My weird battery - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys.. I need your help here.. My galaxy s can only last with display on for around 2 hours.. Is it normal? Oh I'm running Darky's Rom v9.2.. Need your help guys.. Thank you very much..

I don't think 2 hours is normal no
So that means you have something draining your battery fast, some app or anything you just installed?

There are many problems posted resolving to batt drainage so look around on the forum since we don't know what apps or other stuff you do with your phone but it sure ain't normal.
Did you flash Darky's ROM with 100% battery? Maybe try charging it fully when your phone is off, then wipe batt stats, drain your phone and charge again.

If you did not have the problem before then its the rom you flashed or a bad flash .

most likely just the rom, try to keep wifi bluetooth and gps off when not using it, and set screen to auto adjust. Not much you can really do, sum roms have good battery life and sum is jus flat out poopy
which rom are you using? do u know any ways to improve battery life... how is ur battery working.. how long does your battery lasts?
That is strange. I have Darky's V8 ROM and the battery lasts me all day with about 60% left. I charge it every night so it never runs out of battery.
do you know any method to improve battery life?

[Q]Battery problem?

Hello all,
I am now on Nova 8, after trying Cm7, then stock, then nova 8. The problem im facing is that I think the battery life is shorter than it should be. I used battery calibration app and when its close to 0% still shows 3000+mv, is this correct? Or it should be close to 0. After using this App the problem persist. Im not sure if its my imagination or the battery should last longer but with a light useage the phone hardly reaches a day.
Thank you in advance

First, this is the Development Section and not for asking questions. This should be posted in General Section. (Reported and now moved)
Whenever you flash a new ROM or exchanging one for another, you should always wipe battery stats (CWM). You can however do this now directly without that app. Charge it 100%, then reboot to recovey (CWM) then wipe battery stats.
To answer your question. You might have mistaken a battery drain would equal to 0mV. Batteries like ours has 4200+mV at full charge, and a discharged rate of about 3000+/-mV. This could be well explained by someone like huexxx.. XD CMIIW

[Q] please help! rooted Starbusrt Rom +1.4 overclock..screen using 80% of battery!

Hi guys,
after flashing the starburst rom and over clocking and several tries to calibrate the battery my battery is still draining a mile a minute. I used the battery calibration app....have let the battery fully drain and charge at least 5 times now and I still can't get back my battery life!
I'm thinking the root of the problem, well...when I go to settings than battery use it says the screen is using between 70-80% of the battery...I am assuming that what is sucking the life out of my battery but I have no idea how to fix it. my screen time out is at 30 seconds...brightness is almost as low as it can get. ITS DRIVING ME NUTS
I am assuming I calibrated the battery correctly cause it does not drain at all when the screen is locked.
please, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I am ready to rip my hair out!
I just opened battery calibration app its at 70% 4mv isn't it supposed to be like 4000mv? or is just abbreviated?
I just flashed a new rom and still having the same issue!
trying to calibrate the new rom using battery calibration and its barely charging...been stuck on 61% 4mv for about a half hour now..
is it possible that this problem is being caused because I installed the roms with ROM manager and not CWM?
I apologize for what questions may seem dumb...I am a noob....but i have searched relentlessly for answers on this specific problem here with out finding much yet.
disregard that last question..lol..u can see how badly this has my brain turned upside down

Battery drain while Phone is OFF!

I just bought a used galaxy S, I think something's wrong with this phone, I am having horrible battery life, 100% battery drains in a few hours, on standby! ..battery is even draining while phone is off... I had over 75% battery at night, I turned off my phone, and slept... woke up to find 0% battery..
Anyone else experienced this ?? Any suggestion how to fix?? I had stock 2.3.3 rom, then I flashed stock 2.3.6, now I am using GamerzRom.. I had same issue on all three roms..is it hardware problem?
from my experient , 2.3.3 have a big probleme with battery drain , try 2.3.4 JVR STOCK or 2.3.6 jvz stock , but without root , or flashing a roms(GAMEROMS, on its rom , the processor are overclock at 1.2 gbz , and battery is discharging more faster) ,and after put 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 , make a factory reset and wipe cache

So the battery is draining with the phone off..... Is it draining if you remove it from the phone? Charge to full, remove for a few hours and then check.
Then check accessories section for advice on a replacement battery.

Last night I left the phone off, after removing the battery, it didn't drain at all, but obviously it wasn't in the phone.
And I had a different battery before, this is the other battery I got from the shopkeeper as replacement, its original battery of galaxy S but not new, more than a year old...
I am wondering if my battery is faulty or phone?
Have you checked the battery pins?

Two pins are normal, one pin is a bit pressed..somewhat
I think your battery is dead. There is no way a Galaxy S with Stock ROM drains 75% over 8-10 hours of standby.
Was 3G on when you went to bed, bluetooth, GPS Etc? If so, THEN I'm not supprised.

I agree. Change the battery then try again
I did try another battery, both batteries were in good condition, probably Galaxy S had some problem, I returned it to shop...

[Q] EMERGENCY!!! BAttery draining like a rocket

CAn anyone suggest how to fix battery drain im on fxp Cm 12 02/09 and i turned everthing off and battery on low brightness. Also this happend before on other roms.NEEd a fix please reply fast:crying::crying:
What other ROM's did this happen on? Were they also Lollipop ROM's? I personally experienced this once on CM12, my phone went from 70-ish % to 1% overnight by doing absolutely nothing! My advice is to come back to Lollipop when it is more stable, it's way too buggy right now to be used as a daily driver IMO.
ok
Ok ill try crystalpa 8.50 and will let you know about the battery. Well i dont in the first place why my battery is draining it wsnt draining last week i use to leave my phone overnight. It used to be 100% to 95%.NOw its 100% to 79% which is bull****:crying::crying:

My phone model is Walton Primo GM..Hope I will get my solution! Thanks All!
Same here with the battery. I returned to stock 4.3 to see will the problem remains.
i have been using one plus x charger since few days.. battery charges from 14% to 70% in around 30 minutes (with 3g onn!!)
What could be the problem for this? Few days ago i didn't have problems with battery and then suddenly yesterday morning it went to 50%, though i charged it at 100% the night before.
