. But this is a very narrow application, and I doubt the app would even run on a Marshmallow ROM.
ALRIGht is there any possible way to get the usb audio output volume control enabled ?

I'm afraid I'm pretty clueless with a different system. I have one device running CM 13 (Marshmallow, Android 6.0) and in Settings>Developers Options there is a place to "Disable USB Audio routing", but I don't know whether that is at all related to your situation.
Google may be your friend. It's usually how I find out things.
USB Audio toggle with onscreen volume controls!
I'm pleased to have learned how to do this! Details in the first post.

Adding features the one plus 5!

The purpose of this thread is simple...
To discuss anything that will truly add features to our phone... As we know this is a light skinned version of stock Android
And here I will be presenting links to apps and threads and everyone can contribute... Which add features to Op5...
Not just ui customizations..... Features...
Definition of a feature...
Something which your phone does which it couldn't do before that app..
So come on guys.. Lets start...
Though I did hate the laggy TouchWiz. I did live the s pen and S note...
And honestly speaking you wll too...
Let's try and customize our Op5.. To the extent that we want to...
This thread will present a series of apps and threads links etc..
Which will help the user to truly add whatever features they want from whatever skin htc sense Samsung TouchWiz to their op5
And I am no developer so please help me out here...

Allows you to take custom screen shots and save content like scrapbook for later use...
It is also a over screen float like air view...
It kinda blows samsung air view out of the box... But ya note devices do have bigger screens...

MacroDroid - Device Automation
MacroDroid is a powerful task automation and configuration app that focuses heavily on usability with a simple UI and logical step by step process.
Amazing UI. In my experience better than Tasker.
How about Always On AMOLED - BETA?
It's a simple app which keeps your screen on always (like MOTO devices). Nice and cool. If you pay a small amount you get an unlocked version with customization...
Loved the suggestions guys... Specially the always on amoled

I have two minor additions I'd want added:
1. More customizable theme colors (or honestly I just want red back!)
2. Invertable color option for the system tray
TL;DR add automatic rules
I had a note 5 I loved it, unfortunately it didn't like the hot tub.. TBH I never used the pen much, but when I did it was handy, perfect for field work; snap a pic, doodle on it, send it off. Awesome! I was torn between buying a note FE or the OP5, I'm glad I stuck with OP from a 2 to a 3 to a 5. I've become a flash-a-holic.
The feature I'd love to see is "automatic rules" you can actually get access to the setting on OOS if you have nova launcher, but it just doesn't work. I'm using "#1 profile" to automatically set the phone to priority only at bed time, this shouldn't be a difficult thing for OP to add/activate to OOS.
I'd also like the old dialer, or for that matter any other dialer, swipe down to answer for me is counter intuitive. Like thumbs up thumbs down, swipe up to answer, or swipe down to reject a call.
I wish you could choose the text bubble colour in the default sms app. Like textra or Google messages (too bad they don't have a dark theme for Google messages).
A setting to switch the wireless data indicator from 4g to LTE, I'm not sure why this bugs me, but it does.
How about Tiles? Also, Virtual Hosts is excellent for setting up a root free ad block. Just download one of Steven Black's host files from GitHub and point the app to it.
Would love for buttons and gestures (especially screen off) to be able to invoke app shortcuts. Just imagine the possibilities for Tasker.
Always on display.
Notification badges on the stock launcher so I can enjoy the shelf.

This is a nice app and I have paid to support but the battery hit is just too much right now compared to what you get using LG or Samsung's version

I don't understand why not a single stock ROM has long-press volume to skip track. Its such a simple feature. Its baked into every single custom ROM out there. It was there on Sony Ericsson phones (Walkman and K series). I need to get the damn phone out of the pocket, turn the screen on, unlock, open notifications shade, and press to skip a god damn song. (Not all headphones come with buttons, and not all headphones support skipping songs by multi-pressing the buttons.)
2 features I'd love added:
1. Long press back to kill app
2. Brightness slider in notification drop down. I know there is one, but you have to fully extend it to change it. My S7 had the option to place it in the first drop down.
Yeah I agree with most of you, some useful additions:
1. Badges on the Stock OP Launcher! I love it from my iPhone and sometimes forget to answer because I swyped the notification away and no badges to know there are still unread messages
2. Always On or something similar, but only if it doesn't use too much battery and no burn-in
3. Kill all apps in background with one button gesture
I'd love to see OMS commits get to OOS and probably experiment with the Kernel a bit (I know you can flash a custom, but if you'd like to stay complete stock, without unlocking). Maybe improve audio libs similar to ARISE....
How about a one-handed mode feature? That would be pretty helpful.
- Options to block QS & Power menu on secured lockscreen. (Smart Lockscreen protector app does the job, but it's service doesn't start at boot until the first unlock...)
- Skip music tracks using volume keys
- Built in Caffeine tile (the one from play store works well, but doesn't reset when turning screen off).
- Launch torch using power button long press when screen is off
- One-handed mode
- Center status bar clock
Hi guys,
1- badges for notifications. All my previous phones had this function.
2- more functions in auto mode for camera app, it's too basic for me. And in pro mode, I cannot set up the luminosity if the speed is in manual.
3- ultra power saving mode, like Samsung does, very useful when no more battery and we know no access to electricity for several hours.
4- Resize several pictures at the same time. Sometimes I need to send some pictures but the weight is too big.
1. Badges for unread msg or any notification
2. Always on
3. Camera should have more modes
4. Blurred wallpaper on lock screen
Always on clock
Ability to have status bar icons anywhere ie: signal on left
Ability to use dual cameras for wide angle
Ability to use normal USB-C to HDMI cables (not displaylink, Chromecast and wireless solutions are not fit for gaming, one of the 1+5s strongest points)
Screen off/on animation
List view animations
Full halo support
I'll think of more but that's my list of wants
