dual boot erase going back to stock problem - Nook Color General

okay so i did the dual-boot instructions to dual boot froyo and 2.1 in the android development forums. now im trying back to revert to a stock rom. but when i run the script that the thread tells us to run to revert
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11001928&postcount=66
i get errors saying reformat-media.sh: line 9:/data/dualboottmp/parted: not found
anyone know any better way to delete my partitions and recreate them to be the same as stock setup?
now i flashed a nookie froyo rom over everything. it boots fine. but im trying to install an overclock kernel and the instructions say that im supposed to replace uImage with that in /boot but my rom does not have a /boot partition.
can anyone help me out?

You just input the script step by step.It will be ok.

G1 Help

So I am stuck and not really sure what do to. I was trying to update to another ROM, not really sure what happend but now my g1 is stuck in a boot loop.
I can get to the fast boot menu and also to the recovery menu to load update.zip's. I have tried to reload the root RC but when I rename and load to SDCard Ii get something about not able to verifiy the file.
Could some one Please help to get me back on track.
Side note i was trying to load this:
http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?p=18084
So i have the RC back on my phone, but would still like to install the ROM i posted in the above URL.
In the above post this is what is listed for needs:
SPL 1.33.2005 (Called Haykuro SPL)
Does any one have a link to a Guide that will show how to correctly unstall this SPL? As i under stand it, installing this SPL is very dangeris and will brick your phone easy if done incorrectly.
An ext2/3-partition for the apps
I am pretty sure that i have this set up correctly, I should be able to just go to a prompt and type in print to see the partionts on my SD Card.
Any help or comments would be great!
Boot loop after flashing a different rom is usually caused by your ext partition. You should wipe the partition when you change ROMs. You can backup the apps on the ext partition to the fat32 partition, wip ext, then restore the apps.
Use the script in post 3 HERE
As for the DangerSPL... I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to try a hero ROM. If you still want to install it then make sure you flash the proper radio first, even if you already have the radio, flash it again anyways. Both can be found HERE

[Q] Customized Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 CWR for eMMC flashable zip

Any chance we could get a flashable zip of this? I would like to be able to just run it off CWR already installed on my device. I'm trying to run a dual boot setup with this as my primary and Eclair as my secondary. I can get the dual boot with just about anything else as my primary to cooperate but when I install this via sd card I lose ability to access my secondary partition. I've tried to then reflash rookies prep dual boot.bin to no avail. Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty light on my android knowhow but I'm trying to pick this up.
Thanks
I need a a Superbump
Just trying to bump this still haven't found an answer
First you need to flash the Eclair zip:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959461
What it does is take WHATEVER is in the primary boot partition (Eclair, Froyo, CM7) and moves it to the secondary partition. I have actually used it to dual boot CM7 and Froyo.
Then once you have done that, just Flash Froyo regular and you will have Eclair in second boot and Froyo as primary boot.
I get what it does.
Yes I understand what that file does. I was looking for an answer as to why flashing this version of Froyo messes with dual boot setups and how to correct it. I'll probably just switch over to the stock froyo cwr.
Because when you flash that version it goes straight into the second slot, screwing up your dual boot. Just use the regular Froyo at that point.
Now you are confusing me.
I'm pretty sure this rom "Customized Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 CWR for eMMC" doesn't install to the second slot when flashing from CWR on SD. I think this is overwriting uboot.bin and removing the multiboot options. Now i tried to reflash the the multiboot files and no luck

Dual boot not working

I am trying to follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053780
I wiped out my working very good CM7 installation after taking a backup (both RM and TB) and tried following the instructions. I have read through the entire thread and followed the advice of other posters as well. My CWMR is 3.2.0.1. But whatever I do, my final flash of CM7 overwrites my previous [hard] work and gives me a single boot only to CM7.What is worse, when I restore backup, I get missing apps and widgets and my Zeam Launcher is not restored.
I thought the idea of having the RM backup and restore was to get everything back exactly as it was. I spent a whole day trying to get Stock and CM7 working as a dual boot configuration, but it does not work for me.
I have tried installing the CM7 Dual Boot zip but that gave me the same result as well.
The only thing I am doing differently is that I am not rooting stock. I don't need to do that so I end up running CWR from SD Card for flashing CM7. Don't know if that is the problem.
Any ideas?

Rooted Stock boot loop

Hi all,
I have run into one issue on my nook. I have had it for a while and followed all the directions for root and it was running perfect. One day it rebooted and would nver start back up. It gets stuck in the Nook Color Devs Boot Loop where it says Nook, then color in a rainbow scheme. I attempted to reload the factory image, ran the first manual nooter and logged into gmail, etc. Then I ran the second nooter and now I am stuck in a boot loop again. Is there anyway to solve this?
A factory reset appears to help but as soon as I root, the same thing happens. I have attempted to search but couldn't find anything else.
I also found out that if I clear dalvik and cache then it won't go immediately to the boot loop. It attempts to load but i am not sure what to do.
Thanks all.
You may want to specify which version of Stock you're reloading. I don't know for sure, but there may be some different procedures if you're on 1.3... But I don't know, just a tip for people to give you more specific help.
Thank you. This has happened to me on both the1.2 and 1.3 stock rom. It actually just shut off one day and then started doing this.
I'm not very familiar with the stock rom. I got rid of it within like 10 minutes of getting my nook, turning it into a tablet was my whole reason for buying one.
I didn't think there was more than one root script that you had to run though. At least not for 1.2, I dunno about 1.3 though.
Perhaps something there's messing it up?
Personally, I would suggest following one of the threads about restoring to stock... step by step and see if that helps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13198961#post13198961
Basically... just make a bootable cwm card. Make a backup of what you have atm. Copy the zip you download from that thread to your card. Boot your cwm card and goto mounts and storage, and format: /system, /data, /cache, and I would do /boot just in case. Normally, you shouldn't format boot... but just in case something there is causing you a problem it might be best. I know the stock rom restores the boot files anyway. Then just go to (sorry if the wording here isn't right, I don't have my nook in front of me) install zip from card, then select zip, and choose the 1.2 zip you put on the card. It should take like 5-10 mins to flash... remove the bootable sdcard, and choose reboot now. This should get you back to 100% stock 1.2, then you can retry rooting it... I think 1.2 needs the manual nooter script. You shouldn't have to run anything more than once to root it though, unless you upgrade after that to 1.3.
I had the same problem after getting the 1.3 update and re-rooting. The problem was adobe flash 10.3. I ran flashplayer_fix.zip from GMPOWER's post on this page (sorry don't know how to link the post) and it fixed the problem.

Yes - that happened to me also. My first "bad" experience with flashing
from what i read CM7 running ext4, stock runing ext3 right?
so now i'm back with stock running froyo, i still have my backup files on with sd card. Do i root and install rom manager then install Back2Ext3, and final running restore? will this restore back to my original state since i backup using cwm to backup.
thank guy
yes, cm7 uses ext4 system mount. i just use a zip file which i flash from recovery if i need to get back to ext3.
here it is btw if you are on stock froyo and want to restore stock gingerbread (if i understood you right) you dont need to use back to ext3 again, just restore your back up.

Restore stock backup from CM needs to flash an ext4-backto-ext3 zip with cwm, what a pity you overwrite cwm with stock recovery.
Now you should try to rescue your phone with SmartFlash, finally consider nvflash method.
